I was just thinking about this this morning! I'm a beginner self-taught dancer (took an online ballet course, do conditioning workouts and stretch daily, and do barre, choreo, and simple gymnastics on weekends) who is also on a weight-loss journey (57 pounds down, 46 to go!), so it's always nice to see dietary information that's not horrifically restrictive and unsustainable.

As a dancer with not much time during the day, I use to only eat two meals a day, no snack foods, and my body and mind suffered for it with the long classes. During lockdown, I started eating healthier, and noticed huge improvement in my ability to focus, and I felt less tired. Just a reminder to everyone that if you get really sore after a long week of dance (like me), then eating plenty and drinking lots of water will help you recover quicker.. My studio did a health course based around foods and what is and isn't good for our bodies. Definitely try adding beans or lentils to your dinners. It's a great source of protein for your muscles when matched with other vegetables and so on. I also like to eat muesli or something with seeds and nuts to start my day off right, with a good source of healthy fats. Lunch is my "break" meal where I'll eat whatever I feel like, so it could be wholemeal bread with lettuce, tomato, and cheese (calcium, vitamins, fibre, good fats)

Thank youz guys. from Sylvie here..still nowhere near a dancer..rather a post-stroke patient in recovery who gets so much from you’re tuition Miss Autie, inspiring me to move more, to try out new things and to go out of my way in rehab and training because if a valid young woman like yourself can actually do so much with her body just with the will and incentive and her mind over body control type thing then clearly my brain can help move and “muscle control” way more day after day..bits by bits. I just love your approach : body as a whole, health and safety / nutrition / warm up / stretching..etc… even though we come from very different places and our goals are very appart from each other the work you piece together and share with the world here on KZbin is just so close to my heart ❤️ ♥️ 💜 it just rings many many bells with me a lot of the time. Sorry I could have written many lil’ comments and the videos I loved instead of one 3kms long..sorry for not helping your KZbin channel that way : it’s just I usually don’t have the time, so I thought I’d squeeze in everything together on this one video 😛😝. Sorry about that..oh! ‘n thanx for reading me 🤗🤗🤗

That is sooooo important!!!! Diet culture in dance is criminal!!! Eating should be about being healthy, not pursuing a certain body type.

A lot of people I know are becoming gluten-intolerent like if they eat any of it their bodies reacts severely (eg. It reacts like they are having an asthma attack or something). So don't stress about it if this is you Miss Auti ❤🤗

HI miss Auti! I started to pursue my dreams of potentially becoming a professional ballet dancer today and even though this isn't fully related to this video, I was wondering if Pointe shoe fitting shops allowed dancers like me who learn from home and don't go to a ballet studio to get pointe shoes.

@Emilia WEAVER Thank you! How many years have you been dancing ballet for?
@HumbadaMina3 жыл бұрын
@Emilia WEAVER Thanks so much for your info, I've been a lot into dance and I really like the idea of having shoes that elevate you and make your dancing much more graceful. I hope I'll be able to get some pointe shoes once I'm experienced in ballet enough
