Hello Mandy! just wanted to share my experience with how my visa interview got approved on February 14, 2023. Here is the transcript of the questions the consular officer asked me at the Us consulate in Tijuana, Mexico: 1. What do you do for a living? -- Good morning, well I'm an electrical engineer. 2. How long you've been an electrical engineer? -- 5 years. 3. Tell me what are some of your activities? -- I'm a fire investigator, mainly do failure analysis on electrical components, and the electrical installation of the structure. Do origin and cause determination of where the fire started. 4. So you work for an insurance company? -- Yes mam. 5. What is the purpose of your travel? -- Tourism and vacations. 6. When are you planning to visit the U.S.? First week of march, 2023. 7. Are you married? -- No, I'm single. 8. Do you own your own house? No, I'm currently renting, I'm in the process of purchasing a property. 9. What city are you planning on visiting in the U. S.? -- Houston, Texas. 10. But what are your plans on doing there, what activities are you going to do? -- I've always wanted to visit NASA space center, always had a thing for space exploration, and rockets. 11. With whom are you going to stay there? A Friend. Congratulations! your Visa has been approved. As a reverend minister, I dressed in my clerical shirt and a nice suits to confirm my vocation and my real identity on file. The visa officer honourably gave me the needed reverence by asking me only one question for my visa approval. May God bless her and her family forever.

Madam you are great....i listened to your advise and your calmness gave me confidence to face the visa..i officer .i dressed well and looked at her in the face as i approached the counter smilling...and she pushed the blue paper to me before asking me any questions..then she asked 3 questions and gave me the visa...thanks so much.....

I guess everything depends on the personality of the interviewing officer. It is more of a gamble / what you do or say or the way you are dressed might not make a big difference. Different people/ different attitudes. That is something you can not predict or have control over.

I filled out two DS-160 forms for my B1/B2 visa. In the first form, I mentioned that I plan to visit my friend living in the USA (New York). However, I realized I had made some mistakes on the form after paying the visa fee. I contacted the support center, and they advised me to complete a new form and update the application number, which I did. The issue now is that in the new form, I didn’t include my friend’s information and listed a different port of entry (Washington) and added I will be visiting just to spend 2 days. Informations are different in two different forms. Do you think this might cause any problems? If yes how could I overcome it.

Your visa officer will only see the form attributed to the application ID number you provided. However make sure everything in that form is correct!
