Thamks Dr Debroy for summarizing the frustration of two generations of bengalis. My great uncle died with the same frustration, my dad died with the same and I have found my employment outside the state for the same botched up impractical politics. i mean imagine sitting on dharna blocking roads to stop the introduction of computers; just one sample.

Problem is, Raj Chengappa doesn't understand economics & asking questions to an expert & outstanding calibre like Bibek Debroy. Swinging one question to other, mixing up, mess up with framing questions. Possibly Raj unable to get interview from Modi & trying to implicate GOI by hook or crook.

Indian economy can be bolstered in simple ways but need to work aggressively on this 1. We need Indian owned Retail chains in Europe that employees locals but sources products from India . E.g Primark sources from Bangladesh, Indonesia but hardly from India Focus here should be on Textiles, Stationery items, electronics goods, Home decor #GoodQuality #Affordable 1.a. Need quality standards like TÜV for export products 2. Currently sourcing products from India, shipping is a very slow process 3. World has moved to On-Demand purchase, which needs quick international shipping and infrastructure for reseller platforms like Alibaba 4. Attract investment from NRIs and OCI 5. This is long-term but needs to improve management education in India, most Management colleges are mediocre. Need better education by blending Innovation and Entrepreneurship

law and order and labour militancy has to be curbed or completely stopped. Any industry requires a stable environment. Thats why states like Maha, Guj, TN are becoming manufacturing hubs. Trade unions can be there, but they have to work for the betterment of the workforce, not as a stopper for growth.

Chinese President repeatedly expressed interest in investing for manufacturing industries in West Bengal but Modi wanted same to Gujarat. Answer lies there ...Modi is promoting his narrow minded mind set. Manufacturing industries are impossible without help of China or USA. Modi failed in both front in mobilization of capital for manufacturing industry. Though he is trying his best to help his Gujju lobby which has given money to control RSS and then BJP party. Now both private and public sectors are left with no money for reinvestment to upgrade their technology. So whatever happened in West Bengal in early 70, same industrial problems will surface with lower wages and high inflation. TN cotton industry is already dead and lost out to Bangladesh and Vietnam.

Well if you insult industrialists like TATA and BIRLA who are the backbone of India's industry and make them leave the states who do you think will come to you. The leftist mindset that I am poor because you are rich has destroyed the existing industry in our states and TMC after replacing CPI has done exactly that. That is why people like me have to leave the state to get a job. People wonder why there is so much violence during elections in WB, well if you can't give young people jobs and give them bhata of meagre means of course people will fight to get the position of power. If you are in power you can then bully whatever developmental works is done by the central govt, be it through labour union or tolabazi. The constant infighting in TMC is a great example of this culture. Frankly, I see a very bleak future of this state, when all over the India states like Tamilnadu, Gujrat, Maharashtra, UP, Rajasthan, Karnataka is on their way to new age industrial revolution WB is slipping back to dark times. It literally breaks my heart to see so many of my school and college friends are still struggling to get a job or start a business.

Every one shouted -24%GDP decline of India. But do you know how it was calculated? It was calculated, by comparing 12 weeks (4 week each of Jan, Feb, March 2019) with 4-5 weeks of Jan, Feb, March 2020. Rest of the weeks were already affected by Covid Lockdown in various parts of the World and India. You will see the wonderful hike now, when they will compare 4-5 Weeks of Jan-March 2020 with 12 weeks of Jan-March 2021... Enjoy the life.....

@@saugataindia another cocaine snorting whatsApp educated bhakt spotted. We all know how GDP is calculated u need to get out of ur whatsApp knowledge first. India's gdp was already on a negative spiral since demonetization. Even after manipulation of data govt cldnt hide it. The culmination was a -24% gdp. Most large economies of d world faced lockdown bcs of covid. Not a single one showed such a massive decline - that's bcs they have educated leaders unlike ours who were busy doing jumla on TV.

''Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council Chairman Bibek Debroy'' - check india's GDP graph and this man still in the job??????????
@activeoneaudio7792
@activeoneaudio7792 3 жыл бұрын
The fact is, Bibek Debroy can't give a straight answer to the questions of declining economy because he is the chairman of PMEAC, and the accountability is on him. So the declining economy of the country is his failure. The questions weren't very smart either, the interviewer took Mr Debroy's comments personally. However the Indian economy IS Mr. Debroy's wife and she is not doing well. Probably the economy needs a new husband.

A man under whose watch the economy has crumbled is going on stage and giving big lectures. Always found his words nonsensical . I don't disagree to the idea that industrial development in west Bengal needs to be improved , specially keeping in mind the human capital and capability of West Bengal but all his suggestions are garbage and its better for the present west Bengal Govt. or the future W.B. govt., whichever party it may be they should not listen this hack of a guy.

@@saumadeepmukherjee703 It is very easy to slander but difficult to acknowledge facts if your mind is biased. Why don't you hear what the CM and the FM told in the same India Today conclave where they laid out actual comparison of economic and social measures between west Bengal government and India at large. It was on national podium and they invited challenge to their stated figures. Certainly there are many issues to be rectified but at least appreciate the developments this hard working CM did since the days of Bidhan Chandra Roy. Kolkata is still the safest city in India and women are far more respected (look at the number of members in her government) here than the atrocities going in UP, Bihar, Rajasthan and many other states. Chief minister's welfare programs have been as acknowledged internationally. I am not a member of any party but can see objectively without a bias.
