You won't be able to see them in that truest element of their true self, unless they are at absolute rock bottom, such as impending death, destitution, or terminal illness, so I never recommend speculating on the range of motivations behind their malignant actions.

I'm in the middle of a divorce as you know. Having to live with him in my house is tense. He's on the computer looking for a new woman which is OK with me. He's got to move out of the house. He says he can't afford to move! Like my lawyer said, it's his problem 😀. So, he's sort of being a little nice. He's not looking like he's getting ready to move. 🤬🤬. Thankfully, I separated the finances, bought my own car, it's a great thing to do before the papers are served. No joint property 😁. That might be a good video to do in the future. One I unfortunately got involved with told me very early in the relationship he was "very high on empathy". He repeated this phrase many times as if trying to convince me (or himself). The one I knew told me a little too often that she hated liars. I started to make me suspicious. There was something she had told me once that she had done 4 times. Came to find out that she had told her husband that it was 3 times. I resisted saying "but you told me it was 4 times. The main characteristic of all narcisists is the absence of true empathy in their character, and thus, in their interactions with others. This is the big "red flag" that the narcisist hides behind their back, whenever interacting with others. As empaths, we feel "guilty" when we think to question the claims of the narcisist. Thus, when they are telling us that they are "holding a beautiful white flag behind their back" we deem it impolite to ask to "see the white flag" and choose to take their word for it. Thus, considerable time often transpires before we become aware of the red flag. Solution: A wise man once said: "The definition of insanity, is repeating the same behavior, while expecting a different result." Whenever you meet new people, be on the "lookout" for the red flags that formerly popped up in past "crash and burn" relationships. Take the time to ask questions. Don't regard it as impolite to seek more information from those who "need something from you". Most importantly, take careful note of how new people interact with others. The narc will never offer money, resources, or help to others, unless there is a clear gain for them by doing so. The narc always engages in interactions that lead to "getting the long end of the stick". Otherwise, they can't be bothered to actually offer help to others, and their response is limited to a display of feigned concern, followed by a change of subject. Your "defense" for being "reeled in" by a narcisist, lies in paying close attention to the details offered to you ... and, asking direct questions for the details that aren't. Remember ... the honest person does not mind giving further details about things that they have already told you. Whereas, the deceiver loathes questions that they have not spent time preparing for.

If there’s someone present who doesn’t fall for their phony- self, he gets SO uncomfortable and often times will leave. He will spend $$ on strangers just to get them to like and want him.! He stole $1200 from me and took another man away for a weekend trip!!! We were in heterosexual marriage- I fully believe he’s a gay manboy, but too scared to step out of the closet. It’s uncomfortable when I watch him interact with other men- he’s so desperate for their attention and admiration! It’s extremely nauseating! I’m the trophy wife and he refuses to let me go to live my best life! He keeps me locked away in our beautiful custom built home- he believes material things make others and myself happy- our life appears perfect to strangers. Our curb appeal is desirable. We have four gorgeous daughters whom he’s bitterly jealous of.

Some of the things mentioned in the beginning of this and some of your other videos are leaving me to question myself and my own motives when it comes to relating to others. If you don't have any mal intentions of wanting people to trust you then sounds like you have a bit of codependency going on; seeking validation from others. Narcissists can make us this way as well, where we become insecure and constantly seeking approval.

Very good presentation, I enjoyed it. Just one point regarding the pronunciation of "covert." The "o" should be pronounced as in the words "low" or "slow" or "know" or "no" or "row." The English language is complicated. I thought you needed to know. Keep up your excellent work!
