When the song was released, some fans thought it was impossible to perform the song live. They didn't realize that BabyMetal is unlimited and no impossible until the Tokyo Dome concert was held.

GREAT REACTION! This song was influenced by the band, Dream Theater, since Kobametal, BABYMETAL's producer, is a big Dream Theater fan. Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater said he was "BLOWN away" when he heard this song. BABYMETAL actually performed this song live once...but what is even crazier is that the girls have choreography to this song! I'm glad you reacted to the studio recording, because with it you get to hear every beautiful detail.🦊🤘

His work on 'Metal Resistance': he wrote, composed and arranged "Karate" and "Gj!", and arranged "Yava" and "Sis.Anger". He is also co-producer on the album. Nobody is credited for the drums. The drums may have been programmed.

I love the whole song, but I adore that piano outro. If I were told that Jordan Rudess had played that, I would absolutely believe it. If you check out the live version, try to find a version that includes „The One“ following it. It’s absolutely spectacular.

Prog Metal from Babymetal Metal Resistance album influence by Dream Theatre. This song shows what Babymetal girls and The Kami Band can do. A very technical song combined with a complex choreographed dance routine which were played only once in Tokyo Dome concert. At that concert, Su-Metal earpiece malfunction and had to rely on Kami Band tempo changes of the song to stay in tune with The Kami Band and Yuimetal and Moametal. Su-Metal nails it perfectly. They’re all extremely talented, and they just seem to get better every time. I’ve checked out a lot of BABYMETAL now but this is definitely my favourite song so far. It’s crazy how far I’ve come with them now, after being put off originally when I heard Gimme Chocolate 6 years ago. Gotta love how things change sometimes haha

If you're able to purchase Babymetal live DVD it will be the best time to enjoy a band from Japan which plays metal genre and with a complete dance routine which only Babymetal does.

@@djentleeReacts Some have suggested, because the girls started so young they learned really fast. Their might be some truth to that. The trick of Babymetal is: always keep challenging themselves. A very Japanese concept. Like going on the 2016 world tour, feeling like (paraphrasing): "I'm not ready to perform at Tokyo Dome at all, that's huge ! I can't see how we could do such a thing." to at the end of the tour,Tokyo Dome, 2 days in a row, 2 completely different setlists, no song repeated, had to learn to fit the choreography to this special stage (paraphrasing): "wow ! what a show. But honestly almost feels smaller than expected. I can't wait to see what the future will bring.". It's because they had performed on US national TV in s small studio all the way up to metal/rock festivals main stage with 90 000, maybe more. They were 17 and 18 years old in 2016.

Metal Resistance has so far been great for me. It definitely seems to be one of the more popular albums! Who knows though, maybe once we’re through with COVID, we’ll be lucky enough that BABYMETAL will play it again? 👀

That was a reaction!! LOL It took me a lot of time to get used to this song (and I still don't understand it) but it wasn't until I watched the live performance that it made sense. It's crazy but watching it is one of my most loved pleasures specially followed by "The One" as a combo which I revisit frequently :)

Nice video! Just like what you said, this song was only preformed once because of the technicality of it. In the live version, the Kami Band nailed it! They played all the riffs flawlessly. Here's a link of a live version kzbin.info/www/bejne/i4qThoOtgMmLfM0 . This has a babymetal logo overlay to prevent being blocked. You can somehow see the video though. Feel free to check it! There's also another song they only performed once. It was From Dusk Till Dawn. This uses more of the synth and more electronic/EDM type. Thanks for this reaction ! Someone joked when this song came out: "they put all the leftovers from the other songs on the album in one song." :-) A bit more serious: the writing of the song took 2 years. On and off working on it. Favourite Babymetal song, because they are so different, is actually really difficult task. Like comparing apples and oranges. Some fans just say: my favourite is the one I'm currently listening to. ;-)

I don't think Su was scared. She said she was excited because they never thought they'd get to perform it. It's not harder for the girls. It's the Kami Band that had to spend a lot of extra time rehearsing i'm sure. They asked the girls what the hardest song was for them and they didn't say Tales. The time signatures and all that doesn't matter for them.

Su definitely did say it was very difficult, here is a direct quote: "That song has no rhythm at all… well it’s there, but it’s not there (laughs). As such, the dance choreography was very difficult, and we spent a lot of time on it. As we practiced it over and over again I wondered if we could really perform it. And then… I can say this now, but I lost track of the sound about 10 seconds into the song, so I was completely lost for the first section, and it was a real source of regret. Tales is a really difficult song to perform, and I don’t know if I can perform it right now. I’m afraid to try because there’s a high possibility of failure, but at the same time, I still feel regrets and want to get my vengeance on it." Progressive metal at its finest, another BABYMETAL masterpiece it reminds of my favorite band alongside BABYMETAL ofc: Galneryus. But the inspiration for this song was the band Dream Theater

Great reaction - the link to the live version in a format you can use for a reaction has already been posted a couple of times in the comments so I hope you will use that. Sadly it cuts the piano bridge that led into 'The One' on the day short ... they played these two songs as the finale of the first night at Tokyo Dome in 2016. That was 20 minutes of pure magic that you should also get to see when you get a chance (and just say if you want the link to that).

Also the guitar riff at the beginning just before the vocals is exactly the the same as the beginning of THE ONE it makes sense as Koba did say in an interview talking about the songs on metal resistance that the 2 song originally was going to be one song. Yes I know I’ve just realised the guitar riff is the same as I was humming tails of the destinies in my head and went into the one instead so had to listen to both to find out.

I bought the Tokyo Dome DVD (Delorean) just for this and the bridge into "The One". The rest of the concert is awesome, but this is the only live performance of "Tales of The Destinies" and it's the height of Kobametal's art/artifice/showing off/seeing what he can get away with etc. It's a homage to Dream Theater, "The Dance of Eternity", even the two titles echo one another. This could have been a complete disaster if it wasn't written, played, sung and danced by people as talented as those connected with Babymetal. Anyone can buy the Tokyo Dome concerts DVD/Bluray that has Tales of The Destinies on it, but it cost me $100 including shipping. For around $20 you can get Live in London which has two early London concerts that have fantastic atmosphere and also for ~$20 the Live at Budokan Black and Red Nights DVD/Bluray which has lots of great Kami Band action. There's more available in Bluray format.

Nice reaction, as usual. This song tends to take the reactors to many "What the hell is happening", which is fun to see. Usually the song is categorized as progressive, but i'm not an expert on that field. I only can say that I love the song in every possible way.
