Actual question to u is of your video. why do Diddy and R. Kelly hurt women? Have you read any of R. Kelly and indictments not just from the media the courts transcripts not just what the what Media says but what the cross examination is. In all RSK cases? Lust is a Sin against GOD but is it criminal when it comes to RSK I can’t speak for Diddy? They didn’t find any CP in the Robert Sylvester Kelly Cases? I need evidence & facts not your emotions. There was no evidence that RSK was involved in of domestic violence in his cases? That was a man that testify on Robert’s behalf, said that when his Girlfriends would enter the house in Mr. Kelly would always greet them with a smile and take off his hat 🧢 and they would come sit down and would play the piano for them? I am not here to support any of these people more bad behavior I don’t agree with any man having more than one wife? Because that’s what Are God say? R. Kelly committed sin against GOD Lust is not criminal because if it is well you need to lock me up first and then you need go after the GAY Community and all the record executives of Sony universal records AMC Warner Bros. everybody needs to go to prison come on man. Your next video should be titled why do Hunter Biden and Dr. Dre hurt women? Do you research my great channel?
@taleiabowers9774Ай бұрын
I appreciate you and your content so I subscribed. I agree with most of your viewpoints except removing/deleting the abuser’s art. I don’t consider that celebrity worship. Standing outside a prison with a Free R. Kelly sign is absolutely disgusting because he is guilty and deserves to be locked up where he can’t hurt any young women anymore. However, I associate some of his music to my past experiences . I sang I believe I can fly in school and as you said it’s in Space Jam so I’m never deleting that song. I wish is another song that helps me deal with grief so it’s staying in my music library. Now he does have sexual music that sounds like he’s singing it to underage girls and those songs don’t hit the same for me anymore so those songs I absolutely skip and don’t enjoy the way I used to when I didn’t know if the rumors about him were true or not. I have and will always separate the art from the artist because if we were alive when Beethoven and Mozart were around, they could have committed crimes that didn’t get reported because of their fan bases but we will never know. We have access to 24/7 news and the internet so we can get every scoop and hot topic now so if we throw away every piece of art because the person is trash then we might as well give up music and movies because trash people are always gonna be trash. Lastly, what I just said is not saying that I condone their trash behavior. If they commit crimes, lock them up with the rest of the criminals but I’m not deleting the art that I have associated to positive memories.

It's SO IMPORTANT that we acknowledge that things like this (R Kelly, Cosby, Diddy, Weinstein, Epstein etc) are not simply isolated incidents. They are in fact related to greater CULTURAL issues, by which I mean American culture in general. As a whole we are still a country that is very much engaged in Patriarchy and misogyny at the highest levels of our society. And the conscious and unconscious encouragement of rape culture is something that all of us men NEED to think about as well. If you think life is somehow easier or safer for most women, I suggest you go talk to some of them about what they deal with and have to be potentially worried about on a daily basis.

And my estranged sister started getting tracked by an airpod not even days after a guy threatened to grape her. . . . . I realized something. . . . . The feminists were right. For context : My experience with feminists were awful in College. I was demeaned, humiliated, made a punching bag for shit that happened in their past, silenced inn online spaces, called a littany of names and these people who were feminists were not good people. They were still right. and that's a bitter pill to swallow. So I thought. I mean, do I have to be friends with somebody or like them for them to be worthy of being treated like a human being? Do we have to treat social politics like a friend group? If I think of it as a duty then it becomes easier to put my ego to the side and just help women out, yknow? Here's the bitter pill : We hurt people who happen to be women and when women bring it up, we get immature and reactive and make somebody else's pain about us and treat women the way white people treat black people. With that fragile - you're bad for calling me bad because "Not all Men". Also, for clarity? I'm not perfect. Sometimes I forget. Sometimes my ego comes back into focus after I spend too much time identifying with my mind. Then I remember what happened to Junko Furuta and realize "Not all men" has no real world value.

I hate leaving two comments but that ending deserves it. Yes on so many levels. First, a fundamental societal disrespect of women very much fuels this. How many rich and famous women are caught doing stuff like this? I can’t think of a single one (although I’m sure it happened one time it does not happen with this frequency). Notice how sex crimes are the only crimes where we doubt the accuser. No one ever accuses Target of falsely accusing shoplifters. There’s no conspiracy that people were trying to “take down” Bernie Madoff. Second, you hit the NAIL ON THE HEAD bro: no one sees themselves as the villain! What does a sex trafficker, warlord, and cartel member have in common? A story about how they are actually the victim. A story about how everything they do is justified because of something that happened to them. This toxic self pity is one of the most dangerous feelings people get, because it can be used to justify almost anything. We have all had bad things happen to us, some more than others, and it’s terrible that those things happened. The minute a person starts using these events to justify their own actions empathy goes out the door. All you did was let the darkness consume you.

Abuse does not occur in a vacuum, it takes a society that instructed some people to believe they could act against others consequence free, and groups of people willing to permit those actions. Crucially though, we must be able to discuss abuse maintaining individual culpability: a delicate balance.

I think patriarchy is still very important to keep in the conversation solely because it is as detrimental to men as it is to women the kicker being is that we are wholesale blind to this fact because of the patriarchy in question. Think about how normalized vilonce and abuse of men towards other men is. How our culture has deemed one of the only true ways to be a man is to commit acts of violence. How boys hitting each other is just seen as "boys being boys". What bothers me is how many cases of assault have been thrown away because the man in the situation did not seem themselves worthy of obtaining that justice. And how that lack of closure means that most likely they'll vindicate themselves in the abuse of others. The topic is very deep but since I can only feel empathy for the women affected and not literally put myself in their shoes. I think it's extremely necessary to take the call from inside the house. Because the normalization of male on male abuse has some of the most horrific implications that explain why people Diddy and Kelly were allowed to roam as free as they did for so long.

As a survivor of sexual assault from the time that I was five years old, I have just learn to believe people when they say that something has happened to them because when my abuse was discovered at 15, my father blamed me not the 45-year-old man who started assaulting his daughter at 11 but me my 15-year-old self his friends and my stepmom openly made jokes about it, I’d love to blame it on the baby boomer generation, but we all know that’s a fallacy second and deviant is in every generation .So while others may see these men and feel nostalgic and feel sad, I have no problem muting them and never again listening to their music or watching their movies . Another person who comes to mind is DeShaun Watson and his series of abusive behavior towards massage therapists. The saddest thing is that certain football fans overlooked it because they thought he could help the team win. And he got a massive guaranteed contract in the process. It's one thing to overlook a celebrity's behavior if they kinda happen to be rude or a bit of an ass. But there's lines that some cross that should result in instantaneous shunning by society.

it may help to ask anyway, so you can tweak as you go. transparency is rarely a bad thing

@@CamJames my therapist said the same thing & the few people I've kept in touch with from Job Corps & places I worked at before my accident have asked why did pretend to be a thug at Job Corps & why was I so quiet at work, because I'm a weird, nerdy stoner & proud of it now. That's cooler than wanting to be a thug or being super quiet all the time

3:59 As a black person I take it very seriously! I took it seriously since that first trial of his I was more confused and upset that they couldn't find the victim and come to find out the victim was one of his singers he signed on his label Sparkle that was her niece. And it sickens me that people would defend these sickos but when s*** hit the fan they want to jump ship and play victim one prime example was his ex-wife Andrea Kelly she was so accustomed to living a certain lifestyle but until it got bigger she wants to boo hoo and say he hurt me what about the girls in the 90s those are the only true victims I feel sorry for. I'm just tired of women who allow these men to abuse them cheat on them and do God knows what because they have money but they don't leave them because they're so used to living a certain lifestyle they don't want to leave that. If that were me I would be packing I don't care if you're the richest man in the world if you're going to abuse me or any young girl I would tell my ass off I don't give a damn if you give me a billion dollars to keep me quiet I would burn that billion dollars 😤

And it's not just mainstream entertainment culture. Classical music world has people like Robert King, Philip Pickett, David Daniels who abused and took advantage of their position.
@cecilebraillie447119 күн бұрын
never heard of any of those, except for James Levine, which isn't even on your list

@ yes. Him too. For some reason just the early music people are who came to mind when I made this comment. It’s definitely way more than those four in classical music land.

13:36 I don't agree with that statement. They do not believe they're '' nice ''. They know what they're doing is fugged up, that's why they didn't broadcast it to the world and they had to be exposed for the world to learn about it. You can't believe you're being nice when you force yourself on someone who tells you no, probably cries, is left in a bad state when you leave. You can't believe you're a nice person when (allegedly, I heard that about Diddy) you tell that person that they have to hide for a few days so their injuries get to heal before they're seen in public again, when you beat people, threaten them physically and financially so they keep their mouth shut. You do all that because you know you're not a '' nice '' person and because you know that the public finding out who you truly are would be catastrophic for your brand.

There's degrees of "nice". They may disassociate their treatment of victims from their general demeanor.
@justanoman64972 ай бұрын
I think this is more likely to be "bottom up" in that a portion of people just have the tendency, but only those with power can exercise it and only those that are famous are made widely known. It's not like domestic violence is not a serious concern in all sector of society. It's not even just men. Just that men and women do so differently, with women leaning more toward the psycological side that is harder to quantify and prove.

I grew up listening to Bill Cosby records. I had them all and still know many of the bits by heart. It was very difficult for me to believe his private life was as abusive as it was. But it was.
@ayemiksenoj52542 ай бұрын
One simple truth about why men like this abuse is: because they can. Black women are not protected anywhere near enough to pose a threat to wanna be attackers. Until there is automatic punishment... unfortunately it'll just keep happening.

@@CamJames we're kinda culturally wired to make note of negative stuff.. I feel like it's important to acknowledge the other side.
