Yeeeeeeesssssss I love seeing Quar slowly infiltrating all of my favorite hobby channels. I'm honestly in the same boat as you -- I saw them, said "eh, not for me," and went about my day. But they never really left my feed after that. After hearing how fun the skirmish rules are for umpteenth time, I gave in an bought the starter box and I've been a fanatic ever since. The aesthetics combined with the way that the game is supported by both ongoing plastic production and STL expansion is just very cool.

Love this kit. Not only do you get a smattering of infantry, but you get TWO (2) -tankettes- tractors. I'm always on the lookout for good proxies for Warhammer, and I clocked the Fidwog box as surprisingly useful as a cheap source of Sentinel proxies for Imperial Guard. Just set them on an appropriate base, and you're good. (Although for the sake of replicating the right height, you might want to put them on top of a raised platform, or build a tree on the base that curves over it). But still, Quar itself is a lovely game with a rather unique system for actions involving cards with between 3 to 5 pips (leaves, in the case of the cards from the Quar starter set). Each time you activate, your opponent draws your card, and you activate models, one at a time, until the opponent reveals how many you actually have. Making interesting risk-reward scenarios, where players don't know how much they're leaving their Quar exposed until it's already happened. Fascinating stuff.

I know this isn't bolt action, but I have a request. There are barely any videos out there when it comes to painting Italian ww2 paratroopers. Would you ever do a video in the future of how to paint them and their camo?

Quar are fun models. I bought some during the Black Friday sale, but many years ago I had some of the 15mm scale metal ones when I still did Flames of War and Gruntz, both of which they fit into nicely. Glad you're warming up to the setting and models. I just finished painting my first full squad of Crusaders a couple days ago. I know Josh Quatlieri is looking for a decal supplier for unit markings, rank insignia, theatre patches, sigils, etc but he's pretty adamant about wanting precut and a lot of the better quality small companies doing decals right now don't have the ability to do precut yet.

These have been on my radar for a while. Really love the aesthetic and lore, so much more fun than the usual oppressive grimdark stuff, without it appearing too cartoony. I think I'll go with a sort of British Second World War-style theme for mine, as I think they'd suit that look rather nicely.

You should see the Crusader faction. They have much more WWI era British/American hybrid uniform feel to them. They also use semi-auto rifles with big beefy barrel shrouds that look like water jackets.

They're a little shorter than typical 'heroic' miniatures, but that makes sense for their squat proportions. Their hands are about as big as you'd see on something like an Imperial Guardsman.

GW just hates xeno fans. I don't even play Orkz, but I have a small collection for fun and I would absolutely have bought plastic Grot tanks. Give it another 5-10 years when they start running out of new unit ideas that aren't just "Primaris [Unusual Noun/job title]" and maybe we'll get to see some. Edit: Initially said "GW hates money" because I've been ranting on Bandai a lot lately, who are even worse than GW when it comes to fulfilling customer desires. GW hates us, Bandai hates easy piles of money.
