I was in Moscow, RU last summer … was scary to fly and actually it was hard to find a flight, but I had to be there for the family reasons. I enjoyed Moscow metro (=subway)! It’s clean, free wifi, free charging outlets, and stations lobby look like a museum or palaces 😊 and it’s the only transport that is not affected by traffic jams

I was there a few years ago. What a paradise compared to, say, Paris. And the people, when then let you into their life...they are just the best people you'll ever meet. I was at a family residence, and they opened for my a 6 year old bottle of home made berry win. I forget the exact berrie. Pretty sure they picked the berries themselves. The wine just made all the grape wines seem tasteless and bland. Just amazing. I've given up alcohol since, but if I ever get access to that family's home brew again, I'm back in the game!

Last time I went to Seattle I jumped on the city tram. I went to pay as I thought was normal and per the sign / pay terminal. Someone told me "you don't have to do that. No one else does" I paid anyways and took a seat. While on I watched endless homeless and junkies get on and off just ignoring all signs, rails, staff, drivers. I gues no one cares enough to even bother with it. It was odd and makes you wonder how they're keeping them running

I know of a guy that apprehended a burglar in his own home, he managed to overcome him, zip tie the burglars hands behind his back until the police arrived and low and behold HE was charged with aggravated assault for zip tying the burglars hands behind his back and protecting his own family and property from the violent intruder, and now the burglar is seeking damages in court and he has been told to cough up $100,000 in damages if he wants to keep his home. *Our SUBWAY in TORONTO was safe for years until the 1990s and the downsizing insanity.* Then some genius let the worker go who was in charge of signals for trains to stop so others could move forward. *WE HAD OUR FIRST TRAIN CRASH.* As l recall rwo people were killed. They did hire someone to ensure there would be no more crashes. I beliieve that was when the term "essential worker" was introduced.

I live in nyc and have taken the subway since my teens. And I’ve never felt such the need to be alert and on guard as I do now (since post covid). It’s like after the pandemic lockdowns, when people started taking the subway again, it’s been a sharp increase in violence: random, and bizarre acts of violence. Stabbings, shootings, pushing of people into tracks, subway surfers, homeless people (with mental illness) randomly lashing out at ppl. And lots of these individuals are let right back out if they don’t commit a felony (like murder)

Tickets? MTA don't use tickets....not that it matters. Everybody just jumps the entry booth or walk through the gates. I know. It's even more depressing when you see the state of NYC subways while dealing with crazy homeless, teens smoking, loud baby mommas cursing, some vomit on seats or smell of it, some dude preaching then begging for money, old junkie who smells like piss, old lady with horrible breath, The other crazy guy that ended himself so now you have sit on cart for hour with all shit I listed. "Greatest city in world" Oh my bad. This was NYC BEFORE defund the police. The George Kirby movement DLC adds guns to that list. Don't worry the governor said they want everyone on trains and off the roads cause she wants less traffic for her rich companions.

I live in Manhattan, and I take the subway a lot and I can confirm that it is indeed a jungle down there. I feel like I'm constantly turning my head, watching for a jaguar in the bushes while making sure not to step on any snakes. NYC definitely has earned its title of concrete jungle, I always feel on edge whenever I see people who look more, well, dangerous. I will always have love for NYC since I grew up here, and there's been times where it wasn't this bad, but NYC along with other cities too definitely struggle to protect their citizens. While right now, I don't personally believe the effort is being made to protect NYC's law-abiding citizens, there have been people who've tried, and in my neighborhood at least, police officers have been doing their best to keep people safe and recently they saved a woman who tried to drown in the Hudson River. Given our population and the structure of the city, it can be hard to keep track of all the activities going on, but yes I do believe a stronger effort can be made, it's just that many leaders won't make the effort as criminals have become a protected class. I sometimes sound naive as an optimist but I truly stand by my optimism that things can and will change for the better, it takes content like JPs to help awaken people, it awakened me too.
