I don’t think your assessment of Bernard Coard is quite accurate. From my understanding, some people within the New Jewel Movement felt that Maurice Bishop was slowing or even halting on the progress of the revolution. Thus these people, headed by Coard, removed Bishop and unfortunately killed him. It wasn’t until the US invasion that the Grenadian revolution was killed.

Comrade Bishop was key in inspiring the Grenadian people and defending the country on the world stage. The revolutionary government was only 4 years old. They were still in the process of drafting a new constitution. Bernard Coard murdered Maurice and his friends and supporters for his own ambition for power. Coard was in effect a counter revolutionary and his unjustifiable murder of Comrade Bishop, along with his pregnant wife, and gunning down the masses who were making their will known gave the U.S. imperialists every excuse they needed to invade Grenada, ending the revolution. You must study the history more before making a statement friend. I recommend you amend or delete your comment. Don’t defend Stalinist dictators
