I've had singles, V-twins, parallel twins, boxer engines, triples, 4 and 6 cylinder engines in the 50 years I've been riding and loved riding each and every one of them!

As I am learning mote and more by doing my own maintenance on my bikes I would say I wanna downgrade in the near future to an all rounder SMALLER adv and maybe keep the relic Harley for the ride… I like pistachio ice cream btw🤣🤣

My low end choice for a bike would still be a Victory. That engine is designed well for servicing and reliability. Also not too many electronic bells and whistles to deal with. My top choice would be a Goldwing DCT. You know how great the center of gravity is and how it handles, can't be beaten. Fortunately I can work on something that complicated. The moving headlight like the BMW, nah. I installed fog lights to deal with those nighttime blindspots. It works well and I noticed cagers see you better during the day. Being a rider who looks out for motorcycles it's sometimes hard to see them in heavy traffic. The extra lights do make it easier to see them.

My highest tech bike will be my 2016 Scout. As you know it really doesn't have much tech other than ABS. I want just the basic two wheeler that goes down the road with the use of my input. No ride modes other than my control on the throttle and brakes. Simple, no bells, and whistles. Just me on two wheels, traveling down the road like those that have come before me since 1901 and 1903. That's it for me in a nutshell. Loved the video and seeing you on your Wing going down the road! Ride and stay safe ABUSA!

I like the new touring bikes from Honda,Bmw,Harley, the tech has reached a point where it"s not to troublesome, but makes the bikes so expensive.

Interesting post. I follow a gent named Kevin he has a channel called Mcrider and he explained in one of his post "why I sold my Honda Goldwing for a Indian Challenger". Even though he really liked his GW. Oddly enough he used ice cream as an analogy as well. My flavor is more brand loyalty "mostly" rather than bike dynamics, esthetics or performance. I have owned mostly Hondas and of them 6 Goldwings beginning with the first one in 1975 ( yes I'm old😅) The thing with me is ride what YOU like I've never turned my nose up to anyone with their knees in the breeze. I currently own a 22 GW and a 23 Can Am Spyder RT ( dont want to get into the bike/not a bike drama 😅) and I enjoy them both equally but my heart will always bleed Honda. Nice post and if you get a chance check out Mcrider's response to his situation he nailed it.Take care😊

I love my Voyager but I also love my bolt. It's nice to have options. Some days you want tunes, windshields and cruise control but some days, I want to barhop around town. I would like to add 3 more to the barn. 955 Daytona, Speed triple and my old TL1000R I had to sell.

Oh boy, you've brought up so many aspects of bikes to comment about. Neapolitan ice cream would be my favorite flavor for a motorcycle. A little bit of chocolate for off pavement, not off road. I just want to see some forest roads or old country roads like you've shown us in the Georgia mountains. Off roading was never my choice of riding. A little bit of strawberry for the electronics. Non adaptive cruise control, heated grips, no ABS/TC/IMU. Mostly vanilla for cruising and touring. So just like the Neapolitan ice cream where they give you more vanilla than the other two flavors would be the ratio in my bike and riding choices.

The ABS/TC/IMU issue. When driving a car, until it actually happens to you. You never realize how little it takes to break traction accelerating or braking. How little it takes to end up in a skid while turning too hard in snow or rain. So when I was 16 years old I found out by hitting the gas and braking hard in a large snow covered parking lot. Drivers today don't realize some of these things because they've never been without ABS or anti slip acceleration or cornering. And since there isn't any driver training in public schools now, it just compounds the situation of inexperienced drivers and riders. I hate ABS because I've driven semis with and without it. In a panic stop where some dumba$$ has cut you off, the first thought that goes through your mind is if this thing is ever going to stop. Without ABS, not so bad. I just have to make sure the trailer doesn't break traction and start catching up with the truck.

I like tech right up to the point it fails or become costly to fix. I think the branded screens most manufactures are putting on for gps and tft are junk compared to a basic smartphone. I wish they would just make a great app. This let's the customer scale or delete the screen entirely

Two cylinders are enough and after more then 40 years of bmw boxer now a small 90° V2 (as a retirement home 😅 ), with as little electronic gobbledygook as possible. I'm too old for this rubbish.
