I get so caught up in watching AM’s videos that I sometimes get so soaked in that I feel like I’m actually there with the monkeys and when one starts looking a bit cross while heading towards or pulling faces at the camera, I actually move my phone away from my face a little so I can make sure I give them their personal space 😂❤

I feel like Flofi is more likely to choose Bo as a babysitter, but I'm not sure if she has made the connection that Bo plus baby equals baby's death. However, I believe that Layla's interest in babysitting will make her a fine assistant and between the two of them, I'm hopeful that Loylo can be babysat and returned to mom safe and sound. with any luck, they will all find a place where they are loved and needed.

We have had the worst heat wave for the past 3 weeks. This brings dry lightning strikes. Right now, our world UNESCO Jasper National Park is in flames. The town is gone. I live 4 hours away and the smoke is horrible. We are suffering heat, humidity, and poor air quality. It's a heartbreaking disaster of epic proportions. We need lots of prayers here.

Actually, 1/3 of the town was lost, but it included historical buildings and homes. The rest was saved thanks to the heroism of firefighters. The park is still burning though.

Pepi has hurt his finger 😢 I thought it was just berries making his hand look red at first but that tender lick of the finger was more of a wound cleaning kind than food cleaning. Then the was he tots off, you can see that hand is being treated with caution not to touch ground as normal. I hope it’s just scrape that heals fast!

Can anybody explain how one comes to be Matriarch? How does others rank rise/fall? Are their family always going to remain the queen without challenge? They appear to boot Alphas frequently, but Lowina has got to be 20+ years old and has long past the ability to enforce. I know she has a flock of big daughters to do so, but if not how is succession determined? I realize these may be utterly unknown questions, but the difference is Skull Head vs the others led by females causes me to think it might’ve been a physical dominance vs only bloodline. If there was to be a healthy convo on the topic, I’d really be thankful.

@@Danceswithfishes yes, I’ve heard that, but am confused. For example, Lowina’s offspring: I’ve heard Fozxi would follow Lowina, but also “Princess Layla”. So does that indeed mean that every time a daughter is born, the Matriarch has a new heir? Why them? Did they win some sort of challenge like a young lion v old lion scenario? If for example, Lowina lives long enough see another granddaughter born, she’d take the role regardless of age?

Is it just bearing many girls thus having a dominant family within the group? @@jcboom6894 Blind (or really poor vision) actually makes a lot of sense when watching at 23:10....he seems to be using his sense of touch more than sight to guide him to that railing and his eyes look...."lost" in the same way people with really bad vision don't focus on specific objects (there's not really a nicer way to phrase that and I'm sure there's medical terms used to describe this....and obviously if you have really poor vision or are blind obviously your eyeballs aren't going to be focusing on something you can't make out so don't take it that way)

Slime molds are usually not considered fungi (anymore), but of Mycetozoa (class) in the tribe of Amoebozoa (Source: Wikipedia). They can be microscopic to square metre in size, depending on the spieces. AM was fairly certain Lowry had fathered Bossy's recent babies. Lowry could be a close relative, which could help explain why both Bossy and Bessy's babies both died last year. If you look at the old videos, most of Bossy's babies look similar. These females would never mate with her own son.

This is learned behaviour from her mom. AM has theorized that Nora has PPD, and that's why she treats her babies the way she does. Also, we cannot, as humans, impose our values on monkeys. To Celessa, she is treating her baby as she has learned. She has no concept of right or wrong. This is natural to her. We may not like it. It isn't pretty, but it's the way of this particular monkey. Who are we to judge?
