What the bible really says about tongues is shocking.
Christian’s are obviously so divided over this with some saying you have a demon if you speak with tongues and the other extreme saying you aren’t even saved if you don’t.
I can assure you that neither is true.
Paul says, “do all speak in tongues” and the answer to his question was no because everyone has different gifts.
He does say I WISH you all spoke with tongues and prophesied, and to covet the best gifts.
So the gift is not a matter of salvation
It is for personal edification and is beneficial to the one who speaks “not unto men but unto God.

Actually Paul writes about tounges and you're completely fine, you're using it rightly. Tounges can be used 2 ways. 1. One-on-one, basically just between you and God. Tounges builds up cause you're speaking a holy language you may not understand it, it's for God's glory. 2. Before others, with an interpreter. There is a gift of interpretation which is why Paul says let him speak quietly cause there's no interpreter. I know that's paraphrase. But if a separate interpreter is present then it is okay. A separate interpreter is necessary so there's no false interpretation. It builds everyone up with the interpretation

❤🙏✝️ I observed individuals practicing this on television and in church. Initially, I believed they were simply fabricating it, and I couldn't relate to it. However, one day while I was engrossed in reading the Bible at home, I began praying and suddenly, I experienced the overwhelming presence of the Holy Spirit. Without pause, I found myself speaking in tongues, overcome with a mixture of loud cries and tears. Although it felt like an extended period, it was merely a duration of 10 minutes. I was utterly drained and depleted of energy when it was over. My hope and prayer is that you, too, will encounter the holy Spirit and have the privilege of speaking in tongues. May God bless all of you! 😮😮

Amen - I'm not familiar with demonizing tongues, but I'm sure it must happen. I've seen the opposite where it is claimed that all spirit indwelled believers must speak in tongues. This is nearly the same as saying those lacking are not born again. Apostle Paul listed tongues as one of many gifts a believer may receive, and made clear that not everyone gets the same set of gifts - rather that we should each use our individual gift(s) in a functioning body over all. So we should not demonize each others gifts - nor lack thereof. God Bless

That's not what the Bible says. Biblically, there are different types of tongues. Not all kinds need interpretation. Personal tongues, for example, do not require interpretation, NOR are they a foreign, earthly language. It is a tongue to God for personal spiritual edification. Simple.

Without posting the entire 14th chapter of 1st Corinthians: 1Co 14:2,14-15,18-19,22,27,39-40: ² For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him; however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. … ¹⁴ For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. ¹⁵ What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding. … ¹⁸ I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all; ¹⁹ yet in the church I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I may teach others also, than ten thousand words in a tongue. … ²² Therefore tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe but to unbelievers; but prophesying is not for unbelievers but for those who believe. … ²⁷ If anyone speaks in a tongue, let there be two or at the most three, each in turn, and let one interpret. … ³⁹ Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues. ⁴⁰ Let all things be done decently and in order. It seems that there is the gift of tongues for the edification of the assembled Body of Christ, which must be interpreted. Paul instructed that such should not be spoken without an interpreter. It seems there are also tongues for personal spiritual edification which do not require interpretation, which is why Paul says to speak to oneself and to God. And then it also seems that there are tongues like on the day of Pentecost where there was no interpretation, and at first they thought the Christians were drunk, yet then everyone heard the works of God in their own language. Please understand, I am NOT saying that if you don't agree with me, you're going to hell and I hate you! NOR am I saying that if you don't speak in tongues, you're not even saved. Much love in Christ!

People abuse everything when we leave it up to ourselves. This is why we need the God of biblical revelation , not OUR interpretation. Anytime We interpret something, it’s a bias…it’s typically to edify, justify ourselves in one way or another. But the gift of tongues seems clear in this passage~ if there isn’t someone to interpret, than we are to be silent. I’ve never spoke in tongues. I had one very small experience w it and it didn’t seem right to me. It felt demonic. So I gave up on even wanting the gift. If I’m to have it , GOD will let me know. 100% there will be no doubt . But all these other preachers that abuse it, are hurting the body of Christ. It reminds me of the passage, “ none of you are good, no not one.” We are always trying to use God to further our own agenda. Idk. I’m still fairly new but tongues scare me. I’m going to just stick with God’s word. It’s safe, trustworthy and complete.

Speaking in tongue is NOT to prophesy nor to preach in pulpit - it's the language of the Spirit to speak with God - as Jesus said, "Pray in Spirit and in Truth". Tounge speaks the deepest truth of your heart TO GOD. You can't manipulate your prayer when you pray in Spirit with tounge. You can pour everything in your heart for hours to God while speaking in tounge. Then you will feel like lighter after like a burden is lifted up of your heart. I still dont understand why they keep using Paul's writing to use it against speaking in tounge. Holy spirit gave us the gift to pray in Spirit.

1 Corinthians 14 King James Version 14 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy. 2 For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. 3 But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. 4 He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church. 5 I would that ye all spake with tongues but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying. 6 Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine? 7 And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped? 8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle? 9 So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air. 10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification. 11 Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me. 12 Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church. 13 Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret. 14 For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. 15 What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. 16 Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest? 17 For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified. 18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all: 19 Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue. 20 Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men. 21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord. 22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe. 23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad? 24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all: 25 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth. 26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying. 27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret. 28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God. 29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge. 30 If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace. 31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted. 32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. 33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. 34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. 35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. 36 What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only? 37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. 38 But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant. 39 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. 40 Let all things be done decently and in order.

I think Paul was saying alot more than what you are pointing out. Speaking mysteries to God is simply saying.... no one understands you. Because what is a mystery to the all knowing? He also rebuked the church for their pagan influences which they also brought into the church like ecstatic tongues that the pagans were known for. Everyone is trying to appear holy o the outside but forgetting the emphasis of the inside. The gifts are for us to use to bring others to Christ and demonstrate his wonders and mercies which he does at his own will not on our every command

To the best of my understanding, speaking in tongues comes from the holy spirit, no one can truly speak in tongues without the holy spirit. Speaking tongues is used to charge your spirit man and cast out demons. You must first be baptized by water then by the holy spirit. So stop arguing with your fellow brethren and stop saying their opinions is from the devil. What you are doing isn't right.

I am a former Word of Faith Preacher.... 30 years ago I came to a place where I was tired of all the flaky stuff that was going on in my Church... and the claims of members that were totally extra-biblical and off the wall. So, I decided to start from scratch.... and build again from the only thing I knew was right.... Jesus is right. In my journey, I came to understand that were two extremes in the church.... cessationism and continuationism.... But I discovered one more view that I had not considered. If Isaiah 28:11 "For with stammering lips and another tongue He will speak to this people, " is fulfilled throughout the ministry of Christ... then... All the Continuists and Cessationists are all in big trouble. I had to literally redefine the concept of tongues as the language of God that Jesus and the Apostles spoke.... It's not hidden... it is written in black and white.

Nothing to be freaked out by. We just need emphasis on it being spoken in private and also Paul pointing out not everyone will prophesy and not everyone will speak in tongues even though he wish that were the case. If anyone wants clarification 1 Corinthians 14 2 Timothy 1:7 1 Timothy 5:22 It is important to also take KZbinrs with a grain of salt. We listen to the word of God and we study the word of God. We cannot dawn Truth without first studying to know what the truth is. And that’s one of todays biggest problems. I don't think it is about being worthy or not. Personally, I can't think of an example where God wouldn't give what he wanted to give to someone who believed in him, because they weren't worthy. In fact, I think it is a core principle in the gospel, that even though we weren't worthy, God still gave his only son to take upon him our punishment, so that whoever that believed in him should not perish, but have eternal life. To me it looks like in the book of acts that when people start believing in Jesus, they start speaking in tounges. The Bible says that when even the evil people know how to give good gifts to their children, how much more won't God give the holy spirit to whosoever asks him. So I think you should continue asking God for it :) And by the way, I also think that God not only wants you to be saved, I believe he wants you to grow in faith, for you to know him more and more, and be changed by him over time. Just as you get changed for the better being around good people, you get changed to become more like God when you spend time with him

1 Corinthians 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away The cessation of tongues and prophecies happened at the end of the Apostolic Age (End of 1st Century ) 1 Corinthians 14:22 Wherefore tongues (Gentile languages) are for a sign, not to them (Gentiles) that believe, but to them (Gentiles) that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe. 1) Tongues were foreign languages of the Gentile Nations that the Holy Spirit blessed the Apostles with so they can preach the Gospel to them. It's not a "supernatural" language from Heaven. 2) These tongues were given to the Apostles only and were used to preach to the Gentiles and were written in the New Testament.

1 Corinthians 13:8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away. Acts 2: 5-11 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. 6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. 7 And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? 8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? 9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, 10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God. The tongues the New Testament talks about are the gifts of tongues (earthly languages) that were exclusively given to the Apostles so they can go and preach the gospel to the nations in the language of those nations. I believe the Pentecostal interpretation of tongues is not biblical. 1) The language Pentecostals claim to have is a "supernatural" tongue, which is not in the bible. 2) The gifts were exclusive only to the Apostles, so the Gospel can be preached to the Gentile Nations. 3) Once the New Testament was preached to the Nations, and written into scripture, the tongues ceased and any more prophecies shall fail (See 1 Corinthians 13:8). Some Pentecostals claim to have the gift of prophecy. The only gift of prophecy a believer can have is the gift to preach the prophecies from the scripture only. When you preach additional prophecies or revelations, you are on dangerous grounds. (See Revelation 22:18)

I don't know how to speak in tongues, but there is scripture saying that it exists. If it existed back then, and He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, then: Why, would tongues suddenly stop existing? Same with miracles and anything else Christians refuse to believe. Which that is absolutely crazy to me, because, the fact that you are willing to believe the Word halfway, (or less, in most cases) yet not believe the very word itself in all of His Glory (Jesus is, was, and always will be the Word) by saying that this stuff is too "wu-wu fru-fru" for them, means; they open themselves up to demonic attack. My Christian therapist told me that people can't be possessed. How CAN you believe the same Bible I believe in, yet not believe in everything He did? Or, do people like him, think that that could only happen 2,000 years ago??? 🤔 these "Christians" need to be all in.

There is absolutely nothing mysterious about Biblical "tongues" - and there is only one type - when referring to something spoken, they are nothing more than real, rational language(s); usually, but not always, unknown to those listening to them, but always known by the speaker(s) - it’s their native language (in some cases, it is a language the speaker has learned). In contrast, the “tongues” Pentecostal and Charismatic Christians are producing today is an entirely self-created phenomenon. It is non-cognitive non-language utterance; random free vocalization based upon a subset of the existing underlying sounds (called phonemes) of the speaker’s native language, and any other language(s) the speaker may be familiar with or have had contact with. It is, in part, typically characterized by repetitive syllables, plays on sound patterns, alliteration, assonance, and over-simplification of syllable structure. It is also interesting to note that any disallowed sound combinations, i.e. consonant clusters, in the speaker’s native language are also disallowed in his/her tongues-speech. Further, this subset of phonemes typically contains only those sounds which are easiest to produce physiologically. Occasionally some speakers will use two or more subsets of phonemes to generate glossolalia, producing what, to them, sounds like two (or more) distinct “tongues languages”, thus claiming to be able to speak in “divers tongues”. There is absolutely _nothing_ that “tongues-speakers” are producing that cannot be explained in relatively simple linguistic terms. Conversely, when it comes to something spoken, there are absolutely _no_ Biblical references to “tongues” that do not refer to, and cannot be explained in light of, real rational language(s), though it may not be the explanation you want to hear, and it may be one which is radically different from what you believe, or were taught. _Nowhere in the Bible is modern tongues-speech advocated or evidenced._ “Praying in the Spirit” does _not_ refer to the words one is saying. Rather, it refers to how one is praying. In the three places it is used (Corinthians, Ephesians, and Jude), there is absolutely zero reference to 'languages' in connection with this phrase. “Praying in the Spirit” should be understood as praying in the power of the Spirit, by the leading of the Spirit, and according to His will. I'm not doubting or questioning the 'tongues experience'; glossolalia as the spiritual tool that it is, can be very powerful and, for many people, the experience is profound. As one commenter put it, “Speaking in tongues distracts the ego/analytical/conscious mind while leaving the subconscious (the heart) wide open to import the divine." Both the spiritual and physical benefits of using this tool are also well documented. Again though, it is important to note that this same statement can be made for virtually _any_ other culture that practices glossolalia. Religious and cultural differences aside, the glossolalia an Evenki Shaman in Siberia, a vodoun priestess in Togo and a Christian tongues-speaker in Alabama are producing are in no way different from each other. They’re all producing their glossolalia in the exact same way; they just have different explanations and beliefs as to why they’re doing it, and where it comes from. ‘Tongues’ (read, *‘languages’* ) - the divine gift, is the God given ability effortlessly learn to speak and be understood through real-language barriers. It is not xenoglossy, nor is it modern tongues-speech. As a point of note, I’m a Linguist, and let me also add here that I am neither a so-called ‘cessationist’ nor a ‘continuationist’ - I do not identify with either term; in fact, I had never heard the two terms until just late in 2016. As far as I’m concerned, quite frankly, since the Biblical reference of “tongues” is to real, rational languages, obviously “tongues” haven’t “ceased”. It’s one thing to speak another language but another thing altogether to interpret/translate. If my native language is English and I learn German enough to be able to speak it to get by, it does not necessarily mean I can adequately translate; I may be able to get across the gist of what I’m trying to say, but to express the nuances, particularly with things like prayer, is actually quite a difficult task. Given then the difficulties faced in translation/interpretation, it is not at all unreasonable for a person in a multi-lingual church situation to ask God for help so that the rest of the church can be edified through their participation. Again, it should also be pointed out that the interpretation is not confined to the one speaking as referred to in v13 and in v5. Verse 28 indicates others also can interpret, and of course, there’s no specific time frame referenced. Paul then goes on to indicate, that if the person can’t translate (whether himself or through a translator), he should keep quiet and pray silently to himself.

@@joshgellock Peter and Cornelius - A Roman soldier’s “household” typically consisted of his immediate family, a retinue of fellow soldiers, and numerous slaves. His relatives, like Cornelius, would have presumably spoken Latin. Educated Romans would have also spoken Greek over Latin. Fellow soldiers also spoke Latin, but as Roman soldiers they could have come from just about anywhere in the Empire. Likewise, and especially, his slaves. For these latter two groups, Latin and Greek would have likely been second/third languages. In short, though his fellow soldiers, and his slaves, spoke Latin, it may not at all have been their native language(s). His slaves almost certainly not. Like the soldiers, their native language(s) could have come from anywhere in the Roman Empire. In Cornelius’ household, we have several people who comprised a multi-lingual group. We must also surmise that most of this company also spoke Greek in varying degrees. From the narrative, we know that the incident is reported from the perspective of Peter and his group, and “They (Peter and his company) heard them speaking in languages (“tongues”) and praising God”. From this, we can deduce two types of speech here: (1) speech that Peter and his group understood, and (2) speech they did not understand. Considering Peter and his company report in the narrative that they knew that some of what was said were praises to God, it must have been said in a language they knew (likely Greek, but possibly some recognized Latin). Some of what was said however, they did not understand because it was foreign to them. Peter and his company did not speak, nor apparently recognize, those languages. When a bi-lingual or multi-lingual speaker utters something suddenly/spur of the moment in an emotional outburst (not to be taken with any negative connotations), the speaker will _always_ revert to their native language. That’s just a known fact. These people here were in the same situation and reverted to languages Peter and his company did not speak. Hence, as far as Peter and his company were concerned, they began “speaking in tongues (read “languages”)”. The reference to the situation being just as it was on Pentecost is a reference to the _manner_ in which they were speaking (i.e. declaring the mighty works of God in a “bold and authoritative manner”), just as the apostles did on Pentecost - it has nothing to do with what language they were speaking, but rather the _manner_ in which they were speaking, that was the same as on Pentecost. No modern tongues-speech here; just unrecognized real languages. Paul in Ephesus - Like Corinth, Ephesus was a cultural melting pot. It was also on a seaport and boasted what we might call today a “tourist attraction”; one of the seven wonders of the ancient world - the temple of Artemis. It’s quite possible, and given what happened based on the narrative, quite probable, that these individuals Paul met were not native Ephesians; thus, not native speakers of Greek. Again, there are two types of speech referenced here: one that Paul understood, and one he did not. We are not told what the native language of Paul’s new friends was. It appears however, that both these people and Paul conversed in the ‘common tongue’ of the day: Greek; a language Paul understood. When Paul baptized them, they may have simply been, out of joy of receiving the Holy Spirit one may assume, expressing themselves in their native language; one that Paul was obviously not familiar with. The fact that they began speaking in a language unknown to Paul, further lends to the idea that these believers were not native Ephesians. No modern tongues-speech, just the unnamed native language of these disciples. In all three cases, the only “initial evidence of tongues” is these believers’ own native languages; understood by them, but not always understood by those hearing them. Zero modern tongues-speech here folks.

@@kavikv.d.hexenholtz3474 I'm not going to "write a book" like you have. However, it certainly seems as though you're saying in Acts 10 and Acts 19, the believers who were speaking in tongues weren't really speaking in tongues, just speaking in their own languages that Peter and Paul didn't understand. It seems to me that what you're declaring is in direct contradiction to the Scripture. The Scripture makes it clear that they spoke in tongues - namely that it was exactly how it was in Acts 2. Lol, you almost remind me of William Barclay, who tried to "explain away" the miracles in Scripture because they didn't align with his own beliefs. He couldn't accept the miraculous power of God, and such his commentaries always tried to show how what's in Scripture isn't really what happened. If two people sit across from me on the bus, and are having a conversation in Spanish, French, Russian, or some other language, it's going to sound like gibberish/babel to me. It doesn't mean their language is invalid, it just means I don't understand what they're saying. It's not apples to apples, however, because Scripture clearly says they spoke with tongues in Acts 2, 10, and 19. And we know that the church in Corinth was as well. But in Acts 10, and Acts 19, we are not told what the languages are, or what even the experience was - just that they started speaking in tongues.

Amen!! 🙌 My dear sweet mother-in-law was going to a Pentecostal church. Made me go with her... 2 preachers on stage took turns speaking loud jibberish and preaching a sermon in barely audible English due to the humunuh-humunuhs going on from the other guy. It actually scared me! Later they were taking prayer requests and my MIL was asking for prayer for her youngest child, my brother-in-law, and she was crying and pounding her fist 👊 on the back of the pew in front of her... a woman sitting behind her rubbed her shoulders and said, "Keep going sister Blanche, the Holy Spirit is upon you!" When my MIL finished her urgent request, one preacher said, "Sister Blanche you ALMOST had the Holy Spirit but you stopped too soon. Better luck next time." 😠 WHAT? So I told my husband everything and he started talking to his mom more about the true gospel and showing her how the Holy Spirit isn't something we have and then don't and then do again and so on... she left that church and went to another Pentecostal church. This time she forced my husband, myself, and our kids to join her. This time a woman in the choir stood up, seemingly out of the blue, and made some loud jibberish. She sat down and then stood back up to interpret her own jibberish... however it appeared she was reading what to say from somewhere beyond where we were sitting. 🤣 Scripture is clear that IF someone speaks in tongues, SOMEONE ELSE has to interpret it. Well anyways, both churches have led my MIL to question if she truly is born again, Holy Spirit indwelt, and saved. 😠😭 Since covid came around she hasn't gone anywhere and as far as church is concerned that's a good thing for her!! We are constantly talking to her about Salvation. Shame she can't get off the milk..... but that is what CONFUSION does. 😭

These are my thoughts. I think that the gifts of the holy spirit/ghost should be seen as tools of spreading the word of God. God will offer to SOME of those who receive the holy ghost, the ability to speak in other tongues/languages. And St. Paul is writing to the Corinthians about people speaking in languages unknown to those around them, in spaces where no one has the spirit of discerning tongues, or those speaking in ancient and angelic tongues that no one uses anymore. And this doesn't edify the heart or spirit of those around them, so the person with that gift is only edifying himself. Again, only some people with the gift of holy ghost will have the gift of tongues to begin with per the word.

I love praying in tongues because it is more powerful than praying in your normal language. But on the language matter; That is also where Justin Peters has got it wrong because he does not read nor analyse the Bible properly. The Bible does not say that the disciples began to speak in the languages of those who heard them. It says that they spoke in "other tongues". Meaning that it was an unknown language that is not known to man. They spoke in unknown languages but the ones who heard them, all heard them speak in their own languages. That was a miracle! In other words, the miracle was not in the mouths of the speakers but rather in the ear of the listeners! They all spoke in other tongues (what unspiritual people would call "gibberish"), and yet the ones who heard it, through the Almighty Power of God, was able to clearly understand them because they heard their own languages. That is why I tell you that with God, nothing is impossible. Although they spoke in other tongues, the listeners each got the message in their own languages and completely understood them. Remember, they did not speak in normal human languages but in other tongues (so called "gibberish") and yet because nothing is impossible with God, each listener could clearly hear the message in his own language. The miracle was not in the mouth of the speaker but actually happened in the ear of the listener! Praise the Lord Jesus! He can do all things! Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (Please note that it says "other tongues", not the tongues of their listeners!) How were the listeners able to hear their own languages even though the disciples spoke in other tongues? Because the Holy Ghost spoke through them and with God, all things are possible! Acts 2 : 4-12 [4] And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. [5] And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. [6] Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. [7] And they were all amazed and marvelled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans? [8] And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? [9] Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, [10] Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, [11] Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God. [12] And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this? I know a man who regularly prayes in tongues and he once went to visit a very wealthy man at his work place. When he arrived there, the wealthy man complained to him that one of his employees were stealing from him but he didn't know whom it was. So this man decided to pray and to ask God to reveal unto the rich man who the thief was. He then went to the toilet and prayed in tongues behind a closed door. He prayed in tongues as we all regularly pray (what some call "gibberish). When he stepped out of the toilet, there was an employee who was from a different country. He asked him "Are you able to speak such and such a language?". He answered "No". And the man said, "Then how are you able to reveal in my own language who the thief is? You have just revealed in my native language who the thief is and also where and how to locate and find him!". The man was later arrested and everything was revealed and exposed. That man was just praying in tongues as he always does at home and yet God used it to communicate with a total stranger! And the stranger got the message in his own language! So praying in tongues is very powerful and Christians must pray in tongues! I remember, years ago, when I was still a young boy, here in Cape Town, a man collapsed in front of a crowd and died of a heart attack. Someone felt his pulse and confirmed that he had died. They called for an ambulance but waited for more than an hour for it to arrive. Meanwhile A group of born again Christians were preaching the gospel nearby and were singing with a guitar. They saw the crowd and came to see what the commotion was about. When they saw the dead body, they layed hands on it and started to pray in tongues. After praying for several minutes, the man came back to life! The whole crowd, including Muslims and unbelievers all clapped hands and were amazed! So tongues is in God's will and it is powerful! It is not gibberish! It destroys the kingdom of darkness!

@@unknown_amazing_chap it’s not Biblical. Your analysis of that section from Acts is very shallow. They’re speaking in other tongues, as in other languages. And the people who speak those languages are understanding their own tongues.

@@longquynh10 making arguments in silence isn't convincing anyone. Satan is a powerful being. Of course, all dominion belongs to Christ both now and forever, but to say that Satan is powerless or unable to understand languages I think is rather foolish. Did demons themselves not speak with the tongues of men in the Gospels? Did Satan himself not speak to Christ directly in the tongues of men? So, it would seem reasonable and logical that Satan knows the tongues of men, and probably of angels, considering he was one - and even now appears as one. So, again, there's no biblical basis I've found that says speaking in tongues is some secret hotline to God that Satan doesn't understand. That's eisegesis, not exegesis.

Unknown Tongues are foreign languages Unknown to the hearers like If I speaking to God in German, nobody would understand me, its a mystery to youu. Nowhere does it say a heavenly language, nor angelic languages. Angles speak all through the bible in understandable human languages. Gibberish babel is not a language. Corinthians 14:9-10 KJV So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air. [10] There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification. This clearly states languages that are not understood they go to the air. Gibberish babel is not an understood language, so why would you speak that when you can speak in your own native language that had significant action. 1 Corinthians 14:15 KJV What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. Tongues are for the unbelievers, not the believers. Tongues are human foreign languages, just like the books of Acts 2. Gift of tongues are to be able to preach the gospel in foreign languages. Not all have these gifts, only who he chooses. So all the Pentecostals Charasmatics claim they all have this gift, false. Tongues are the least best gifts as well, but yet they put this ad the best gift. So. If you speak in this gibberish babbling , it's not the gift of tongues l, it's a counterfeit language. I was one of these people, I had to relearn everything all over again. I left the Pentecostal movement all together. Azusa Street brought the movement in 1906. They were barking like dogs, foaming out the mouth, laying on the floor....Google it. This is demonic and paganism. William Semore said speaking in tongues is the evidence in having the holyghost. Acts 2:4. False. Ephesians 1:13-14 KJV In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, [14] Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. Nothing about speaking in tongues. Study the word, I suggest you get out if you are in that religion. God bless
