I think having the different colours of lanterns as different roles could be fun. Greens as tanks, with the different skins being different characters, then red lanterns (probably Atrocitus) as dps and blue or even pink lantern as support. Hell you could even do blue lantern as a buffing support character and star saffires as a healing support, the lantern rings have such versatile powers you could build an entire roster with just them

My list Tank: Superman, Wonderwoman, Martien Manhunter, Cyborg, Hawkgirl, Red tornado, Lex luthor, Black Manta, Darkseid, Bane, Doomsday, Plastic Man, Lobo, Atrocitus, killer croc. DPS: Batman, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Robin, Static Shock, Starfire, Raven, Cheetah, Deathstroke, Harley Quinn, Firestorm, Peacemaker, Enchantress, reverse flash. My one critique of your roster picks would be there arn’t enough deep cuts apart from Sideways and Dr. Fate. Marvel Rivals of course has the heavy hitters like Spider-Man, storm, ironman, hulk etc, but also some obscure ones like Luna Snow, Cloak & Dagger, Hit Monkey (in leaks) and Magik (also Galacta even though she isn’t a playable character). Adding a few weird picks could definatly add some variety to the roster. Some of my “weird” picks would include - Renee Montoya: I figured a ground level non-powered side character could be a nice way to add variety to the super powered heroes. Plus as a cop Renee already has decent combat experience, as well as some hero work under her belt as the Question in the comics. - Mother Panic: basically a vengeful cyborg vigilante with a cool white costume design that loosely mirrors batman. Could make for a great aggressive duellist. - Booster Gold: enough said. - Monsieur Mallah & the Brain, because a) you can’t have enough big monke and B) if a super intelligent French gorilla with a mchine gun and a mad scientists brain in a jar who are canonically lovers isn’t a perfect “weird pick” for a game roster I don’t know what is.

Add Shazam as a cross between a support and a Tank Most of the time Shazam flies around as a Tank punching people and blasting them with lightning But he has a ability called “ Shazam Family” where he can give HP and DPS buffs yo other characters at the expense of his HP If he overuses his buff ability then he reverts into a Billy Batson form where it’s just a little kid with low hp running around with a baseball bat or something

Yeah the Flashes are the ones who'll be hard to translate into hero shooter games. One of the aspect of Rivals that made the game is good is their character design like how they implemented the characters history and powers into the abilities in the game so when you play them you feel like actually playing them.

You can't be too fast that the enemy can't hit you but if you are then it doesn't feel like you playing Flash at all. I guess giving them some kind of cooldown for their superspeed could work and/or giving them the "wider" hitboxes with the afterimages they produce while running is kinda a solution , just big maybe.

In marvel rivals spider man is really fast and hard to hit but has low health. Could be the same with flash. Either flash has a stamina bar that depletes, or he has quick dashes that he can do in any direction he’s moving. Kinda like tracer in overwatch. Give him 3 dashes. He can run on walls. He can throw lighting, he can do speed punches as an ability. His ult could be where he runs around in a circle gathering up the enemy team in a tornado doing damage then shoots them out. Which could lead to team wiping if he shoots them off the map, or if they fly back and hit a wall it does massive damage. Another ult option is his super sonic punch or whatever it’s called I’m blanking on the name. But basically they can do animation were he runs around the world in a flash or not he could just do a charge up run like getting in position like he’s about to race/do a charge then the actual ult will be in a line stopping at the first enemy doing massive damage as he does a punch If the enemy is killed from the punch, flash can do it again and keep doing it until he either misses, an enemy doesn’t die from it, or there’s no enemies left. Kinda like winter soldiers ult.

This is a really great roster. Love some of the more unexpected picks like Sideways. I also had the thought in the Flash's section that he could give his speed to his allies or take away his enemies' speed. Now onto my character suggestions: 1. Batgirl (Cassandra Cain: I really like her, so that's why she's here. Her ability to predict the moves of others could make her a very unique dps or support hero. 2. The Atom: He could have a gimmick where he shrinks and grows. His nature as a scientist could come in too. Overall, weird but fun support character. 3. Plastic Man: Endless possibilities with his shapeshifting abilities. He could fit any role, but he could be a unique form of tank. 4. Static: A sick dps that flies around on a metal board and fires off lightning attacks. He could have some team-ups with some metal characters. 5. Music Mister: A funny, more obscure pick; we got to have some more campy characters in these kinds of games. He would be a support character who uses music to buff and debuff people. His ultimate could be him using his music to take control of an enemy, or at least turn on friendly fire for the enemy team. Edit: 6. Terra: Her geokinetic powers could make her a very interesting tank that focuses on controlling the battlefield.

It's so fun to imagine things like this. Personally, I hope that DC doesn't make a game like this simply to rival Marvel Rivals, but that they try to look for other approaches to make a fun and long-lasting game (unlike most of the games they've released in the past). Maybe they could even revive some projects, like that moba from 2015. Also, my suggestion for a possible character would be Star Sapphire. I LOVE HER AND I DESPERATELY NEED MORE OF HER. I feel like Aphrodite from Smite would be an obvious inspiration, where she could create a bond with an ally and increase their movement speed and healing. Maybe a crystal wall? Which can reflect damage and repel enemies that touch it.

Here's a character I think could have a lot of potential: Scarecrow He could kind of be like the hulk in rivals in the sense that his ultimate is what you mostly play as. In the beginning you could be just regular Jonathan with a mask gun and tank of gas. But then you place the tank down and turn the value once you have the ultimate and you become a monster scarecrow that I think would work best like a road hog type of tank. In one hand a chain and the other a scythe. Maybe a gas grenade he could throw too or something. Overall I think he could be a really cool tank character!

I've also have a few ideas for characters, also few nobrainers. Bane (Tank) - Big beefy Tank who would have a similiar ultimate as Hulk where he overdoses himself with Venom and gets even bigger and meaner. Like Hulk he should have a grab attack in this form where he breaks the back of the enemy. Deadshot (DPS) - The best sharpshooter in the world is a nobrainer. You could use a sniper rifle on distance and his faster wrist guns for close combat. You could also give him an arsenal of trick bullets. Poison Ivy (Support) - She would work similar to Mantis with her plant based support abilities and stuns. Black Manta (DPS) - He has big lasers, harpoons and sharp blades. I don't think he needs much explaining. Mister Freeze (Tank) - His armor gives him great protection while he could use his cryo weapons to attack his enemies and create walls for his allies. Killer Frost (DPS) - DPS version of Mister Freeze with focus on dealing damage with various ice based attacks. You could turn her into a supporter like Luna Snow. Owlman (DPS) - The DPS version of Batman. Blight (DPS) - I think he could have a focus on AOE damage. And also imagine his voice lines. "And behold, I shall be a blight upon the land. And everything I touch shall wither, and die!" Red Robin (Support) - Tim Drake as the smartest member of the Bat-Family would be like Batman a great support character. Bloodsport (DPS) - Would be this games version of the Punisher, a guy with a variety of different weapons. Firefly (DPS) - A pyromaniac with a jetpack is a simple but fun concept. Killer Moth (Support) - As the Batman for criminals I think he should be placed in a support role. Bronze Tiger OR Lady Shiva (DPS): They would be to similar to be both in the game. Would work as H2H DPS like Iron Fist. Enchantress (Support) - She could work like Cloak and Dagger where June heals her allies and Enchantress attacks her enemies with dark magic. Peacemaker (DPS) - Big guns and various helmet abilities. Ah yes and they should add Codpiece because it would be hilarious.

I like your choices, allow me to throw out three more, just for fun. First for the tank, you absolutely need Solomon Grundy. He'd be slow and be on the lower side of damage, but have an ungodly amount of health and just be so big that he's basically a walking wall. A meat shield for the team. Maybe as a passive when he dies he drops a gravestone and unless the enemy team destroys it before his respawn timer goes off he respawns right there so he's right back in the battle. Next for damage, I feel we also need to bring in some lesser known characters so I'm going with Cheshire. She's an assassin that specializes in poisons so I figure she would have low burst damage but lots of DOT effects that would cripple tanks and make healers jobs way harder. Finally for support, and this ones a bit outside the box but, Time Trapper. Imagine him laying down mines that freeze the enemies in time, letting you and your team get away or set up surrounds. Or rewinding his teammates after a fight back to when they had full health. And possibly an ultimate where he has a large aura that speeds up his teammates cooldowns while slowing down the other team's.

Not gonna lie man, I have multiple Google docs since 2022 about this very topic. In my head it was more of a pve experience with teams of six characters who share a background, like the bat family or the suicide squad. At this point I have most of the moves and even skins conceptualized (52 heroes, 52 villains) If I had to narrow it down to thirty, it would be: Tank- Superman, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Gorilla Grodd, Swamp Thing, Ares, Hawkman+Hawkwoman (both at the same time), Darkseid, Starro, Terra Damage- Batman, Nightwing, Joker, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Shazam, Deadshot, Black Manta, Sinestro, Lobo Support- Star Sapphire, Talia Al Ghul, Harley Quinn, Gizmo, Cheshire, Huntress, Mera, Mister Miracle, The Flash, Steel Just off the top of my head without too much thought. Though some of my favorites also include Killer Moth, Etrigan, Larfleeze, Batgirl on a motorcycle, the Atom, the flash but Wally as a tank, another Green Lantern but Kyle as a different style of damage, and Lagoon Boy. This is what I did for a few months instead of finding a job BTW.

I think DPS, as a role, is more catered to taking angles and denying space (through threat of death) than Supports in hero shooters. I’m not saying Supports should only heal allies, but healing always ends up being paramount in the meta. First and foremost, I’d give every Support the ability to heal (to varying degrees), hold angles (with skill-based sustain), and enable teammates. In conclusion, I think Joker, The Flash, Martian Manhunter, Mr. Miracle, and (maybe) Batman fit better in the DPS role. Whereas Cyborg, Green Lantern, and Atrocitous might fit better as supports. Green Lantern is tricky though, a true jack of all trades. Great video!!!

They'd come out with the game, initially it would look great, but with a 'too small' roster. Then they'd be slow on making balancing tweaks and would annoy the player base. When they add new characters, they'd get completely new voice actors to add in new voice lines to the pre-existing characters, confusing the player base. Then after maybe two or three years they'd can the project and start over from scratch with all the exact same issues.

Nice. If i made my own roster id make it like this. *TANKS* SUPERMAN(but maybe give him some Dps-ness too)-High health, self shield. Give him superman powers too, lazer vision, flight, freeze breath and maybe have him shoot a mini-Superman out of his hand. His ultimate could be a lazer vision AOE like he did that one time in the comics( the one that drained his energy). LEX LUTHOR(i imagine a long range tank) Give him decently high health, Self shield for his selfish nature, long/mid-ranged lazers and rockets and limited flight, slow movement. Also itd be funny if he did a hulk/dva and abandoned his suit when he died instead of just dying. DARKSEID-High health, lazer vision that you can manually control until it hits something or fades away( or just make it track enemys in a certain area), have him summon parademons too ( 1 that does little damage but has moderate health, 1 that has little health but does moderate damage and 1 that can heal allies in a small area but has little health and little defence), and boomtube teleportation for short distances or long distances if you want a Dr. Strange type portal. BAIN GIGANTA CYBORG GORILLA GRODD- if the maps have distructabke environments like in marvel rivals, we can give him an abilty to weaponize the rubble. BLUE SNOWMAN- ice walls and maybe some other cold based abilities like an ice armour that damages melee atttackers. A LANTERN CHARACTER *DPS* BATMAN(with some support)-Fists at close range and a variaty of batarangs at a distance. (A more stealthy playstyle) so a smoke bomb for when things get too spicy. Gliding and a grappling hook. For his ultimate i think giving him his Hellbat suit would be awesome. (So Higher health, New abilities like the bat lazer and wonder woman punch but his health decreases as he is using it and when his health hits zero the ultimate ends) CHEETAH- Fast paced, High mobility, High damage, melee fighter. The rest writes itself. SUPERGIRL(a more dps, less tank version of Superman)-so all the same abilites with some variation but more movement and damage. Dr Fate- Magic dps. DEADSHOT/DEATHSTROKE/BLOODSPORT/RED HOOD(any of these guys work here)-Guns, knives, swords. GREEN ARROW BLACK CANARY BATGIRL WONDER GIRL FLASH AQUAMAN A LANTERN CHARACTER *SUPPORT* WONDER WOMAN(a support tank mix)- a skill based bracelet block to stop oncoming projectiles, Purple healing ray to heal allies, Lasso of truth for crowd control or pulling enemies closer to you. Boomarang tiara for a ranged attacks. And good old fist for melee attacks. Her ultimate could be a AOE buff that shares the gifts of the goddesses to her allies so more health/healing, increased speed and whatnot. I imagine a support that fights on the frontlines or middle of the group instead of staying at the back. JOKER(doesnt heal but does crowd control and debuffs enemies)- sets up pranks(traps) that enemies can stumble into. Clown flame thrower that burns enemies for a short time or sets an area on fire for a short time to block movement. A pistol or machine gun for damage and a Ultimate that spread Joker gas across an area( i imagine it being a gas tank that joker throws into a crowd and quickly spreads joker gas to enemies and maybe if you shoot the gas tank before it lands on the ground it spreads the gas INSTANTLY to anyone in that area). CIRCE- support magic that fools enemies heals allies, debuffs enemies, deals damage, and maybe an ability that summons weak beasts and chimeras to fight for you when allies die. ZATTANA- (some wierd magic tricks thay have a large variaty of effects. Really make a show of it) maybe an ability that cuts enemies and half so the seperate parts mkve independantly and allies can attack either half to do damage. Turn ultimates into confetti or something like that. STARFIRE ARES(general type character)- buffs and debuffs and can fight decently when attacked. BRAINIAC- summons robots, uses technology A LANTERN CHARACTER Add in a few other characters of your choosing and yiu got yourself a hero shoooter.

LANTERN CHARACTERS: *DPS:* ATROCITUS: High damage, tank-ish health, Shotgun-like main attack, flight, he can use Dexx-Star as a pseudo turret that follows him around or can be left stationary, his passive would be a rage meter that increases His damage when losign health or doing damage. His Ultimate would be similar to Black Panther's but with a Bull. LARFLEEZE: Low health, Sniper-like main attack, flight, summoner character that creates ai Orange lanterns that like to get Up close. His passive is that whenever he eliminates an enemy they will drop an Orange orb that once picked Up by him will grant him bonus damage and health. Enemies can destroy it to prevent It from being picked Up causing It to explode in a small radius. STAR SAPPHIRE: Healer/damage character which i imagine would be similar to i think Persefone from Smite. GUY GARDNER: He'd be the Engineer of this Game, building offensive structures that deal a good ammount of damage. His main attack would be a close range burst and his secondary mouse button would be a melee attack that reduces the cooldown on his repair ability for the structures, he also has a rage meter similarly to atrocitus. *TANK:* JON STEWART: He'd be able to build defensive structures and would have some healing abilities related to his past as a soldier making him a pseudo support. He'd be a poke TANK meaning he's better off attacking from a far. His Ultimate could perhaps be a Giant sphere that traps enemies caught inside and gives allies free movement within It. *HAL JORDAN:* He'd a dive TANK, meaning he has High mobility and moderate damage. His kit would involve flight, jets, boxing gloves, baseball bats, and self healing. His Ultimate would be him controlling a Giant robot construct with a lot of health and damage but reduced mobility. *SUPPORT* SAINT WALKER: He'd be the stereotipical healer like Medic or Mercy. *PS:* When a LANTERN runs out of ammo a message pops Up on screen that says "Low energy", the reload animation would be them pulling the LANTERN and charging the ring.

Maybe like a bulkier Mr. Freeze, with maybe a sliding charge by freezing the ground. Then again, you could just have Mr. Freeze himself, and he’d be a more agile sharpshooter/support

This might be a stupid idea, but here goes - if there would be a DC Rivals of sort, I would like to see a new 4th role - no-role/flex/hybrid. Let's be honest, DC characters, compared to most of Marvel, are absolutely busted and there's no way you can contain some in a single role. Of course this role couldn't have many characters, but I'd love for example Beast Boy to be able to have 4 forms - base for fast swapping, bear for tank, kangaroo for DPS, and kitten for support. He could technically do everything, but his kits are basic and transformations would be on individual cooldowns, so once you're in a role you have to commit to it - no turning back to healer if you just changed from it. Same way I think Plastic Man could absolutely be both a tank and DPS, and it would be the most accurate portrayal, so why not? Blue Beetle and the lanterns are in the same boat, and hell, Batman is literally based on the fact that he is prepared for every situation and is flexible, he can be a mix of support and DPS and I feel like he'd do great

It doesn't have to be like marvel rivals format. Just a the development team really dive in these dc characters and shine light to some(for example how everyone was backside when they didnt go for Danny Rand as Iron fist).

Cool video, as a DC Fan enjoying Marvel Rivals makes me wish for a DC hero shooter and I just kept thinking of characters that can fit and be really cool in a game like that Swamp Things for Tank/Support Atrocitus as a Tank and Dex-Starr as a DPS by themselves Red Tornado as a Tank Bane as a Tank Mr. Frezze as a Tank Constantine as a Support Poison Ivy as a Support Star Sapphire as a Support Krypto as a Support Etrigan as a Tank Deadman as a Support Steel as a Tank Weather Wizard as a Support Dreamer as a Support The Enchatress as a Support Martian Girl as a Support RobotMan as a Tank Negative Man as a Support And basically anybody as a DPS And I just can't see Joker and Flash as support, Joker being a healer is just incoherent (Kinda like what supposedly gonna happen with Invincible Woman being a support in Rivals), and the ideal Flash gameplay would be something similar to Iron Fist

I think that they shouldnt inlcude tanks as a class and instead should have 3 classes: *melee, ranged and support.* Let me explain. A "problem" Rivals currently has is the overwhelming DPS characters, however it's inevitable for this to happen as supports and Tanks are harder to fit pre exisiting characters into. That's why i think it'd be better to split the roster this way making basically half of it DPS, that isnt to say there wont be tanks, it's just that they will be fewer and far between and not a seperate class.

things tend to go in circles. DC was always ahead of marvel. Fell behind a little at one point. Then was ahead all through the 90s and the 2k's. It wasnt until the 2010's that marvel pulled ahead again. So you never know, give it another 10 years then DC might be doing better than marvel again. (even tho personally ive always thought marvel was/is overall better than DC. Love superman tho)

UPDATED. me out, I'm not sure if you mentioned these but -Clay face: Super heavy tank at the cost of being slow. -Robin: Very quick and agile, wall jumps maybe double jumps at the cost of low hp, and he has a team up buff with batman and night wing. -Red hood: I don't know what class he would be but maybe work like support or like working like batman or winter soldier. -The yellow lantern guy with the name that sounds like "Sinister" -This is more of a skin but batman beyond: Has his own Mvp animations, voice lines and more. -Mr.freeze, honestly I don't have a thought for him but he just sounds good. -Dead shot: Hes like black widow but if black widow was on hawkeyes level in marvel rivals. King shark- Hes like a fusion of venom and Jeff the shark hes basically a pretty balanced tank unit Black knight: i also have no idea i just think he would be good Ra's al ghul: him and black knight would probably be a duelist and maybe even a team up thing with batman and Black Knight. Alright some more skins with its own stuff you get it, is the hellbat armor, the armor batman wore in batman vs superman.

If you’ve ever played league I could see Flash playing very similarly to the champion Rakan. He dashes around knocking up enemies and shielding allies. It actually would be so fitting. Maybe there could be a speed force mechanic that acts sort of like mana that needs to regenerate along with ability cooldowns.

Thanks for including sideways, he is so cool to me and I’d love to have a version of him in marvel rivals. Imagine he could have portal abilites to reflect projects right back at enemies. Create portals for teammates too. He can have 3 teleports that recharge and where ever he points hos camera he can automatically portal to. As a support, as you suggested, he could even teleport allies right back to you.

I imagine Lex Luthor being a mix of Iron Man and Hulk from Marvel rivals. Lex in his base form is just normal Lexus or in a business suit with a kryptonite gun, kind of like Bruce Banner. However, his ultimate allows him to summon his war suit which you will maintain until you lose all your health, when that happens Lex quickly ejects from the suit before it explodes leaving you in your base form until you charge up another ultimate. Just like the Hulk you’ll get a free ultimate at the beginning of the match however, smart players will save that as a quick save if they are about to die in their base form. Anyway, besides gimmick, I imagine his war suit would play very similar to Iron Man, but would be an absolute tank. You should really feel like you have the power to go up against Superman with that suit. Also as a bonus, I think it would be cool if your attacks give a poison effect to characters like Superman, since they are powered by kryptonite. The poison should wear off relatively quickly, but it’s something that could easily devastate a health bar if you attack them repeatedly. This would give a sense of risk versus reward since you’ll be doing a lot of damage, but you have to leave yourself. Vulnerable to counter attacks.

i could personally see beast boy working well as a tank acting similarly to that of Hulk. The idea that he can turn into any animal on earth (including already extinct) can make for an incredibly flexible tank kit. My idea would be that in his base form, beast boy doesn’t have anymore than like 175 health. but he can have an ability to turn into say a gorilla or a bear for example and tank for as long as his hp remains above the aforementioned 175 at which point he’ll turn back. he could also have a self heal ability by turning into a smaller creature like a frog or a mouse. His ult could be 10 seconds in which he can switch between 3 creatures: a T-rex, Mammoth and a lion/jaguar. I feel as though of everyone in the roster Beast Boy has the most potential and honestly could be the starting grounds for many great heroes/characters for other shooter games in the future.

The thing about putting Superman in a fighting game is that you'll have to strike the perfect balance between making him powerful and intimidating while also making it fair to avoid any team with superman automatically win by default. With how Marvel rivals managed to stay true to its character and translate them into the hero shooter genre, you can't really stay true to superman without making him essentially a playable raid boss.
