Very interesting topic! I know that you have a lot of comments you go through daily, but I was wanting to ask you if you knit on or off-season? Like do you knit summer projects in winter, or do you save the thicker, warmer projects for the colder months? I want to plan my projects more efficiently, and I feel like understanding the On and Off seasons for knitting would be more beneficial. Thanks for your amazing content, love your work! Katie from Kentucky, USA 🫶🏻❤️

OMG that fluffy bunny looks like my 4 bunnies! 🐰 but mine have lop-ears 😊 I always threw away their fur after trimming them, didn’t know that they could be spun for knitting

small amounts of luxurious angora yarn are also great to trim the cuffs of mittens or hats

Angora will mat over time, felt. The item will shrink. Use a larger needle and pick a simple pattern. You could also hold it with another yarn, or just use it as trim, cuffs on mittens or edging on a scarf. Knit the main garment in wool. Edge with angora. The rabbit fur is extremely warm, too warm for Sophie scarf.

I made handspun of corriedale wool and angora. It was beautiful bright white. The simple blouse I knitted from it got a snitch smaller every time I carefully washed it. A decorative trim on a sweater might be most sensible use of the bunny yarn.

So... While I can assure you Taylor has WAY MORE EXPERIENCE than i do as a knitter and I look up to her VERY MUCH (so inspired by her and love that she practices creative cross-training ❤️🎨🎸). I will say that I wasn't sure about the glove with cables pattern recommendation for the hand spun angora. And i appreciate that she qualified this at the end. My hesitation would be the massive halo that comes with angora fiber. Just my thoughts...🤔. Not sure if the cables will be fully appreciated.

Curious as to why you didn’t reduce it further by selecting angora? I’d consider holding it doubled with another lovely yarn that has some memory. Super impressed that you pronounced Saskatchewan correctly 👏

I had a tiny bit of angora yarn. I made a double brim hat with a nice wool. I used the angora for a simple colorwork section on the outside of the double brim. It looked so good and there were no little hairs bugging the skin.

I used to raise angoras and my favorite thing to make with angora yarn is Susie Roger's reading mitts. I made a pair probably over 10 years ago and they are still the first thing I reach for when the weather in Maine starts to get cold.

I made a headband with 100% angora handspun and it stretched waaay too much after hand washing so I like the idea of doing a tied headband or the neckcheif because stretching won't be a bad thing.

Love love LOVE all your suggestions and I’m especially thrilled you included the bunny. I think Claire Garlands patterns are incredible and unsung. I’ve made her blue tit and her hedgehog, both incredibly adorable. And I have just put down my current project, her Guinea pig, to make this comment. OMG. People love these little treasures as gifts.

I have raised angora bunnies and spun the plucked fiber i to yarn as 100% content or blended it with wool. Unfortunately, the 100% has no ‘memory’, so that limits its use to patterns that are not dependent on a fit. The tied headband, kerchief and bunny patterns should work well.

I make handspun 100% angora yarn. Any pattern is going to be obliterated. Angora will get fuzzier and fuzzier as you wear it. When the yarn is the star, the pattern needs to be simple. Knit or purl only

@eleanor.shadow you'll LOVE it! It is "slippery". But what's wonderful about that is you can get a little bit of twist in the fiber and continue to attenuate until it's the grist you want. Then treadle to "lock " it in! If you need more angora to spin, I have a basement full! All the colors. Just let me know!

@@diannboehm9877 so, woollen spun? That's exciting! And thanks very much for the offer, but I feel we're on different parts of the world and shipping would be prohibitive - you say "color," I say "colour" :D (this was my weird way of saying I'm in the UK, haha!)

I’ve made several emotional support chickens for friends. I’ve done from bulky to fingering weight yarn. The fingering one is so small I love it. I think a small bunny out of bunny yarn would be perfect. I’ve also been wanting a kerchief….. things to think about.

I wish there was a little bit more research done on angora fiber for this video. It’s very well known for angora to stretch and lose any sort of pattern in the halo of the yarn. It also felts very easily and so I feel like mittens and any other item that may get a lot of wear and tear is not the best fit for angora.

Please don’t encourage the use of angora yarn from rabbits. Most if it comes from China and we know the level of cruelty that is inflicted on these sweet creatures. Having said that, I really enjoy your channel.
