Honestly, getting frustrated watching essendon fans make the same mistake of counting their chickens before they've hatched. I know plenty of essendon fans, and even as a pies supporter, I want the Bombers to break the shackles and grow into a mature, contending side. They've all waited long enough. But yet, there will be more tears this year, as yet again they have made the most of the easy fixture but have significantly failed when challenged by good sides in form. I don't know if Essendon fans have actually looked at the remaining fixture. At least 6 losses, which means 14-8-1 which will result in a home elimination final. Still gotta win that against handy opposition. Any more losses, very possible, and that's an away elimination final if not missing finals altogether. Big sad. Just as likely to lose a final or miss, than they are to win one. Too early to be carrying on, beat some top 8 sides and then you can start dreaming. If they fly through the fixture and only lose 4-5 games for the season then yes, get excited, but that won't happen because the team is simply not in the top 5 sides.

Essendon’s stoppage work has been pretty good all year. It’s dropped off for a week or 2, coincidentally at the same time as some injuries. They’ll get it back.

@@taliamason7986 Parish is a fantastic player. He’s never gonna give you a clean stat sheet via foot, but the way he swoops on the ball from inside and moves it outside with hands is exceptional. His defensive game has improved and he runs all day. Hobbs out as well, Durrsma out, Draper as well, despite the nonsense getting talked that Draper was to make room for the good form of a 36 year old? Ridiculous!!! The guy is an out and out competitor. We miss him enormously.

Well yes, beaten at clearance, and were against North too, and even WC gave em a hard time. But PA aside that is an area the the Bombers had been doing well in, even against Collingwood, Sydney and the Bulldogs. It is no coincidence that Drapers absence means the load on the old guy in the ruck has increased dramatically at a time when he was due for a break. He is getting beaten now and not feeding the onballers as much. No Parish or Setterfield as well atm. The positive is that when a strength of a side is nullified, they still draw on other strengths to win games. The Bombers are doing just that.

Actually the ad breaks run roughly the same amount of time after rye first 30 minutes of the show. I know this because I am always switching channels on ad breaks for a few minutes or doing the dishes and a lot of time I either switch to back it slightly late or just on time when the ad break is done. If anything the ads on the 9 Now app and website are much longer.

Have played 3 against 3 of the premiership contenders that were could or should be top 4, beat one convincingly, stuck close to another for 3.5 quarters (and have since improved as a team defensively and midfield wise). They drew the reigning premiers. And they lost convincingly to port at thier home before their injuries. We haven’t had many chances to play top 8 teams, and we’ve beaten some teams that would be top 4 if we hadn’t beaten them

West Coast smashed Melbourne in Perth, Essendon beat West Coast. Adelaide almost beat Collingwood in Melbourne, Essendon beat Adelaide in Adelaide, Western Bulldogs have been impressive at times, Essendon beat them, Collingwood are the reigning premiers, Essendon drew with them. Early in the year St Kilda were in form, had beaten Collingwood, then they faced Essendon & got beaten. Essendon have won 5 games in which they went in as underdogs. Not sure what your point is, as you need to understand that had many of these teams beaten Essendon, they would be in the 8 themselves & above Essendon.
