Seen it twice now. They were all great for me. Didn’t really bother me how they looked different. David was spot on and almost seemed like the real guy at certain angles and moments. Also, Holt as Fritz was incredible.

Some of my best memories are watching the Von Erichs with my brother on a little black and white tv. I doubt the casting will live up to expectations but I’m glad they are finally getting some recognition. Most outside of Texas will never understand just how hugh they were to wrestling.

Years ago I was in this gym in Texas seen a picture of Kerry on the wall just mentioned it to the owner he told me Kerry exhibited bizarre behavior before he died he would come in the gym and just do one muscle like his left bicep for 2hrs and then he would come back the next day and just do his right bicep only. Became really introverted but when he would talk he would get really fidgety thinking there were flys on him or bugs in the gym.

Kerry was supposed to be the best looking one and you wouldn't have known that watching this. And David was like 6'7. I know it's hard to find actors that tall but all of them were over 6 foot. I didn't realize suicide was the cause of so much pain for Erichs. Tge Von Erichs and the Gilbert's wrestled with some real inner demons. I hope this movie does them justice in respect to how much the Erichs meant to Texas and us fans.

I wish they would have turned this into a miniseries rather than a movie. There just isn't time to do justice to the story within the confines of a movie. I watched it yesterday and it was good, but there was so much left out that really would have added depth and nuance. It would have been great to have had seven or eight episodes where the family dynamic and each brother's story could have been fleshed out.

That's not true and I don't agree with the director's decision. They could have made the movie longer. It's not like there aren't true stories that are long. Did I love this movie oh yeah it was good. However learning about his decision makes me think that was kind of in bad taste despite him meaning well. The movie deserves Academy Award it's good. I will say this I do hope one day they remake this film or at least come up with a movie that's also another true story of them. What I hope from that version is I hope they tell the whole story.

The subject matter might be heavy enough in industry commentary, the film makers wanted to present the portrayal, then hop in get away car. Or they just discovered the scope of the material mid way through their multi suicide, family depiction project.

Then his kids imploded working in pro wrestling. Problem with showing that, is pro rass'l is thin skinned gangsters with many skeletons. It's not a nice bunch. Then the production is in danger and sources for material presented.

Missed opportunity! Should’ve been a six-part, two-hour episodic TV miniseries devoted to Fritz and the five brothers: Episode 1: Fritz Von Erich Episode 2: David Von Erich Episode 3: Mike Von Erich Episode 4: Kerry Von Erich Episode 5: Chris Von Erich Episode 6: Kevin Von Erich This would’ve been a perfect structure to tell everyone’s story concisely and thoroughly. Maybe even score some Emmy awards. I should’ve been the director/writer/producer on this project. Missed opportunity, indeed!

I was born on the tail end of the WCCW's journey before it was USWA but I was a baby when I was at a WCCW match. All I remember family telling me when we were there all they remember was The Great Kabuki was there. So I can say I was at a WCCW show. My Granny and Dad has told me and my brothers about WCCW and The Von Erichs. Ever since the Legends of Wrestling games came out, I played a lot and I was always one of the Von Erichs. Most of the time I was Kevin Von Erich. If I had the knowledge and the money I would like to revive WCCW wrestling and put it back on the same grounds where it was originally. That would be so cool.

After reading some of the comments. I couldnt agree more. I figured Zac put on all that weight to play Kerry. As many people have said , he should have done the baywatch body to play Kevin. I was young when i watched the von erichs wrestle , however i distinctly remember Kerry being the body builder physic out of all of them . Great memories of my dad and I watching the Von Erichs back in the 80s. I, for some odd reason, would always side with the Freebirds or the Dynamic Duo (Gino Hernandez and Chris Adams) and it would always pass my dad off. Very few people crossed him without some sort of payback. The fact that he was one of two men Andre feared in real life should tell you everything you need to know.

i've seen the von erics several times in lawton, oklahoma when i was just a kid. i saw kerry von eric beat the hell out of ric flair in a cage match once. this guy looks nothing like him. but in all fairness where are you going to find any actor at all that looks like kerry von eric? you can get jacked up for the part but you havent been doing it your entire life. the only way this story ends is badly. its gonna be a depressing story

I’m sure this has already been said but I just feel like zacks physique was closer to Kerry’s. While Jeremy did a great job I felt he was just too small to play Kerry. Good movie though a little rushed but still good.

I have been reading a lot of comments focusing on how the actors don't necessarily look like the person they are playing. Fair enough, but would you rather a ripped guy who can't act his way out of a paper bag take the part, or would you rather a very good actor come along and pour his heart and soul into making Kerry's humanity the focus of his story arc. I am more than happy to give up a few muscles if I get a well acted (of course, it has to be well written first) movie that lets you leave feeling like you know WHO the Von Erichs were.

I'm from Dallas and grew up on the Von Erichs. I agree with you but they could've found an equivalent actor to play Kerry instead of an actor who looks way more like Barry Manilow than Kerry Von Erich 😂. However, I'm still excited to see it.

Try and lean away from if they look exactly like the character they are playing. The casting is based upon that BUT also their acting and what they bring to that specific character. I am really excited to be transported back in time with this film. I am 68 years old today and the memories I have are so amazing!
