Bro if you call yourself a "comic fan" the idea of James Gunn being I'm charge should be a massive red flag. Every character hes adapted except groot is absolutely NOTHING like they are in the comics. Drax went from being space Kratos to having space autism, his Mamtis portrayal was hated by. The characters creator and Peter Quill isn't the stoic leader he used to be and don't even get me started on how he ruined Peacemaker as a whole.

James really has a knack for translating DC characters, as they are without many significant changes, which I love. When there is a large change to a character, I genuinely think it works very well, such as with the Vigilante in Peacemaker.

Agreed, James really pays attention to what makes the heroes special. He did great in Marvel and so far in DC. I have full faith that he'll do good with the new DCU.

It makes sense. I think he mentioned it a couple of times that he has been reading comics since he was really young. So it makes sense that he understands how to translate them into movies and tv shows.

Any comics where they do have similar characteristics to the show was written after the show came out. Gunn takes characters nobody knows and replaces all their established character traits with cheap juvenile comedy.

Hopefully, Gunn's take on Superman will be more faithful to the character. Synder's Man of Steel did have potential, but the real problem with it was that Synder relied too much on dark tones and bland takes on well-known characters.

I kind of get the feeling that this could wind up being a nice sort of sweetspot between the Richard Donner and Zack Snyder versions of Superman. The film seems very colorful and uplifting, like the Richard Donner Superman, but it also looks like it will address the idea that the modern world is maybe a little too cynical to understand that Superman is just trying to help simply because it's the right thing to do like in Zack Snyder's version.

He was still under WB to promote the film and say what was necessary to make it sound better. Just because you’re the head of a department in WB doesn’t mean you don’t have responsibility to do what they say. The film industry is a very big multi department industry.

Based on the trailer and the tid-bits from Gunn, I reckon the whole films story will be about what it takes to be a true hero, in the sense that it isn’t the costumes or the powers but being that beacon of hope and joy for people to feel safe. It seems Clark is entering this bigger world of superheroing and everyone is gonna look at him with suspicion and cynicism because of his genuinely honest and kind intentions. He just wants to save people because it’s the right thing to do and because he can. The whole “look up” thing in the advertising has been really cool and quintessentially Superman.

A kid in a war zone raising a superman flag tells me that I'm gonna get the exact kind of superman I want. I'm honestly not a fan of Snyder's approach to superman, making the whole world feel alot more dark and depressing, and superman being more broody, it's just not for me. I like superman as a fucking goofy dork. Hell yeah Krypto the Super Dog. Hell yeah Superman being a beacon of hope, especially for children. Hell yeah Superman wearing red undies over his pants. Hell yeah hopefully seeing alot of Clark Kent. There's a BTS video of Superman and Mr Terrific landing infront of a crowd, and all of the kids run to superman. Perfection. And I'm not saying you can't do a lot of the things the Snyder films did, this film looks like it's also got people protesting against superman, and that does negatively effect superman. But *for me* (I'm stressing that this is just my personal opinion and not an attack on Snyder fans, it's fine it worked for other people), but *for me* MoS and BvS never really justified the anti-superman hate to be wrong? Meanwhile I can imagine this Superman saving a cat out of a tree, that's what I like out of him, and if he doesn't do it in the new film I'm gonna riot.

I disagree, it is the Snyder Fans that keep bullying and harassing everyone. There’s not a single video or post about this movie where a Snyder Fan hasn’t taken the time to mock and trash it. There isn’t a post I haven’t seen where they call Cavill’s suit a masterpiece and call Corenswet’s suit the worst suit in any superhero move (I’m not kidding they literally said Corenswet’s suit was the worst superhero suit in any superhero movie ever). Snyder Fans aren’t just fans they practically worship the man. It’s actually unsettling really. Just let it go, it’s over. Pup if you want to see great Superman adaptations before watching Superman 2025 I recommend watching Superman and Lois from the CW it just ended and its an amazing Show from start to finish and My Adventures with Superman from Adult Swim its got 2 seasons and they are incredible!

As someone who’s both a Superman fan, as well as someone who’s grown to love Snyder’s DC films; actually respecting and appreciating them and what Snyder was going for. I’m very excited for this film and I hope this pleases as many people as possible. A part of me is still somewhat nervous about the possibility of it being another divisive Superman film; one that makes me feel like I have to defend myself for enjoying. But, after seeing the trailer, I have faith that James Gunn can pull it off. I’m willing to get over my frustrations with how WB meddled with the Snyderverse and give this movie a chance.

SEGA is going to move a lot of stuff over to America and 2025 is going to be the start of them moving to the West. Japan is not in great conditions geographically and economically and America and UK are struggling to keep their economy going in order for people to move stuff from Japan to the West. DC Comics is working with SEGA, but it is not the only comic company in the West side of the US collaborating with SEGA. Image and Dark Horse are going to work with SEGA, too, to grow the massive SEGA universe to both SEGA of America and Europe. The sooner we make it clear that SEGA is coming to the West, the sooner we can get even more businesses from Japan over to the West.

@ElvenRaptor I originally Hated MoS and BvS because of this point, but what I wasnt not considering at the time is snyders characters actually have arcs where they became the embodiment of those characters. Superman had to live in an untrusting and uncertain world in order to LEARN to be Hopeful and Inspirational instead of just starting out that way. You know...like real humans do. Batman killed but LEARNED the error of his ways, Superman showed him that Men are Still Good, you know the way Superman does in the comics, so he was Redeemed. Explain to me what Peacemaker learns or how he grows in anyway? He doesn't. And you can't tell me does because i watched that God awful joke fest show. Seems like people like you give Gunn a pass because his projects make you Laugh, not because they make you Think!

I don't want a Superman that only becomes Superman in the last fifteen minutes of his tenor. Batman is old enough that there's no excuse for his behavior, especially after he had already been Batman for a long time. *eye-roll* "Suicide Squad" as a property is not exactly known for putting its characters through traditional character arcs. The entire point is that they're bad people doing bad things, and maybe the occasional good thing. "Suicide Squad" stories are oranges to Superman's apples. Actually, Gunn's works are quite intelligent and you do have to think while watching them to truly understand them. Snyder's works are very shallow by comparison.

This trailer looked generic like an average marvel or any other comic book movie. Nothing inspiring or hopeful. This is all artificial hype. Everyone is foaming at the mouth for this trailer because it's the only thing you guys have had in like a decade so regardless if objectively it's mediocre, everyone with think it's the best thing ever because well there's been a drought. So it's not that people are hyped from what is shown, because it ain't much, it's that people are just hyped to get something Superman related.

I do not trust James Gunn. After all, he made marvel movies, and I’m expecting him to bring that marvel humor that I despise, that, and specked out to mock minutes. I hate Zack Snyders depiction of Superman, he turn Batman into the DC version of Punisher and I am sick and tired of seeing the suicide squad, yet I still don’t trust him. I never was a fan of the guardians, I hate the MCU to the point where I no longer a fan of Marvel, they turn my favorite hero Spider-Man into Ironman’s brown Noser, and I will only take back my words when I see it.

@ there are some parts I don’t like, meanly bumblebee and Elita one, but everything else was amazing. Also I always like SpiderMan being hated by everyone else and he had to earn the love. It feels off and wrong seeing Ironman willing to help Spidey free of charge with no strings attach, I would prefer seeing SpiderMan go through his own Hero arc first before meeting the avenger in force to earn their trust, but yet still failed to convince all members that he’s trustworthy. I like my Spider-Man, like how I like my Batman and Wolverine, outsiders and unwelcome to the superhero communities.
