I'm not Jewish nor observant, but over time I've picked up small bits of Shabbat observances and rules. (That may not be the correct wording.) Today I heard a bit more and it made me curious to hear someone speak more in depth with explanations in a more educational manner. This was perfect! Thank you so much for sharing! I hope to continue learning. Being from a protestant Christian background it's incredibly interesting, and I'm finding value that could be applicable to any walk of life.

Hey I’m a Ben Noach intending on doing conversion soon. I’m just wondering why the forbiddance of buying and selling/ profiting from laborers or work of animals wasn’t included since these things are distinct within the written Torah.

ANY DAY OF THE WEEK CAN BE THE SABBATH DAY - AND THERE IS NO OTHER REQUIREMENT OTHER THAN "REST" ORDAINED FOR THAT DAY "Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:" These commandments are to be upheld by the INDIVIDUAL not the nation as a whole. "Do not lie" is for the individual to uphold. "Honor thy father and thy mother" is for an individual to uphold not the nation to create an 'Honor Thy Father and Thy Mother Day 'celebrations. This commandment only says you can work for six days in a row but you must rest on the 7th following the sixth. NOTHING MORE. Doesn't say there is any specific day of the week you must choose to start your work week. If an individual chooses to start his work week on Monday then Sunday becomes THAT person's Sabbath day of rest (and nothing more than rest is required of him). Same if a person chooses his work week to start on Sunday then Saturday is his Sabbath day. Individuals can come together for their convenience to agree to start their work week on any specific day and have their Sabbaths coincide..... but that doesn't give any individual or group authority to decide that work week starting point for others.

@Infamous Grizzly How was Joshua upholding the sabbath when had the army march around Jericho for 7 days straight? Because he divided up his army into seven companies and staggered their starting day of work week so that 6 companies were always on duty while the seventh in line had their sabbath day of rest.

@Infamous Grizzly There is no 'days of the week' in the Bible. The Bible does not recognize this term 'weekday'. There are no names for these days. The Bible never says "in the second or third week of the month" Weeks of days of the week are in Julian Calendars not Jewish Lunar Callanders.

@Infamous Grizzly(you evade the Joshua question) "and WE have for sure determined the sabbath is a specific day," Who is this "we"? By what authority does this disembodied "we" have a right to speak for the Nation of Israel on anything let alone halacha. Because last I checked " thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother." -Deut 17:57 And Ezra says you have to have a birth register "showing your father's house whether you be of Israel" or you are put out of the priesthood/rabbinate. So names these "we" and present their birth certificates showing their tribal lineage to the sons of Jacob, or they have no authority to speak and rule over Hashem's nation of Israel. You are being duped by imposters and those who have been long fooled, by generations, by these imposters.
