I'm from Southern France, but I'm pretty sure that in the whole of France the key word is "effortless", especially if you're going for a vintage look (which a lot people go for). You need to make sure you look good but you mustn't show you went all out to put it together, so bragging about how expensive your clothes are is a big don't. But now, a lot of people do brag about (or allude to) how inexpensive or self-made or second-hand their clothes are. It's a big thing.

I think the fact that these people study in an Art School actually plays a big part of it. Whenever I go to my university's Art Faculty (in Spain) I find many different people who take fashion as a way to express themselves. Of course people from other disciplines can express themselves in the same way, but there's something about Art School students that make them maybe not care that much about what people think about their looks.

i love how they all dress!! i wish i could just go out and wear something crazy like some of those people but im scared that i will get judged.. even though in my country thats not really a big problem
@Lauren-zx4wb6 жыл бұрын
You are always gonna be judged no matter what thats how life works. BUT it does't matter because your not harming other people and it's as simple as that. I struggled with this two years ago and now I look like a walking rainbow with pink platforms and I love it! You need to accept the fact that not everyone is gonna like what you wear and that fine because only YOU have to like it. You will get compliment from people who love it that you wear what you want and you get criticism. You can do it!!

I know how you feel it was the same with me I usually try to ease myself into it so that I didn’t start with a complete „different outfit“ but say start with wearing platform shoes more often or like big noticeable earrings and start adding kind of hahah so you as well as you close environment kind of gets used to it and for me i feel better that way because I’ll get less anxious and less „judging“

I agree with the dude at 7:43 , i live in the 15th district and its really rare to see others dress in à différent way.. i get stared at a lot

I chose art as a specialization in my French high school. I liked how people were not judgemental about your looks and that we could kinda be "crazy around", not formal. But the art work was very intense, I realized I couldn't go to an art school after getting my high school diploma. I still draw, thrifts and dress up though.

It's fun but it's very "art spirit" It's like 5% of parisians students. I live in Paris and i see a lots of people who wear jeans and sneakers from h&m or zara... Only artists or rich people wear different clothes. It's sad i know...
