What Scorsese's Raging Bull Taught Me About Movies

Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro teamed up in the late 70's to bring middleweight champion Jake LaMotta's story of jealousy and atonement to the cinema. They had no idea that this film would one day be considered Scorsese's greatest work, as well as De Niro's most powerful performance. And I had no idea how much this movie would effect me when I watched it as a teenager. In a way, Raging Bull is the reason I made this channel.

I’ve watched a few videos about Raging Bull. Yours is by far the best… the story details from the book are great to know. I liked Raging Bull, it had me hooked the entire time watching it and I can’t stop thinking about it since. Will probably watch it again soon. It was a movie unlike any other I’ve seen. I didn’t enjoy seeing Jake act the way he did, but by the end I did think it was a beautiful telling of his story, and the sort of redemption by the end was satisfying.

I loved every Scorsese movie I’ve seen so far and Raging Bull, King Of Comedy and Bringing Out The Dead are on the top of my watchlist since many months, but somehow I didn’t manage to watch them until today. But after seeing this video Raging Bull will probably be the next film I’ll be watching
