It does look pretty good, but I think it might look better if you gave the skeleton a more decayed sort of brown withered dead kind of look. Maybe even have some decayed skin hanging off or have some of the bones be missing in a few places. You know, just a little suggestion.
@skeletonking1 Жыл бұрын
Well since for the average persons body needs to decompose for around 10 years to only be a skeleton so 30 years later there can't be any skin or anything but yes some extra skin would be nice

Helpful tidbit, Afton/ Scraptrap is a redesign. Just like the Withereds. It's the same character but redesigned for the style. Proof from the Withereds is that at the end of FNaF2 the newspaper mentions the old model usage. And Burntrap explains why Afton is a redesign as while Burntrap has a more detailed look, still has flesh globs, a red skull flesh thing, and wire flesh. The foot exists.
@Me-wx1mt2 жыл бұрын
the thing is, scott isn't great at modelling humans, AND this model was only meant to be seen in a very dark environment, and you weren't seeing very much of it at that. PLUS the way that the springlocks work, they would have slid the endo skeleton back into place, replacing Afton's skeleton. Every bone in his body would be shattered, which (to me at least) explains why it's just entrails. but this was a pretty good video, and your design is pretty good.

Finished the video, gotta say, lovely take. Though I still believe the corpse to be mummified. That's what Afton/Scraptrap was going for as a redesign, but unfortunately Scott isn't too good at modeling humans. And yes, despite a few comments mentioning that the springlocks would have crushed his whole ribcage. No. We know that William in the books (although not canon, still function the same) survived a springlock failure and left him scarred. While I'm not saying his ribs would be complete fine, sure some plastic and metal would break a few bones, I do actually like your design. And I really gotta know. Spring Bonnie is yellow... can yellow fabric turn green from mold and wet surroundings?
@freylaverse2 жыл бұрын
Ah, I believe the intent was for the corpse to be mummified as well! But I don't think that would've been possible in such a damp environment. As for the yellow-to-green change... I don't really know! I'm a microbiologist, but I only really work with E. coli and slime mould. Never your run-of-the-mill fabric-infesting mould. I suppose it could, depending on the kind of mould! EDIT: And thank you for pointing out the survivability of springlock failure. That was bugging me about some of the comments but I didn't want to be a "Well, actually" content creator. :P

@@freylaverse oh glad to help. I figured he'd have to be mummified on the count of the fact that people have discovered the corpse and sealed in the room. So I'm thinking that since the suit covers most of William's body, and the room is his tomb, it would preserve skin, maybe thin skin, but yes. Also I shall never stop telling people that William Afton has a cleft chin, so take what you can with this info. You've done a great job in this video and I'm happy to have found you

You intrigued me when you said Afton was a flat, uninteresting character. Might I ask why? What I assume is that you're commenting on the fact that he does not adapt as the story goes on and he has too little about him that's human. If so, I can see that. Lecture Mode: I think Scott should have looked into psychology to better understand his character, which I did for my headcanon. Afton is a high-functioning sociopath. He exhibits all the signs, including narcissism, manipulative tendencies, violent outbursts, and quite possibly a substance problem. No, really! People with ASPD (antisocial personality disorder) are more likely to abuse drugs and alcohol. Well, that and engaging in risky behavior. My hunch is that Afton was abused as a child, which is a huge risk factor in the development of ASPD. Who knows? Maybe his first kill was one of his parents? Focusing on these details immediately makes Afton more interesting. Though there is still a problem: his thorough heartlessness. Afton is a fudging monster, no question about it! But even then, he is still human and needs at least a shred of a heart. People with ASPD can form emotional bonds, but only to certain people. Afton may not give a crap about his kids, and he doesn't, but he does care about his wife. "The Immortal and The Restless" suggests this. It also paves the way for his conscience. Giving Afton a conscience, even a weak one, instantly makes him a more realistic character. Another way to make him more realistic is this: make him want to seek community. People with ASPD more actively seek out intimate social interactions as they grow older. Afton seems to be doing this. He's getting older, and like all rotten bastards, he's getting lonely. Maybe his recruiting Vanny was not just to continue his work? After spending 15-30 years sealed in a hidden room and being in a coma in an underground pizzeria for God knows how long, of course he'd be lonely. Anywho, that's all I have to say.

Hi Jeremiah! I really enjoyed reading your comment. Lots of people hear my (admittedly niche) opinions about FNAF and immediately go on the defensive, so I appreciate you sharing your headcanon without trying to force it on me as the absolute truth, haha! It should be said that when I criticize Afton for being flat and uninteresting, I am referring specifically to the canon William Afton with no extra bells and whistles. I have my own set of headcanons that do make him more well-rounded, and I don't doubt that others have done the same. However, I like to keep these headcanons out of mind when I'm making content that isn't specifically about my headcanons. You're absolutely right about ASPD! I'm not a psychologist (just a biologist) but it is an interest of mine. Your headcanons seem well thought-out, and I'd love to hear more about them! My criticisms about Afton are specifically towards the canon content I've gleaned from the games, and not towards anyone's interpretation of him. :)

Thank you, @@freylaverse. And yes, it's best that we keep our headcanons separate from the lore instead of mashing them together. I learned that the hard way.

@crusaderciaran3252 Жыл бұрын
@@freylaverse it kinda would- in the phone calls it says that the springlocks move backwards out of place so that a human can fit inside. The whole reason afton died inside the springlock suit is because the endoskeleton moved back into place, crushing his own skeleton. There would be some bones left, but not an entire skeleton.
@freylaverse Жыл бұрын
@@crusaderciaran3252 The springlocks are not part of the endoskeleton, they attach onto an endoskeleton. If there were an endoskeleton pulled aside, then no one would ever survive a springlock failure because - as you say - the skeleton would be crushed. However, as my timeline attempts to be a middleground between the books and the games, and the book canon states that it is possible to survive a springlock failure with only body scarring, the only way for this to be possible is if the springlocks do not move an existing endoskeleton into place, but rather try to lock onto whatever is already in there. Hence why I included the crossbeams and other animatronic devices that were NOT part of an endoskeleton (like in the arm).
@CottonArsonist2 жыл бұрын
Cool idea but i feel like it makes him look less terrifying, Springtrap's main points of being terrifying is that he's the rotting corpse of a serial killer mutilated inside of a decrepit old rabbit costume. His eyes still being lit and him forcing his suit around contrasts the other animatronic's more robotic movements and blank eyes. Having a skeleton in a rabbit costume just looks more goofy than actually scary.
@freylaverse2 жыл бұрын
I hear ya'! For me, if the scare factor isn't believable, I can't be scared by it. So, seeing entrails draped randomly over an endoskeleton... Just wouldn't happen. So I have a hard time actually being immersed with that, haha! Not saying everything has to be realistic (it is a ghost story after all) but I think the not-supernatural bits need to be more believable!
@CottonArsonist2 жыл бұрын
@@freylaverse I understand, a nice mix of realism and fantasy can be terrifying when doing a character design. Especially with a series like fnaf where it's all about making real things have a supernatural life to it. But i personally always find Springtrap's character to be quite creepy, at least in pizzaria simulator during the salvage parts. Just something about having a large motionless suit in front of you which has a known killer inside of it, perfectly willing and capable of just attacking you at every moment while their eyes are covered by the shadows of the room lit by only a single light source is just terrifying. Especially with his voice being as it is, sinister and weirdly sophisticated.

@@CottonArsonist Oh, fr? I thought his voice sounded really funny, haha!
