Got out my Peak to try to replicate the LFO sync issue, and I think the solution is setting the LFO phase to free while keeping common on. Got all my voices using a common LFO that doesn't reset when a new key is pressed. Definitely a testament to how versatile the Peak is. Thanks for your amazing content, it's always a huge inspiration!

I use this technique a lot. For me, I initially used it to quote the evolving timbres found in Steve Reich’s pulse works… for example Music for 18 Musicians. Amazing stuff!! I usually run the resultant audio file through an Ableton Group with several layers of Auto Filter, each set to band pass mode. I set each individual filter to a different frequency and add resonance to taste. I then set a different lfo time and amount for each layer of the group. I, generally, am looking for the most important bands. I usually end up using 3 to 6 layers. This adds a tremendous amount of movement to the space. And can remove a ton of extraneous frequency content. If you want to get really crazy, you can add radically different mid/side eq to each layer. Then automate the scale parameter to create further spread and variation on each layer… This takes some experimentation but can really make a single sound have a crazy amount of movement without it sounding too muddy or busy… Been watching and for a long time. Appreciate all your vids. hHappy New Year, duder!!!

To A/B the LFO modulation, set the mod source to whichever LFO plus one of the animate buttons and just latch the animate button during normal use. That way you can unlatch the animate to show the sound without the modulation instead of bringing the depth down and back up and potentially losing the sweet spot.

I just figured out how to assign a channel on my 707 to my iPhone, now i have all the ios synth apps available, controlled via midi by the 707, and the audio is sent to a channel/fader on the 707. The possibilities are endless, lol, the cliche is rea! Exploring synthesis is fun!

Around 15:20 you made a strong point. The OB6 is one of those synths where you play it and it sounds huge and awesome alone, but can be tough to fit in a mix. This is why I love the Take5. It sits so well in a mix but in YT demo may cause some people to say it sounds "thin".. Anyway, I will try this patch on my take5 and see what I can concoct.

Beautiful patch! I think the reason it's not sounding right in the song is that the way the finished pulsation of the peaks output isn't rythmically lining up with the bpm of the rest of the track. Add in some side chaining would also probably help a lot also!

not sure if the peak have this feature but in the deepmind you can have this "global" lfo thing and a separate option to key sync, so the lfo doesn't reset on each key press. thanks for the tip !

Can get more control by using some old fashioned overdubbing! Record those blocked chords, then overdub some higher/lower parts on another take+track. Then you can line up those blips nicely

leave the sync on and multitrack the part, adding whatever notes you don't want to reset and interrupt the LFO contour on separate passes, maybe? That will also give you an easy way to mix levels of the different notes in the chord after the fact. But I also kind of dig those plinky-plinkies being out of sync. And the track sounds cool. No need to apologize or be embarrassed about the track.

Ahh, good ol' LFO gate reset troubles. I know it probably feels like cheating, but...have you considered multi-tracking the part that Osc 3 is doing here? Seems like it might be a bit easier to tackle if you decouple it from the rest of the patch and make it into its own thing. Happy new year!
