I drive a GMC Acadia, and I bought it outright. Never had a car payment in my life, I just always buy modest cars up front. I’ve had pretty good outcomes buying used cars in the $7-15k range. You’d be surprised at what kind of cars you can get for under $15k! Luxury cars are wonderful, but it’s better to buy used, you save so much $$ that way! 😊

I’ve never understood financing a car. If it’s gonna take you 5 years to pay off a car, why not just…save up for 5 years and buy it with cash? It will cost much less because you don’t pay interest, so you’d actually only have to save for like 3-4 years. That first person is actually smart and has a brain, unlike most other people at that dealership.

I completely share your viewpoint and am trying to never have a car payment. However, some people need a newer/more reliable car for work or their family/safety. Doesn't mean you should go buy a new turd of an electric Merc, but it's understandable to have a car payment for some people.

It's nor realistic to save up for 5 years just so I can pay cash. Lots of us need the car now
@ezekielanderson9055 Жыл бұрын
@@da11king Someone doesn’t know what delayed gratification is 🤡🤡🤡 Just buy an older car for a few thousand dollars that’ll last you 3-4 years until you can buy the newer one with cash. Then resell the older car and get most of your few thousand back. Easy.
@da11king Жыл бұрын
@ezekielanderson9055 Lots of people also have the misfortune of having that old car breakdown often and can't save up enough for that dream to fully pay off 😣 Good car. 🤡
@ezekielanderson9055 Жыл бұрын
@@da11king There are also lots of people (like the ones in this video) are stuck paying $1,000 per month for a brand new car. Then before they even are finished paying it off, it’s reached 100k miles, and it needs some basic, cheap repairs like changing the spark plugs and adding some oil due to a small leak. So they’ll trade it in and finance another brand new car 🤡 Older cars can be worth buying if you know how to fix them. For example my first car was a 2003 Cadillac Seville. I bought it for $3,200 cash and it had 150k miles on it. It was my daily driver for 2 years, and my dad and I spend around $1,000 on some basic repairs here and there, but now the transmission is acting weird. It needed to be replaced and would cost $4,000. I’m not going to replace it because the car isn’t even worth that much, but even if I did fix it, that would still be WAY cheaper than financing a brand new $30,000 car. Now I drive a 2007 Tahoe that my dad is letting me borrow until I finish college. Dad bought it for $7,000, 205k miles on it, brand new transmission. It needs a $100 part replaced every now and then, but it’ll last years as long as I take care of it. Most of the vehicles my family has own have lasted over 200k miles. Our Escalade is almost at 300k miles. And all of the money we put into some basic repairs add up to be WAY less than you people spend on financing brand new vehicles. So we get the last laugh.

I’ll never forget I’ve picked up a lady from the Mercedes-Benz dealership in Buckhead Atlanta and I had a long route I end up dropping her off at this huge house but I seen minivans in front of her house and she said you’re probably wondering why I have minivans and that a Mercedes And I said yes, she said as a manager and she had been with the company for a decade. She said all the money that she makes goes to her house and her children and that Mercedes are honestly only for older people who actually can afford it she can’t afford it but her not buying a Mercedes was able to essentially pay off her house and her cars and she lives very well so even her taking a Lyft to work every day because she doesn’t want to drive is still affordable , she also told me that a lot of people that buy Mercedes that are young cannot afford it and they can’t afford to maintain it. That was the best advice ever. Essentially don’t buy a Mercedes unless you truly can’t afford the maintenance if you cannot afford the maintenance on a car don’t buy it. I think her for that every day.
