Well, the Bible does not say this. I guess you're trying to process the realm of disembodied existence with your bodily existing brain. Just to be clear, the Scriptures do not say anywhere about stepping out of time. In fact, Jesus was dead for 3 days (in Paradise, as He promised to the dying thief), Revelation talks about millennial captivity and reign (very time conscious), the martyrs at the throne cry out "How long...?" - definitely not timeless existence.
@123ppap2 ай бұрын
@ringthembells143 absolutely. There are numerous time references of the afterlife existence in the New Testament. Even phrases like "How long?", "today in Paradise", "3 days", "waiting" and so on.

@@NickD13 It was August 29th of 2023...and a procedure to remove a biliary stone, a rarity in itself. The procedure went well...then went 'south' a few hours later. I am one of 7 in the world. The first thing to know is that I was not expected to live...I was critical and had lost a lot of blood. The event was completely unexpected. I was in a coma for nearly a week...then started coming out of it off and on. I was never afraid...never any sense of fear or terror. It was so peaceful. In the time I was in and out, I was led through the most beautiful green grass...but I wasn't walking in the sense we know walking. I stood in front of an old antebellum house, just below the porch rails and looking up. I thought how beautiful it would be if someone could repair it. Then I was led (and I mean led, because I wasn't moving in a way that I considered to move) to the bow of an old ship with a beautifully carved figurehead. Again, I thought about why someone would let these two things decay. But I was urged on through the soft grass...uncut and swaying gently in a breeze I couldn't feel but I saw in the things around me. As I moved away from the two first visions, they began to blow away...like sand. They were the past. I was led further along a grassy path and toward a narrow, crystal-clear stream...gently flowing along. No rapids or loud noise...just a slight burbling. I was led over the stream without getting my feet wet, though I had no feeling of having feet or a body. That may sound strange, but it is what it is...then further along the now sandy path. The forest I found myself in was suffused with the most wonderful and peaceful light! There are no words for it! There was no underbrush or weeds, just the soft grass carpeting the ground between a multitude of trees. Beautiful trees with leaves of greens and yellows that defy words. They looked like crystal...glass...gently rustling in the breeze. I remember being so awed by the beauty! And the PEACEFULNESS! I felt warm and loved. Far, far ahead was a tremendously bright light...and somehow, I knew what it was, it was the place of GOD's throne in heaven. But whoever was leading me would not allow me to go further. Somehow, I understood that it was not my time to go there. The next thing I remember was feeling someone roughly using their knuckle to rub my sternum...trying to get me to respond. I heard the gurney's metal rattling as they were rushing me to CT, thinking I'd had a stroke. I also remember opening my eyes and glaring at the one pushing it over my head! LOL! So...no...it wasn't my time to go home to my LORD. Maybe it was time for me to have a beautiful glimpse of Paradise to encourage others. The first thing that came to me later was Psalm 23...He leads me beside still waters. To me, He was telling me that I would live and be okay. I trust Him fully...and I do not fear. Our LORD is always present for His children.

The problem I see with what is being said. they Focus too much on death, And the human body. Which are all things of the world. Which has them focusing too much on things of the flesh. Missing the point of why we were born. Yes we were born into sin due to the corruption of the world. That is known as the original sin. Of our forefathers Adam and Eve. It's the gift of free will that the Lord God has given all of us. And what we do with it will make the difference. The Holy Bible and its teachings gives us the blueprints and directions through our free will. To make the choice of accepting the Lord God and Jesus Christ as well as the Holy Trinity. or choose to accept none of it or only parts of it. And see where that leads us. Which sin would be the rejection of the Lord God and Jesus Christ and the Holy Trinity. If you're focused too much on worldly things or things of the flesh. You will lose sight of things that are important. Always remember that the Lord God is always in charge, he did not have to allow you to be born. Just like Adam and Eve who were given the gift of free will of either accepting the Lord God and Jesus Christ or turning our back. To the word of the Lord God and choosing evil. Which is a rejection of the Lord God. Basically our destiny is in our own hands. The Holy Bible explains all this to us. Either we truly love the Lord God and Jesus Christ. And want to be with them. Or we don't. The choice is ours as individuals to make. The only suggestion I can make. Is stop trying to find some secret hidden meaning that you think will make you special or makes you special. And focus on the word of the Lord God and Jesus Christ and the Holy Trinity. Asking each day when you read the Holy Bible. To be guided to the truth and understanding of the word of the Lord God. Recognizing all of us are mere mortal humans that make mistakes and can easily be misled

@ringthembells143 that buy all definition is known as a speculative thought process. Which then brings in hypotheses and conjecture. What was the reason for the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. It clearly tells you in the Holy Bible. It would be wise never to pick and choose bits and pieces and come to a assumption. It also clearly states why there were animal sacrifices. But that had nothing to do with washing away the original sin. Go back to the 40 days and 40 nights that Jesus Christ spent in the desert. It will explain Lucifer's domain, and gives us a little insight including free will of why things are the way they are but you have to go through the entire Holy Bible and not just take out bits and pieces, to get the whole picture it explains it in detail.

I disagree with the good Dr Heiser on annihalationism. Mainly because, Jesus came to humanity into our limited, temporal existance. The suffering He took on has eternal ramifications for those who accept it bc He, as God, is eternal. BUT, why should it NOT be that those who reject his TEMPORAL suffering in their place should not choose for themselves an eternal suffering that glorifies the RIGHTEOUSNESS of God. If it pleased God to punish sin in His Son who became sin for those who would accept that mercy, why should it not honor God's perfect justice to continue to honor the freewill of those who rejected Him by rewarding them with the self-sacrifice THEY have chosen. I believe that's WHY it's hell, they will get to experience the sacrifice Christ made, but it will be too late to accept it. Is thos not ultimately the fate of ther serpent/Satan/the Devil as he is drawn in like a hooked fish to taking on mortal flesh in order to rule a this temporal world, but ultimately relegated to the eternal lake of fire, which I believe Is mentioned as existing outside the gates ofbthe ETERNAL city in the endbof Revelation? Why should the rebels followers not share a similar fate? If physical death is abolished, and no spiritual LIFE can then be accepted bc they have rejected to will of Christ and Heaven, then they must eternally exist OUTSIDE of God's presence. They cannot die, but EISH they could! Is this not what is described in Rev 9 with the STING of the resurrected Watcher-Locust beasts? Men WISH they could die! Sounds like a forecasted of hell to me!

I have to disagree here. Jesus conquers death. The act of dying isn’t “death” so much as being in the underworld is. Jesus conquered death and people were seen in the New Testament resurrected. Sheol no longer had a grip on those who had chosen God. While Sheol was split into various areas, it was all understood to be one place. Jesus showing up with Moses and Elijah is a pronouncement on the end of death for his followers. The end of the first death. Second death is hellfire (suffering or annihilation). Christians who die go to paradise, whether that be a conquered Sheol or a heavenly place because the grave has no hold on us. "I am the Living One; I was dead, and now look, I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades." Rev 1:18 "The tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared to many people." Matthew 27 Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?'" John 11 The act of dying is trivial. Being stuck in death is the real “death”. Jesus conquered that. Sin was the corruption and death. God told Adam the day he ate of the fruit he would die. That corruption of sin is death. This physical body must die because it is sinful but no longer does death have a hold on our souls if we believe in Jesus. We will be with him. That is knowable. That is comfort.

Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever-" therefore the Lord God sent him out from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken.” Genesis 3:22-23 ESV The narrative points to gods original intention and purpose to provide eternal life to humanity by fully dwelling with us in the person of Jesus. This is pointed at through the very beginning by the tree of life and the promise of the snake crusher. Jesus steps into both of those categories and redeems the world back to God our father and gives humanity the opportunity for new creation that can receive eternal life. that is not a lie, that is the gospel!
