Hi, in my opinion Freya started at 10:00 in the middle lane which (according to the marking) allowed only to go straight ahead, 2nd exit. When entering the roundabout, she didn't go into the correct lane, but drove into the lane right next to this lane which physically also led to the 3rd exit. She should've initially taken the rightmost lane up to the 2nd exit, then signalled left and spiraled out. A bit complicated, but I love roundabouts...@@giovanniiiiillx

Finally passed last week with 0 minors after 12 years of on and off learning! I wanted to give a little something to say thank you! As many people on this channel will agree, your videos were invaluable at supporting my learning- it’s clear how passionate you are and how much effort goes into your content and making it as accessible as possible to different levels of experience By using your tips I was even able to impress my instructor at times (I recommend people to check out your roundabout/mini roundabout lessons in particular) Weirdly, on my first test attempt in the morning, I was 5 mins from returning to the test centre when the dashboard warning lights lit up like a Christmas tree! Of all the things to prepare for, a fault with the car wasn’t one I had considered! Even the examiner was stumped. The test had to be terminated (I was on track for a strong pass) but luckily the car was repaired and I was able to do a second test in the afternoon! 😅 not sure if anyone has had this before? Anyway, good luck to anyone on this channel still on their learner journey, thanks again! 🎉

The type of Sat Nav they use on test does tell you which way to turn at roundabouts and the exit number. The second exit on a roundabout could be left, straight on or right depending on road layout. However on test Sat Nav says Go left, Cross the roundabout or Go right followed by 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc. exit. This helps sort out lane choice significantly. If the Sat Nav wanted you to do a U turn it would say Go around the roundabout 3rd, 4th, 5th exit etc.. The actual route as on your unit and the unit on test is displayed as a graphic map with diagram of the layout.

Also all the large arrows pointed forward (none indicated a right turn) and the sign for the roundabout showed equally thick lines for each exit. The driver is in the middle lane which is marked to follow the road ahead and turned right. The lane to her right is also marked as able to follow the road ahead. This can easily cause a crash with someone who might have used the right-hand lane to follow the road ahead. In my experience, faults like this have been marked as both a serious for markings and a serious for mirrors change direction, so even if she did notice and check the mirrors on the roundabout, I don't think it's passable.
@joecawte9878
@joecawte9878 23 күн бұрын
@@user-mv5zt8qd9l in your example though, wouldn’t that mean the person in the right hand lane who’s trying to exit at the road ahead is not following the 12 o’clock rule so could be at fault? On second review, maybe she should have taken up the left hand lane once she entered the roundabout if she was starting in the middle lane? Maybe that’s what Richard meant

That roundabout in min 10:00 response to road markings, I get approaching in the lane that is for exist straight ahead but actually middle lane on roundabout she joined did lead her onto third exit as well (as the outer lane). So she did not even have to change lanes to exit roundabout. So lane was drawn in that way to lead you out straight or onto the next right exit. Is that really a mistake to follow that lane if she was indicating right?

The road markings on and before the roundabout at 9.10 are definately altered from the original design. Left lanes have been hatched out at times on the circle, then re-open and the middle lane as driven seem to feed to that righthand exit correctly. Definately not clear. This is tricky for anyone unfamilier with the layout and the same types of changes unfortunately reoccurs throughout the UK. Signage and road markings not reinforcing each other. If you are lucky enough for either to be present.

I had that happen to me! I drive an i10 and got upgraded to a much bigger car when hiring a car. I actually didn't find it much of an upgrade initially because I was so nervous about the big car. It did have a reversing camera and sensors though, so it was actually okay to park.

I drove it home fine but quiet on the roads compared to the morning rush hour so think I’ll be getting a taxi for work but will go out locally when it’s quieter as might as well try the car out.

That ending was brilliant 😂😂 But I'm curious @ 8:30 how it's a fault coz there's a road on the left before the exit, or perhaps since its a one way street the left signal wont be misleading. Interesting 😊
@888SpinR
@888SpinR 23 күн бұрын
It's because the road joins after the exit rather than on the roundabout. The road sign indicates there is only one exit there and the road markings ahead shows the edge of the roundabout just before the lane splits (albeit the markings aren't the best). The first signal died and she forgot to reapply it on approach.

I'm not really sure who the signal would be useful to anyway, especially when the driver is passing that road immediately after the exit?

It's a one way street she is passing, no one should be coming out of that road. She needs the signal to help others joining the roundabout know she is leaving.

I feel like the The roundabout at 10minutes is a fail anyways as there were three lanes. The left most lane was left only. So she was in lane 1 for straight on on approach and the right most lane is the lane 2 for straight on. So after the first exit, she should have already gone the the left most lane on the roundabout straight away, but she went into the middle lane instead, which if there was a car in the right lane, she would have cut that car off at that point.

It looks uncomfortable for her having to stretch for the clutch like that. Good that not all cars are like that as I'm a short person myself and I have to have the seat pulled all the way froward in my instructor's car

I am planning to take my test as soon as possible as I feel I am ready for the test but would love to take a mock test with you and see where I am after taking 75-plus hours of driving lessons with my instructor. please give me a chance to take a mock test with you.

My wife's test examiner hadn't used deodorant and he smelt. It gave her headache and she failed her test. She passed eventually. I think examiners should check themselves and be at least clean and not wearing lots of aftershave or perfume either. It can be distracting being in a car with that.

You didn't do anything to avoid the curb being hit by pulling the wheel toward it. It was fine and if it wasn't, the wheel grab wouldn't have saved it. 9:49 is also not a serious, the lane choice was fine.

Going right in the middle lane in that roundabout causes danger especially as the right lane can go ahead.
@Chaosvex

@@ConquerDriving You surely can't fail somebody when they followed the lanes correctly. The markings on the lanes being questionable is another issue. I looked up the roundabout and I can see there are cars doing exactly the same thing, which doesn't necessarily mean it's correct but in this instance, it doesn't seem to be incorrect either.

10:05 Why is she in the wrong lane here? Looks perfectly fine to me, she doesn't cut across any lanes and sticks to her lane and comes off the roundabout perfectly fine. Both lanes have the forward arrow on them so I really don't see the issue?

She is going right and she is in a lane for ahead. She should be in the right lane. The added danger is the right lane and also go ahead. This video may help: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oaCukJRqgL6mY6csi=B4bPsUROPWem5ZHW

Ah okay I see the problem now, that's a very confusing roundabout. 2 lanes coming on and only 1 coming off straight ahead so someone in the right lane going straight on has to cut across and potentially block the roundabout waiting for a spot to come off. Seems very dangerous to me but I see the problem now. if someone in the right lane was going straight on she would have cut into them causing an accident. Why on earth didn't they make the right hand lane a dedicated turn right lane? I don't know this area and that roundabout would have confused the hell out of me if I was in the right hand lane and wanted to go straight forward, cutting across lanes and potentially into people to come off.

Hi friend, love your videos! I’m an American who frequently travels to UK for work and fun and your videos have been immensely informative when it comes to driving in UK. If you’re open to the idea, I would love to be featured in one of your videos! I can give you and your audience my perspective on UK driving as an American driver of 10 years, and you can perhaps watch me drive and point out just how many mistakes I would be making on British roads😅. Let me know if that is something you’re willing to do! I can either bring my car and come to you or you can come to me with your car (in UK of course).

I took someone on test last year who drove off without her seat belt. As soon as she left the test centre and started speeding up, the alarm went off and she immediately went for her seat belt. The examiner got her pulled over (had to tell her to signal because she forgot). Interestingly, there was no mark for it on her test report.

Supposing I get a serious fault in the reverse park like the very first one the learner got there. Why should faults like those go down as serious ones yet nobody will have been affected by what I will have done supposing I park further away from the kerb with nobody around? Or does it depend on the likelihood of causing accidents?
