Very informative as i look back to 1969 when no one had GPS and Michigan just made the transition from 24"@3" to 27"@ 3" widest form widths. Also still in use were 12" wide paddles. My respect for Ralph Sawyer/Stan Hall is very high, but concidering the differences in equipment of today, i say the toughest bow man period was Jerry Kellog.

Kevin do you ever use a paddle outfitted with any sort of 'power' meter? If so I would like to see some info on it

I have not yet had the chance to do that. My sponsor GRB is working with a local college on a project with a power meter and hopefully I can get involved at some point, and if I do I will be sure to let you know how it goes.

I have just spent the last 45 min looking for a video that shows a quick short efficient stroke for tanked canoes who are on week long camping canoe trips. And could not find a single video. I did a search for racing canoes. But they are over the top for what I am looking for. Any ideas? Thanks
