Actually the belief that the Mahdi is a descendant of Imam Al Hasan does not contradict the fact that he can also be a descendant of Imam Al Hussain. It is true somehow. Because the mother of Imam Al Baqir (a) is the daughter of Imam Al Hasan. So Imam Sajjad was married to his cousin from the daughters of Imam Al Hasan.

Mahdi doesn't necesarily need to be aware of himself like the previous prophets because he is not a prophet or messenger. He is just a ordinary man who'm Allah will chose to guide and give him the knowledge and a spirit of the leader. Which other people would recognize in him and pledge him alegiance, even though Mahdi is not fully aware of what's happening to him, so he denies at first. This is one of the possible scenarios, yet Allah knows best.

If we look from shia perspective then there is no question regarding this but the Mahdi character of sunni Islam is less known which can lead to a different understanding of his identity among muslims.

They say from one place that if Mahdi comes, don't go around him. On the one hand, they say that if Mahdi comes, he will not know that he is Mahdi، And some people go and tell him insistently that you are Mahdi and he denies. After all, how is it possible that we do not go around anyone and some people go around Mahdi and tell him that he is Mahdi, this is impossible and illogical. And somewhere they say that Mahdi himself does not know that he is Mahdi and people come and tell him that you are Mahdi and he himself denies it. Like there are people whose knowledge is higher than Mahdi and they tell him that he is Mahdi and he himself does not know. Or see where scholars say that Mahdi will appear in 2000 years, where did he get this word from? Al-Mahdi's name is Ahmad Syukri bin Muhammad idris. Ahmad bin Muhammad is the same as the name of the prophet Muhammad in the life of the spirit world. Ahmad bin Indris has the same name as Prophet Muhammad with his ancestor Prophet Idris. When he appears, he will bring evidence written on his spirit cloak: Imam Al-Mahdi. Khalifatullah bill Fauzan. The only fool proof way to find Mahdi is to seek the letter of appointment - if you choose miracles, appearances, all can be manipulated - but a Divine Will is a protection from misguidance. The Will of Mohammed mentions Abdullah by name a matter not claimed by anyone despite false mahdi in 1,000 years plus - so this means if we stick with this it cannot take us out of guidance. In truth, almost all peoples used to be dark-skinned. The reason why people became whiter is also clear. This pigmentation disorder used to be called leprosy and today it is called Vitilingo and the cause is usually unholy acts of a sexual nature. In the time of Moses pbuh, Kurban had to be slaughtered to get rid of the white spots. The devil and his gang have invested a lot of energy in hiding the truth. It is still an important mission of the devil today to hide this issue. I can also say with certainty that the Mahdi will also be dark-skinned or black. And the light-skinned Muslim who thinks that he is better than the dark-skinned Muslim should fear Allah's swt severe punishment. Racism comes from shejtan

This religion is about the promise of Mahdi that Mohamed has talked about. Remember every community has a messanger . Sura 10:47 And for every community there is a messenger. After their messenger has come, judgment is passed on them in all fairness, and they are not wronged.

It is really weird to see how majority of sunni muslims are blindly following the scholars and their interpretations of scriptures and repeating them like parrots that Mahdi should be exactly Muhammad ibn Abdullah, He will not know he is the Mahdi but at the same time they believe that Mahdi will have divine knowledge so he will be able to bring the religion back to his true form.

I never heard mahdi having Divine knowledge. The people following sunnah never claimed that. It's Shia who claim mahdi to be Divine just like Shia claim Ali or there twelve imams to be divine

Daripada ‘Auf bin Malik RA, bahawa Nabi SAW bersabda: وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَتَفْتَرِقَنَّ أُمَّتِي عَلَى ثَلَاثٍ وَسَبْعِينَ فِرْقَةً، وَاحِدَةٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ، وَثِنْتَانِ وَسَبْعُونَ فِي النَّارِ، قِيلَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَنْ هُمْ؟ قَالَ: الْجَمَاعَةُ Maksudnya: “Dan demi jiwa Muhammad berada di tangan-Nya, akan berpecah umatku kepada 73 golongan kumpulan. Satu kumpulan sahaja yang akan ke syurga dan 72 kumpulan lagi akan dimasukkan ke dalam neraka. Sahabat bertanya: Wahai Rasulullah SAW, siapakah mereka?
