How do you find your ring size?
You know how when you see an awesome commercial online for a badass ring, you click on it, fall in love and are ready to order… Then boom, it hits you. You don’t know your size! Let’s fix that.
What up guys! Welcome back. Archie here from Manly Bands and today we are going to be talking about the importance of making sure you know what size ring you wear.
Rule number 1: DON’T GUESS! If you guess, you’ll end up like this guy…
There are so many different easy options for you that you shouldn’t have to guess. Guys you know how when you take your socks off and you throw them at your hamper and nail it on the first shot!?
Yeah, that’s what it’s like getting a ring that fits on the first try. If not, you have to get up, walk all the way over to the hamper and pick them back up… and if you are competitive like me and don’t accept failure, you are going to go get those socks, come back and try to nail that 3 pointer again.
That’s just too much work. Do it right the first time.
The first option we have here at Manly Bands is our traditional ring sizer. This has been a huge success for us and over 300k other dudes over the years. The way this works is you purchase this ring sizer ahead of time. When you receive it, you slide your finger into whichever one you think will fit first.
Now the rule of thumb… or I guess it would be the rule of ring finger? Oh! Fun fact!
Did you know that the official name for your ring finger is actually digitus medicinalis? Also known as the “fourth finger”. And the reason it was adopted as the ring finger is because Egyptians believed that there was a vein in the fourth finger, known as the lover's vein, that was connected to the heart. As awesome as this story is... (insert spoiler alert graphics)... it’s not true. But let’s not kill tradition.
Anyways, you want to find the smallest size that will fit over the widest part of your knuckle with just the slightest bit of resistance without getting stuck.
If it slides on with ease, it’s a little too bit. If your knuckle skin is wrinkling up as you try to force it on, it’s too small. If you have a tiny bit of resistance then feel it pop on, that's the one.
I highly recommend you take the ring off of the clip and wear it around during normal activities to ensure that it is a comfortable fit. Once you nail down your size, now you are ready to order a new ring!

Option 2 - New for 2021, we have our new flat sizer. Similar to the traditional sizer, these are best to try on and wear around for the day to ensure a comfortable fit. Since most of our rings come in 8mm widths, this gives you a better feel for what a ring is going to feel like throughout your day.

Now with this method, because there is room for human error, we highly recommend you repeat this process 2-3 times to ensure an accurate read.
