You are correct the media did in many ways create this situation but not like you say. i think when Kyrie saw how the media reacted to LeBron leaving Cleveland and more likely how they spoke about him after he ditched LeBron it changed how he saw his world. Some of the stuff he said back in the day let us know he has some deep resentment towards anyone who dared to call him out. So he started to sour in some ways like when he pouted and smirked his way through the suspension in Brooklyn then himself spoke on being childish and petty. So as much as Kyrie earned his critics he has also spawned this hype machine where ESPN wants us to think dude should get extra credit for showing up to work ready to go. Isn't that the expectation already?

Was thinking the exact same. No credit whatsoever for making that backcourt with Kai work. Then all the times Luka scored like 20+ in the first half and Kai scored 20+ in the second all the talk was hiw Kyrie win the games, he's the closer and what not. Now that they switched and Luka closed, the talk is how Kyrie put the team on his back from the start and hie they would've been down 20 if it wasn't for him with barely any credit to Luka. It's comical. And just like you I LOVE Kyrie getting praise, but man the ESPN anti-Luka agenda this year is generational.

And here I thought the Mavs go as Luka goes - you know, the white guy who put the team on his back for all those games Kai was missing, the same guy who led the NBA in scoring almost averaging a triple double - the dude who took over in the 4th scoring 15 points, and making two critical defensive plays to win the game. Sure, Kai is one of the best players in the NBA and has been for over a decade, on top of which he is also one of the most spectacular players in the league, a joy to watch. But make no mistake, Luka's the best player in this series by a margin - in fact, he is the best player left in the playoffs & top 3 in the NBA. And the Mavs are his team through and through. It'd be great if they'd mention all of that as well.

Stephen A is such a two-faced clown. Most of the so-called issues Kyrie had in Brooklyn were overblown and instigated by Stephen A and others at espn. They're Knick fanboys who were upset Kyrie and KD didnt go to the there so they did what they could to instigate.

Dallas has 2 bonified superstars, at the back court that complement each other, at this point its not a stretch to say that luka looks up to kyrie in some way, sometimes bro is just as amazed as we are when ky does somethings, having a vet like him on the team is a blessing, dallas won that trade by a landslide. I was praying the bucks would have gotten kyrie but alas thats didnt happen, that combo would have been great to see, anyways super happy bro is getting all the reapect he deserves. ... they should review that 75 list again

Guarding Kyrie in isolation ain't the best strategy you dare to do cuz he'll be scoring in your a$$ until you run out of sweat. You gotta have to stick with the usual plan like how other teams usually do it. you gotta have to blitz him. This has always been the usual strategy coaches do against him since the guy started joining the league. Don't poke the bear by yourself.

1. Jason Kidd clearly mentioned that this was the Luka's team so Kyrie accepted as a second fiddle. 2. More importantly got three key players for C and PF positions. Those are the huge difference.

Jason Kidd and Irving’s maturity… irving is doing less driviling and just getting the ball in the right place fast. The team is clicking / chemistry wise too. They all know their roles.. there’s like 4 players on there they are tall defend , scrappy, n rebound.

@@ratcomedy I see you are a member of the Uncle Drew crew. Kyrie right. Everyone else wrong. Newsflash unlike these fools at ESPN I stay consistent on Kyrie sorry but his yesterday does not go away because of what he might do tomorrow. Cool story right Kyrie Irving is present, dedicated, and working well with others. That is his job description but y'all want him to get extra credit for showing up? Dallas is grinding and Unc Drew is fitting in nicely. Its a lil early to judge but for fun go ask some Cavs and Celtics fans what the next chapter is from this point. See if the agree with you..or me. Too soon to tell if this ride will be more of the same or a new and improved Kai. But lets not pretend we don't fully understand why the critics are so persistent with him.

Edwards now has low self esteemed because his game was started to slowdown, This is critical for Wolves right now. The question is who among them will stand and speak the motivation to re-Ignite the team....Once the Dallas Hit another win out of two game @ home, I don't think Wolves can recover again same of what they did in Denver. Remember Coach Kid have strong rotation of Luka-Kyrie-Gafford-Lively-PJ-Jones-Green-Hardaway-Hardy-Exum....Just imagined Consistent total of 10 players rotation fresh legs which could match up the energy of any opponent.
