How did you initially connect with your consignment clients?

Hi! A girl that I went to high school with but didn’t really know was a micro influencer on Instagram and was married to a retired Atlanta Braves player. One day she posted that she was doing a closet clean out and I knew that she had a dream closet with high end items so I slid into her DMs and let her know that I was a reseller and offered to take her on as a consignment client. At first she declined because of my 30% fee, but then after she did her research on how much (little) the Real Real, ThredUp, Plato’s, etc would pay her, she circled back and took me up on it. Then once I proved that I could sell the items and make her money, she asked if she could share my contact info with her friends, which is how I got linked up with the girl from this haul. I’ve made so much money with consignment over the years! My recommendation is to just shoot your shot. Find one person who you know has a nice closet and tell them what you do. Then tell them to tell their friends and before you know it you’ll be turning clients down because you have so much inventory coming in!

Nice video. Maybe you should give yourself a higher percentage for consignment because you are doing all the work. Maybe 40 to 50%.

I charge more for a few consignment clients, but the ones that I charge 30% for typically give me a ton of higher end brands that bring a lot more so I feel like 30% is fair for those particular clients! Occasionally there’s some lower end sales in there like the Steven boots or Free People or Zara, but for the most part it’s higher end designer or revolve brands. For example, this morning I sold a consignment piece that was a House of Harlow set that sold for $108 so after fees I’ll make almost $30. I think that’s fair! If I were full time I’d probably consider increasing it. Thanks for watching!!!!
