I never really intentionally made jazz till I found you last week. I made a song thats totally out there for me, and I'm really grateful to you for opening my musical world more. Thanks Adam and everyone at Open Studio.

This is amazing, I play piano for my church and literally just played a song that has a cadential 6-4!! It's called, "Wonderful Grace of Jesus" by Haldor Lillenas, made in 1918. It has a sequence where it goes " C | C7 | F | F#°7 | C/G | Ab7 | C/G | G7 | C" and the song ends with, "C | C7 | F | F#°7 | C/G | C/Bb | F/A | Fm6/Ab | C/G | G7 | C" one of my favorite songs to play, and now I know why it's so good!! Thank you!

Very interesting video about getting to 6-4! I was still 5’6 at the end of the video, but very educational and know a lot more about jazz now. (All seriousness, loved the vid!)

A flat over G flat is, actually, based on the f sharp and in classical music is treated as a double dimished markt as a -VIID. It can lead to D or K 6/4 ...

This was my first guided practice session and I will definitely be joining for more in the future. Great idea for a stream! I do have a question: why did you use the F6 dim scale instead of C6? Can you use both? What other ones can you use? I know you've touched on this in other videos, but an idea for future guided practice videos could be walking through the various scale types appropriate for specific chord types? Thank you for the high quality content! I love Open Studio!

Loving ALL OF THIS and the open studio site too! Question, are these videos also on the site for Open Studio classes as a part or are these extras you do? On Day 3 with OS (holy cow I am having so much fun and learning again!) If these are outside of the awesome classes even better. If they are part of a cours on OS, would love to know which ones the shorts YT FB and IG come out of. So far started Genius Chords and the beginner Jazz piano courses

I have so many questions! Sorry. Would you ever think about the E dim as C7/E? Same question for the B flat diminished.

When you diminish one of those simple B flats, you're in jazz heaven. Never A to G flat. The scales will lead you back every single time.

Why did your G/B always sound like some kind of sus chord when you were exploring the diatonic walk down? Am I crazy? Also, how would you think about an A flat/G sharp over the F# diminished in your chromatic walk up? Obviously it’s just a 9 on top, but I don’t hear people talk about 9’s on diminished chords very often.
