A quick note to Vanessa: there's no compelling evidence that committing more 'wealth' to schools increases student performance if 'wealth' is simply money; if OTOH 'wealth' is a well structured learning environment, student reward systems, and talented, compelling instructors, then we agree. You might want to look at Roland Fryer's educational prescriptions & results.

Those studies dont distinguish between private wealth transfers and government coerced wealth transfers. One takes from the same pool the other is independent collaboration. But in general I agree money isnt the primary issue its really what the pedagogy is.
