What Stuff at IKEA Really Sounds Like. How to say the names of the ikea furniture lines. The other day I had a little shopping trip up to IKEA in Portland and decided to see how I would pronounce the names in American English.

I really don't get how people can find Ikea furniture difficult to assemble. Just follow the instructions and take your time. Pay attention to the details like where the different holes are positioned and you'll be fine.

I am always happy to see that you are doing well during your pregnancy! Being a father and grandfather I know that a lot of joy is coming your way! I also appreciate your eye for quality. Whatever you do you try and add a dose of “quality“ into your work. If you haven’t read the book already, The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, you may enjoy it. It deals with the concept of “quality” ( and many other ideas) in interesting ways. Keep up the great work, you are an inspiration!

Nice video. We visit IKEA from time to time (too far away to go there often). and we love it. Sometimes we buy something but it gives a lot of inspiration. About 15 years ago I bought my first digitital fotocamera and at the first time after that I took it with me to IKEA, starting making pictures of things I liked. My wife was wondering why. Nowadays when you go to IKEA you hardly see people NOT making pictures. We've quite a few things from IKEA at home. Never had any issues with quality nor with putting it together.

It's almost time for our annual visit to Ikea (the Glasgow one is handy to stop off at when visiting relatives in town). Glaswegian pronunciation of Ikea's Swedish names is *very* different. For a start, the Glasgow accent is mostly a growl... with very flat vowels...

I live in South Africa and my mother tongue is Afrikaans, derived from Dutch Settlers and also sounds a lot like Flemish. I was surprised how many words are also similar to Swedish. Ordentlig = ordentlik in Afr and means the same. I also believe your handoek = towel =handoek in Afrikaans as well. Same word, same meaning. Lots of gutteral g sounds as well, like the Scottish loch " with that hard g sound at the end :-)

That was fun -- I totally enjoyed this. In Minnesota, the only Swedish words we know are "Swedish Meatballs" Is there really such a thing as Swedish Meatballs of is that marketing attempting to find another use for cream of Mushroom soup? PS -- I love your channels -- hope you are doing well with the miracle that is happening.

@todddembsky8321

This strange land called Minnesota is half Norwegian and Scandinavian. The other half is German, Polish, and a sprinkling of the rest. You know you are in trouble when you have Lutefisk at Christmas time. Green Jello with Carrot shavings, Hot Dish (or Tater Tot Casserole) The country's second largest State Fair (behind Texas) where everything is served on a stick. We even have a mall (right next to the Big Blue Box) with an amusement park inside the mall. Good Old Mall Of America. Lena, Sven, and Ole are always in trouble, and we cut holes in the ice on a lake in the middle of winter and sit for hours on an upside down Home Depot 5 gallon bucket with a fishing pole hoping to catch that one fish while waiting for the Beer Pickup Truck to drive by and sell you a hot sandwich and a beer. A great place to call "home"...
