A stormtrooper on the death star, a bartender working on some planet, a policeofficer in the lower levels of Corusant. We could see their job, their homes, their relationship with family and friends. I think a lot of interesting stories can be told from different perspectives.

Imagine a short film through the eyes of a Stormtrooper.. Standing at a bar in front of a bartender droid. It's dark except for the blue and red lights in the club, and the occasional green laser coming and going . You can see the brand names of the drinks and little trinkets/easter eggs behind the bar. Someone buys the stormtrooper a drink, being that they are seen as military by civilians, and enjoy the same types of privileges. A hot green Twi-Lek introduces herself and asks the trooper if he wants to "get outta here" with her. Later, in the night, she steals his data pin and he finds out she is a rebel spy....Just imagine the kind of stories that could be told from the other side.

In the Death Star they were ordered to do that so the main character hurry up and escape so they can track the Rebel base on Yavin IV and in Endor they cant hit the Ewok because they were too small and can camouflage within the enviroment. The reason why they miss on hitting the main character is only for the history, im sure that most of you dont like see that the protagonist was killed by a random soldier in a random scene. Once it was finally finished, the Death Star was the Emperor's favorite toy. It was also the most boring assignment in the galaxy for a stormtrooper. Tedious inspection drills, endless hours of guarding impregnable force field generators. Things got so bad that when a prison break erupted in the cellblock, we were almost happy to have someone shooting at us again. If only we had known what an embarrassing snipestorm we were about to wade into, we probably would have jettisoned the whole detention block into space. After the embarrassment of the prison break, Lord Vader removed us from our comfortable billet, and began dragging the 501st across the galaxy, in a dangerous hunt for the now missing Death Star plans. Ironically, our punishment eventually proved to be our salvation. The poor souls who took our place in the detention area were completely wiped out when the Death Star was destroyed. -Retired member of the 501st.

star spangled warrior Screw the Alliance, they were terrorists. They never talked of establishing a new form of government. All they did was ambush the Empire and all they did was plan battles. Later on, after the Galactic Civil War, according to the Expanded Universe, Canon and Legends, there was chaos, anarchy, civil unrest, rioting, looting, illegal arms dealing and warlords who didn't care who they killed because there was no new government. There was absolutely nothing good that came out of the victory of the rebellion. The galaxy was pretty much another Somalia.

I think what he said at the end about Stormtroopers being better after being fleshed out really shows how much pop culture has evolved since the OT came out. Back then faceless, lifeless, cardboard cutout villains were not just the norm, they were what people liked. Nowadays the villains, even the low ranking ones, have to have some story or people don’t like it much. I don’t think either way is better or worse than the other (cap that potential can of worms right now, this is the KZbin comment section) I just think it’s interesting to see how audiences have changed in just one generation.
