The wild robot (the book) was something I discovered the year it came out through one of those school reading lists. I was in 3rd grade at the time and that book (and its sequel) made me feel emotions I didn’t even know existed. 8 years later, not only can I understand the feelings the movie gave me, but also the themes both originally presented and added in through the transition to a new medium. And it gives me so much joy to see how universally loved this movie already is. If anyone reading this hasn’t read the books, I’d highly recommend them to you, it’s one of the few movies that truly does its origins justice.

You mentioned the sound design of this film. It might be interesting to note that the sound team that worked on The Wild Robot is the same team that did the Super Mario Bros Movie (and Ultraman Rising, but you all don't know about that because Netflix buried it).

I'm not even going to lie. The Wild Robot is the best animated movie I've seen in 5 years! Lately, the hype of Disney-Pixar has been dying out. Now, they do either mediocre sequels or bad live-actions. DreamWorks, on the other hand, has had room in the spotlight. And, honestly, I haven't come out of a movie theater and thought "Wow. That was an amazing movie! I'm looking forward to watching it again!" But The Wild Robot! This movie left me in tears. It's safe to say that it's my new favorite movie

If the movie continues to make substantial revenue in the box office, we all know that DreamWorks definitely will be on the idea of making a sequel. And I’m ALL for it! (Just take my wallet DreamWorks!) But of course, there’s always the possibility of the company getting all too confident and putting in half of, or none of, the work required to make a good sequel that progresses the story, builds on the established characters, and makes audiences connect to the themes. I want a sequel for this trilogy of books that will guarantee I’ve spent my money on a good and quality film. A difficult thing nowadays… I’m between wanting this to be a standalone movie, like Megamind was before the apocalypse that was The Doom Syndicate, and a series of films based on the books that take the story to an all new level! We’ll just have to wait and see what DreamWorks decides they want. A sequel for the purpose of creating a cash grab, or something that respects the source material and resonates with viewers who wish to see the story flourish! If they choose the latter, then I’d say we got another fantastic trilogy of movies from good old DreamWorks Animation that could rival HTTYD, KFP, and even Shrek. Only time will tell…

You kind of overlook Vontra in this video, which is fair tbh but i would actually just like to bully the spaghetti core a little for this comment cause she doesnt know how to copy and paste and probably wouldnt use the fact that roz can TRANSLATE ANIMAL SPEECH for anything useful. Seriously Vontra never says WHY they need the memories, just that they need them. It honestly would be kinda funny if that specific vontra's code was brought back and when roz came back someone instead copy-and-pasted the memories so that way roz can keep them and so they can use the animal translation, and then seeing the story bring back that vontra and make it watch the memories and CAUSE IT TO GAIN A CONSCIENCE which would send Vonni [idk what to call a sentient Vontra] to go into an existential crisis and immense regret for being such an absolute psycho. It's like that meme where rewrite gave AM a conscience

the wild robot movie was good but i hated it because i readthe book. remember the movie was good butcompared yo the book it felt slightly butchered in a way with story. roz felt like dumb standard robot most of the time and never felt like an emotional charector. another thing i hated was that they skipped alot of impactfull moments in the book they skipped the winter fiasco the epic moment where geese pick up a gun and shoot it and the beggining of the book was mostly skipped(the fact that roz was from a cargo ship was not explained clearly it was metioned but breifly and in a very unnoticable mannor) Remember this is just me saying i liked the book better Not That The Movie is bad it wasactually realy good.
@TommorowTodayAndCrudeOilАй бұрын
sorry for the hundred typos btw the winter ark went different in the book in the sense where the animals would start forest fires with the fire in the hut roz made so they have to ballance the hut size and falme size during the winter so they make multiple huts witch creates even more problems

Man, that whole "ai needs humans because humans innovate" just seemed like a heavy dose of copium. Why wouldn't AI be able to innovate and push what we though impossible? Why do you think human ingenuity and creativity is limitless but that AI is confined to a database? Humans work by taking from what came before and using it to create something new and AI very much does the same. That's how generative AI works, else it would just be a search engine. There's nothing about the human mind that is sacred and therefore impossible to replicate with technology. Anything that happens in nature is, in principle, possible to replicate with technology.
