My XI: Rohit Gill Kohli S.Iyer KL Rahul Axar Patel H Pandya Jadeja Kuldeep Bumrah Shami We have 2 options to contain runs in middle overs namely axar and jaddu. Have kept both of them in squad since axar can play as a lower order batter type role mainly while jaddu can stick to spin bowling as his priority. I do not feel you can drop either one of them right now. Rest of squad is pretty self explanatory. Subs: W.Sundar, Pant, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Siraj, Jaiswal (Incase of injuries) Pant is here over samson due to a potential to play as a left hander in the xi. I know that there is a lack of a right hand spinner like sundar but I feel it should not matter much considering the quality of spinners+ability of shami to provide breakthroughs in middle overs.

you might need to consider having Umran Malik, Arshdeep Singh, and Mohammad Siraj as your backup fast bowlers for the ODI Squad. The selectors should go with spinners like washington sundar, riyan parag, Varun Chakravarthy, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravi Bishnoi.

I would keep umran malik out just for now... Putting him at a big stage when we need some experience like bumrah, shami, siraj is a bit risky. He should be given chances in bilateral

The way I see it, Yashasvi will probably play the next ODI WC so why not give him some experience here? Maybe opener, maybe 1 down, maybe even 2 or 3 down but I think he should play. I don't think Dube or NKR can be considered as backups for HP as of now because they have not bowled a lot. Jadeja is an all time great but I think it's time to move on from him in ODIs and we should continue grooming Axar.
