I've been using my Anytone AT-6666 Pro for about two weeks now, and these are the settings and features I like best so far.

V1.01 (QX6666P_H_V101_20240920) firmware update : - Add MEMORY copy to VFO feature. (Press BAND while in MEM mode to copy the frequency and settings to VFO (uF) mode). - Stop the overwriting of saved MEMORY channels. (Changes to saved MEMORY channels are temporary). - Add TXCOLOR menu item. (Allows setting of a different LCD backlight color in TX mode). - Add SCAN to the PF.KEY selection list. - Add CW.RX menu item. (Allows setting of CW-U (USB) and CW-L (LSB) modes). - Add CW.BKIN menu item. (Allows setting of the CW break-in delay from 0-1000ms). - Add CW.SHIF menu item. (Setting "ON" will shift/offset the RX frequency in CW mode to the value set in the CW.FREQ menu. This will set the CW RX tone and CW TX sidetone to the same frequency, automatically). - Add support for the PC Alignment (service mode) software tool. - Add Firmware Version menu item (VER.xxx). 73

TOT = Time Out Timer (The time you have left before the radio will stop your transmission)

How to turn it off
@delboyonline2 ай бұрын
@Berchman-oq4tj go into the function menu and find TOT SET. You can adjust the number of seconds or turn it off. Personally I wouldn't turn it off, I have mine set at 300 seconds (5 mins).

I have posted elsewhere here, but be aware that I recently had one turned on, not even connected to an antenna, and for some unknown reason, some kind of thermal runaway happened, and melted the Positive lead at the PCB ! Fortunately It was sitting in front of me, when I smelled something burning ! Caveat emptor ! Don't leave them unattended powered on ! Just to be safe !

If there was that large of a problem for you, why did your fuse not blow? It doesn't really make sense, to be honest. There are thousands of these radios in use with no issues like what you have mentioned at all. Hopefully you can solve the issue you had. 73

@@mostlypostie1 As to the fuse not blowing, believe me, that's one of the first things I checked, but I didn't check the resistance across the fuse, just a visual at the time, but we're on the same page there ! I have been trying to reach Anytone thru their website, but each time I think I've sent a message, it comes back with a 404 page, with Chinese writing that Google can't translate ! I am in communication with someone that works for a Company that sells Anytone radios, but unfortunately not this type. But he has acted as liaison sending messages to the Company, and no response as yet ! Hopefully this isn't a wide spread issue, as this is too dangerous to ignore ! Believe me, if I use one, I will not leave it unattended, and if installed in my mobile, I will find a way to remove power, when not in use ! As many radios are designed to have power oñ the finals, regardless if the radio is powered on, or off ! And now having said that, I wonder if a final failed and caused the issue ? If you're not familiar, these radios run extremely Hot ! They are the hottest running radio bar none, that I have witnessed in over 44 years of Amateur Radio alone ! Whether that is related to this issue, obviously is unknown ? Sadly, I was bragging these radios up, prior to this incident, and I still do ! As I think they are way ahead of the radios like the Uniden HR 2600's, or HTX 10's etc. ! Hopefully I'll be able to return the radio to the Company, and they will diagnose what happened ? Instead of simply throw the radio away, as I was directed to do by an Amazon associate !

@@mostlypostie1 There are always one off situations where everything happens just right. My guess is a software error, that only affects a rare combination of factors.

Where does the CW Morse key fit?

From what I have read, you will need to modify the microphone to make it work. There are some videos on KZbin. 73s!
