I like the thought that like in the hit movie Ready Player One, Concerned Apes chosen "Avatar" Is a blue guy with shades wearing what to me appears like clothes that look like materialized universe. He is just like the game designer in the movie leaving clues about his game universe too!

I have another theory about who (or what) Mr. Qi is - so, his skin is blue while there are virtually no human NPCs with irregular skin color (let's ignore the possibility for the farmer to have weird colored skin for this one), right? Well... There is actually ONE character with blue skin - Granpa, or rather Grandpa's ghost! So maybe, the reason why Mr. Qi can speak with the dead is because he himself is a sort of spirit?

Mr. Qi has been my least favorite thing in the game, ever since I first ran into him. The way he talks about himself and the player as being special is a vibe shift from the rest of the game, which I feel is about being part of the community and the Valley. Mr. Qi encourages you to see yourself as separate. And I've always read Grandpa's letter as an invitation to go easy on yourself, but Mr. Qi is completely focused on influence and control. I don't like it.
