Well, it's because they are important. The wolves, thunder, pellicans, kings, clippers, mavs, suns did what in the last 5-10 years? Combined? Nothing at all and this year will be the same. I agree we should talk about the Nuggets more than Lakers and Warriors, but to say that they ( Steph and Lebron ) are not the most important teams in the West from a fan/popularity perspective is nuts. They gather so much attention being the faces of the league that we root for them to have playoff moments more than any other western team. What do you wanna say about the other teams that is so important? They have not and will not have sucess in the post season, so it makes the regular season irrelevant. But if they make it like the Nuggets, they should be respected. Until then, we are better off talking about the 9-10 seeds any way

The most striking thing about the race at the top of the west is the amount of winning Denver, OKC and Minn. have been doing. Given their remaining schedules I think all 3 will win at least 57 games with Denver perhaps reaching 59 wins. I don't know if people appreciate how amazing that is given how brutally difficult the west is this year. Before the season I put money on the fact that no team in the west would even win 55 games. About to be lighter in the pocket but hopefully wiser I think this is one of the most remarkable races at the top of a conference I've ever seen. Who honestly expected Minn. and OKC to win close to 60 games?

Okc were full healthy this season. Denver would have 65 games olus if murray wouldnt be injured 17 games and they wouldnt give so many rookies playing time. So they build thwir rookies up and are still first thats how u build a dynasty

Ok here's my 2 cents on who plays who in the west first round: 1. Nuggets - Lakers, 2. OKC- Kings, 3. Timberwolves-Mavs, 4. Clippers-Pelicans

I can’t see Clippers holding the four seed. They are in freefall. Mavs are now in the box seat for 4 imo. In fact I almost think it’s more likely Clippers are in the play-in than the four. They’re probably neither and the 5/6 but play-in seems likelier than 4 for me

I’ll never give up on warriors and Steph. But the current reality sure doesn’t feel great. Too many flawed players on their team. Literally only Steph and Dray and CP3 are doing well. Kuminga is good, but not good enough to make up for the decline in Wiggs and Klay. Relying on so many young guys too. Wiggs is the biggest problem on defense for their killer lineup. And TJd is not experienced enough to reliably against good teams. Truly if Wiggs could just play reliably like 2022 version, the Warriors are a good team.

Think of it. West 1-4 will not mind losing to both Lakers and Houston, as they would rather face this 2 teams than meet GSW or Lakers in the post season. If you could eliminate both the better for pre season leaders. I might think they will losse to Houston and Pheonix and get both Lakers and GSW eliminated. Watch out the coming games and at the results moving forward and this might be happening.

As tired as Steph may be at any given movement, you won't see that dude standing around with hands on hips. Can't say the same for his young teammates. I think GSW can be fine on offense but it's been brutal watching the youngsters standing around, dying on fast break defense and being sloppy in half-court defense.

Could Dallas still win both games? Absolutely. But they’ll be a fight each night.
