Every jazz standard interval reference you summoned across all intervals is so much more inspiring than the usual references we were taught as kids. And transcribing the complete melodies for every tune is a master class in intervals inside chord progressions from the Gods of music! Thank you!

What I have found during my own ear training is the fact that there really is a huge difference between the ascending and decending thirds. This is because while the ascending minor third sounds minor, the descending minor third sounds major, and while the ascending major third sounds major, the descending major third sounds minor to me. My explanation to this: I associate an ascending third with the lower part of the corresponding triad, whereas I associate a descending third with the upper part of the corresponding triad. Just my experience.

Its because a major third inverted is a minor 6th, a minor 3rd inverted is a major 6th. its a very common mistake in interval recognition.

Please do this to at least the Major 9th interval. This is an effective way of training your ears. I didn't know until now that I sometimes actually use this method. Everytime I hear a Major 6th interval (which I call the Chopin interval) my heart melts.

Refreshing! I really like using the ironic phrases but not sure I can readily hear the interval in a different place in the scale. For example the Stella phrase is so an iconic b5 to 4 but. I am not sure its helps hearing the interval from 4 to 3. Comments welcome.

When I hear a minor second ascending I automatically think "jaws interval" : )

I think it was a good idea to use 3-5 of major chords to demonstrate minor thirds, and vice versa.

Should i think of these intervals in relation to the key (ie. In What's New, I hear the major 7 going to the 1, so of course that's a minor second in between) or should I just be thinking space between the notes (much harder for me, almost impossible right now to separate the sound from the key)?
