Boys...They're listening they're doing it! (Somewhat but still)

I still think the artstyle is too clean and doesn’t mimic the gritty style of the manga. So far the color palette is muted and washed out, and backgrounds are blurred and dully urban. The opening was much more high energy and vibrant so I hope that’s indicative of future handling of the more 'colorful' arcs.

Fujimoto is very involved in the production of the show, the CEO of mappa also said that they had to find a younger director to highlight his creativity, almost all the staff are great talents of the young generation, except for Takeda and a few others who are older, even Fujimoto and his editor said that the storyboards are perfect and that they are very happy that they put so much passion into this project. We only saw about 60-70 cuts in this trailer, we'll see what the final product will look like. I also think the Chainsaw man devil designs are a bit tough for such colours because they are so detailed, but looking at the staff they probably could do some cuts and it would be a shame if they don't

Regardless, I know it'll be a great adaptation because i'm familiar with a few of the people who worked on this most notable Devilman Crybaby, it would be a bit sad of the acid trip side of chainsaw man is not here, but as you said small trailer so i have faith. We can even see with certain makima clips her hair is very pink and the entire scene is very bleached looking.

@@BeyondAnimation A lot of people are looking for things to complain about but there's almost nothing at all, people are now nitpicking things that are totally subjective(twitter), I agree with you about the colors but I also think the staff is on the right track looking at the Chainsaw man themes, and also Ryu Nakayama the director of Chainsaw man was inspired by Shingo Yamashita and that is also one of the reasons why Chainsaw man's animation style looks like this

HELLO! I just watched all your chainsawman content and I just wanna say YOU ARE A GENIUS! The way you dissected intimacy in chainsawman and the other of Fujimoto’s work was a breath of fresh air. I look forward to future content from you :D

It is true that the anime dose not replicate the manga’s colours the same! I agree. But I like to think of them as separate pieces of media telling the same story. Chainsaw man part 1 is about the flaws created in the characters because of the world they live in, and while the manga highlights the craziness of everyone, the anime highlights the tragedy with it’s muted colour palettes. That being said, I do love Tatski Fijimoto’s colouring work, and would have loved Chainsaw Man’s anime just the same if that was the route they went with. Great videos btw! For some reason I’ve been really into chainsaw man recently and seek to find more content 👍

I also want to play around the aspect ratio in some important scenes to add tension or whatever emotion it give to the viewer.

I totally agree. The anime looked polished and colours look similar to real life It looks simple but fluid but not a lot of vibrant colours which is disappointing which I hope changes when the anime airs.

Here a comment after two episodes of anime: I think they know what they are doing. Why? Look at the opening. Visuals are mainly "gray" but when things get intense... Color pops! The poisonous animals that Makima offers Denji, and also demons dancing with crazy colors. I'm really happy with what they made, so it's time to just relax and enjoy

I really think it's gonna take a dark gritty tone without much color variation besides maybe during comedic bits
@BeyondAnimation2 жыл бұрын
Dark and gritty can be enhanced with vibrant colors, depends on what colors you use. Red, yellow, purple. Jojo tends to pull it off well, but I understand understand you mean

@@BeyondAnimation(sorry for my bad english) it,s Really good. It reminded me of some of the 90s anime. Where the colors and compositing are so Beautiful and the movements are surprisingly so Smooth. Btw thanks for the video

What I wouldn't give for mappa to translate Fujimoto's amazing pop-art into animation.

Something about the "lack" of color in the csm anime trailer works for me since csm is so dark, gritty and not upbeat at all. Then again, the fanmade colored panels are awesome, so I think both are going to be great to me
@BeyondAnimation2 жыл бұрын
The colored panels are official, from the digital color release in Japan, and all the colored pages (not panels) in the video are official aswell. Bright and colorful didn't mean it's upbeat. Jojo for example uses bright abstract colors as stated while being extremely dark violent and gritty. The colorful side if chainsawman highlights the unique acid trip abstract side of it
@mrsninis_04772 жыл бұрын
@@BeyondAnimation hmm. I think that is subjective. If something is darker and more grey it's not upbeat, and if it is colorful it is almost always upbeat. I didn't know there were official colored pages, thats awesome! I was talking about the fanmade ones you can find on reddit or twitter
@BeyondAnimation2 жыл бұрын
Using color doesn't make things upbeat. Certain colors correspond to certain feelings and emotions. I'll keep referencing Jojo because it does that, if you haven't seen jojo you'd think vibrant colors are always upbeat, but that simple isnt the case. A sky being red instead of blue is ominous, shades of yellow represent sickness. It's not really subjective, color is powerful tool, and I keep seeing people say vibrant, when the video isn't discussing vibrant colors, but playing with the every changing colors that chainsaw man is known for doing

Just watched the trailer and it seems like its going to keep that cinematic look throughout the show, and on that note I also finished watching the cyberpunk anime and holy shit the coloring in that was phenomenal. I wish chainsaw man had the same style and flair.

@@BeyondAnimation I think the anime adaptation is within Fujimoto's tastes as he loves movies and probably prefers a cinematic direction more reminiscent of film than a stylish anime production like trigger. Still that doesn't excuse the fact that colors could've been used more creatively in the anime as to capture the feel of his manga/covers.

@@BeyondAnimation my only criticism would be to get straight to your point at the start of the video instead of the minutes of prefacing, something like starting the video with "Color. Many anime use it in creative ways, or even the absence of it such as in Gintama..." etc. Basically hit em hard and fast with what you want to say and don't be as concerned with having to set up the premise of why you are about to explain what you want to say. Just a thought bro it's your channel and your ideas so go at it how you see fit, I'm still gonna watch regardless😁✌️

To be honest, I like structuring the video the way I do, I feel like rushing to the point isn't something I like doing. But I get it, it's not for everyone

@@BeyondAnimation understandable and like I said I'll still watch your channel because I like your videos, I only mentioned the criticism in relation to the video title because it grabbed my attention, yet it took 3 and a half minutes (of in my opinion unnecessary setup as to your reasoning of why, you could mix in all those reasonings throughout the vid while still starting with the point you're trying to make) before reaching the crux of said title on what the anime needs. I mean no offense and I apologize if I sounded harsh, criticism is never easy to take and that's why I asked you first if you're cool with me elaborating lol🙏 anyway I appreciate what you do and the love you show for all the shit you're interested in including chainsawman, the manga is so good and I know we both are hoping that the anime does it justice
