In September I read three Rosemary Sutcliffe novels: 2 YA Historical Fiction Novels, «The Silver Branch» & «The Lantern Bearers» (set in Ancient Britain during the Late Roman and the Roman Withdrawal & Saxon Invasions, respectively) and an Arthurian Historical Fiction novel, «Sword at Sunset», all loosely connectied to each other following a family over generations, with the POV character of «The Lantern Bearers» as a mentor figure and his son one of Arthur’s companions in «Sword at Sunset». I also finished «Sword in the Storm» («Rigante» series #1) by David Gemmell (S&S/Heroic Fantasy, inspired by Celtic Britain and the Roman Invasions) and «The Eternal Champion» by Michael Moorcock (Multiverse S&S/(Anti-?)Heroic Fantasy). Currently I am finishing up «Lustrum» (US: «Conspirata», «Cicero»-Trilogy #2) by Robert Harris (Historical Fiction about the Roman Statesman), that one or «Sword in the Storm» might be my Book of the Month! Cheers!😄

You just light up so much when you're excited to try something new, and the amount of effort and detail you put in to each presentation just shows how passionate you are about it, and I think that translates to it being so enjoyable for us to watch. I also think there is 0 drop off in your ability to articulate your thoughts--honestly you almost seem more comfortable talking things through live! :) Also yes, you did pronounce Liesel correctly--at least, how my family always has! Never doubted that you would nail it. Also, even though I am normally someone who listens to the streams, I couldn't help but sit down and watch this one because the visuals and graphics are FIRE! Anyway, sounds like we had a very similar experience with Between Dragons and Their Wrath. Totally agree on Ash, loved the lore in his POV, though I think the alchemist character actually was my fave. From reading some reviews, it seems like a lot of people bounced off her because they found her to be way too horny or something?! BS imo lol. And yes, I hesitate to even call it an ending because it just... stopped 🤣I will happily be your guinea pig for book 2 though hahah. Oh and just as an fyi, Devin Madson uses they/them pronouns ;) Also couldn't have said it better about The Book Thief; I loved it and will probably never touch it again, still haunts me in the best way possible. Glad it resonated so deeply with you and became such a highlight of the month (or even year). I've read the first five books in Tana French's "Dublin Murder Squad" series. You're right about her evocation of a place and time, but I found the books too bleak for real enjoyment. Clearly they were good enough for me to read five books into the series, but I'm not sure I'll ever read book 6. If bleak is your thing though, she is a good source.

Appreciate you trying something new, but I personally like the old format a lot more since it's a lot more concise, just some feedback. I still watch most of the Chatting with Nutts podcasts and do like them as separate videos. Thanks for the great content

@@EnzymeBondedConcrete thank you for the honest feedback. I knew there would be some who would appreciate the more concise format so I’m trying to balance it by having the time stamps in the description. I appreciate you sharing your opinion!
