Wrong Scorpio! Have you eaten Mole Poblano? Have you tried "Gallina Pinta" stew? and hundreds of other dishes that ARE NOT tacos? I seriously don't think so...
@faridperez7 жыл бұрын
Mmmm Noup...! I know chilli (con carne, sin carne, vegetarian and everything), but that IS NOT mexican food, that is Tex-Mex food. Mole poblano is another story, and is made turkey (sometimes with chicken or even pork), but the distinctiveness its the sauce called "Mole" which is made of peanuts, bread, a blend of several types of chili peppers, chocolate, almonds, and a lt more, making an unique thick sauce...
Wrong again. Mole is one of the staples of Mexican food with literally dozens of different variations all around the country and an almost ubiquitous presence in hundreds of dishes. I come from a low-income family and I honestly don't know a SINGLE Mexican who hasn't eaten at least several different kinds of mole, myself included.

03Terrestre It is no use telling people about how Mexico is the 11th largest economy in the world, too many people will say something dumb like "Mexico is only like that because of American factories", yet are so unknowledgable about the country they do not know it is a capitalist country with hundreds of domestic companies and coorporations. also since the U.S in the past year has been getting allot of the poorest from parts of Mexico and Central America, they think Mexico is that way too.

In the USA, many mestizos are classified as Native American. In the USA, In most instances, people need to have at least 25% Native American DNA to be considered Native American. While in Mexico, according to the UNAM, mestizos have an Average of 70% Native American DNA. Why in Mexico do the mestizos don't do that? It is a benefit to them to say they are Native American.
@qualqui8 жыл бұрын
Probably the stigma of being native american equals being a savage, a barbarian, this was further entrenched when around 1770 the Spanish mandated that everybody learn and speak spanish instead of the native languages, for fear of uprisings, well 51 years later there were uprisings so that was useless, the only good point here was that spanish served to unify the whole country.

I contribute the misinformation about Mexico almost the same as the misinformation about the United States. Regular televised sitcoms, syndicated radio and commercials portray living in the USA as almost some type of paradise to people who dream about coming here. It's definitely nothing close to paradise (whatever that might be). This country suffers the same misfortunes as most countries, hunger, homelessness, struggling and the crime rate isn't nearly as low as a long list of European countries for example. So, what we hear and see on television or the internet day in and day out from childhood to adulthood somewhat clouds our perception. I make my own judgements of people and places once I've had many weeks to live in an area, which is really the only way you will ever know, no matter where you are. This video was on the mark. Much appreciated!

@karealin2937 жыл бұрын
Calabi-Yau Manifold You are correct. Mexico is way cheaper. I am an engineer, and when I moved to US, I actually lost quite a bit of purchasing power. Someone asked that why poor latinos immigrate so much to US then? Well, that person would have to ask THEM.. I think they still believe that the American dream is true (that they will somehow turn rich in US) and everything will go fine and dandy.
@qwertytypewriter20136 жыл бұрын
It's harder to make a living in the US (I've lived in both nations and here in Mexico I do make waaaay less dollars but since everything is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay cheaper I can EASILY make a living like the vast majority) 5% of Mexicans have said they would consider moving to the US... 95% would rather stay. Get your facts straight.
Victor Marquez wrong, why? As simple as the fact that the peso worths less than the dollar and the national economy is more expensive compared to the usa per capita national income means you are totally wrong, how? USA=1hour work=9.5usd = 192pesos/h(heb cleaning services)=1300usd/w,avrg Mexico=1week work= 60usd=800-1300pesos(just graduated medical assistent) Where and how does it changes? Some WV in usa=18000usd(340mil,same as mexico,even tho some WV are made in mexico[cheaper labor and pay]) Gasoline in mexico 20pesos/L(runned by only one "mexican" gas firm *Pemex*) Gasoline in USA(multiple price range from cheap to cheaper)avrg= 2.8usd/L 1300usd=20milpesos,-50p/L 1300pesos-20p/L Has bien las operaciones y con solo eso ,un ejemplo tan vago, simple pero efectivo, te demuestta medisnte numeros que es mas barato vivir en estados unidos por la cantidad de income que se obtiene, a comparacion de mexico que ganas poco y gastas mucho mas.

I live in USA , I'm American citizen but my ethnicity is Mexican and I will always consider myself Mexican no matter what, brown Mexican and proud of it, holding respect for adoptive country and abiding it's laws. I have also been to other countries like Germany, Poland, and Ukraine (my ex fiancee was from Ukraine, i fell in love with Ukraine, amazing people, reminded me of Mexico :)). I always grab the positive things from every country, I have a very open mind about their pros and cons. No country is perfect in this world. I admire that my mother land Mexico does not go to other countries and exploit the riches of the people and end up blowing women and children like the USA has done for so many decades. However, I do not admire the fact that Mexican people keep being subjugated under a government that keeps the people submissive from an economic point of view. God bless our Mother Earth . Thanks for this channel Paul.

Dustin Heath -end up in Newport/Portsmouth RI area by chance? 🤔
@adrianavelazquez33476 жыл бұрын
@Dustin Heath you are claiming you have been here before us. The Spaniards came to what is now The United Mexican States in 1518 and colonized most of what the USA is now, and that is the one side, if we talk of my indigenous side well we all know that is a bit longer. On the other hand, the English set foot on the 13 colonies until after the 1600's , thus we precede you Anglos for nearly 100 years. As far as "America" being a continent well I know that in the English speaking world when somebody says America people refer tu the USA. Although, I've come across instances where even in the English speaking world when people say "America" they refer to the continent, even though people do not realize it. For example: Who discovered America? Answer: Christofer Columbus As we all know this guy never set foot in What is now the USA, hence referring to "America" the continent or novus mundo( the new world)

It's crazy how bad the Media can make this country look, I think most of the time they show video/pictures of Tijuana, which is pretty much I guess the worst place in Mexico, then I watch youtube video's of people in Mexico and get to see how it really is. Crazy how much we have been lied to. Also many youtuber's have said that the people of Mexico are actually very accepting of Americans down there. Never really thought to look it up until I was at a bar and one of my old Mexican work friends showed up, we were like 8 beers in and he was just like "Man I wish was back in Mexico" I asked him why, he just said, well just a better environment, nicer people, more relaxed way of life" I think that's what really opened my eyes.

If you get on the bus in mexico and make it to your destination without getting mugged or worse, it was a good day. Lowlifes steal from the elderly while they cash in their pension checks all the time. Mexico might not have mass shootings, but dozens of people get shot or stabbed during robberies everyday.
@SmileBaby1437 жыл бұрын
Again that depends on what areas you're in I have family in Mexico City, by the coast in the state of Jalisco and a grandma in the middle of nowhere on a ranch where the internet comes and goes and is a 2-hour drive from the nearest city. I had to get on a bus from the city of juarez and go 12 hours to visit my grandma, and about 10 hours to each other destination, basically lived by the buses and I was fine. Mexicans and people with Mexican family know which areas are more dangerous and they know which areas wouldnt be smart to be in late at night, like i said, if your smart and are take the locals advice where not to be late at night, then your fine. I could say the same things for cities in the states too!

Thank you for making this video. It's frustrating when people just have these negative connotations about Mexico and don't bother getting informed. I've been meaning to ask you, have you noticed racism in Mexico? I've read that the majority of middle/upper class Mexicans are white, who often look down on lower class indigenous people. Of course that may have to do more with social class rather than race.
@RoloRolooo8 жыл бұрын
I would say that yes, there is a very prevalent kind of racism, but not the same kind of rabid racism you would find in Europe or the US. It's very subtle and under the radar in everyday life. And you are correct, most powerful politicians and rich people are white, blond, blue eyed, and many have french, german, lebanese, and of course, spanish last names. I remember when I first realized it existed I was about 14 and my aunt was talking about some relative who just had a baby and she commented "the poor baby had really dark skin." It was half joking and condescending but people do notice the difference in skin color and facial features. However, it's very rare to see someone treated aggresively, with contempt or being discriminated against. Basically everyone, even my aunt, are respectful and warm to everyone. Mexico's history makes race relations a special case because for about 300 years, the indigenous natives were conquered, dominated and subjugated by the spanish. This created a clear hierarchy of power and status that was ingrained in the culture and persists till today. But what was different from most other conquests around the world is that the spanish eventually mixed with the native population, wich gave birth to what we call the "mexican race". So we have the whole spectrum from very dark to very light peoples, which makes it impossible to deliniate different "races", except of course at both edges of the spectrum. So in conclusion, I would say there is something like it. The huge inequality that the video talks about is very real, but from my experience it trascends race.

Rolando Rios I've spent most of my life in the US so haven't had much experience in Mexico. I always had the feeling there was racism there, however subtle it may be. Just wasn't sure until I got older. I'm from Chihuahua, quite a few white people there, and I do remember indigenous people were usually the poor ones. There were children out on the streets selling candy. It was really sad. And I also remember some of my parents friends/relatives that lived in really nice, wealthy neighborhoods. I don't remember racism coming from them. Now once I discovered KZbin, I realized Mexico had some racism. There were some very mean comments towards people with darker skin. I wasn't sure if they were just trolling or genuinely felt that way. Even then it's not as obvious as in the US. When people find out I'm Mexican they're like "Really? I thought you were white", as if Mexican and white were mutually exclusive. Some even have the nerve to tell me "well at least you look white, not like the brown kind".
@robjorrosmar8 жыл бұрын
saludos!! I think there is no racism in Mexico. Many people misunderstand it. In Mexico what exists is classism. In Mexico everyone (white, black, mestizos) is proud of its culture, Aztec, Mayan, indigenous traditions, its crafts, its magic villages, its gastronomy. Almost everything comes from pre-Hispanic times. In Mexico people who have money, can be of any race, are believed more than those who do not have. that's the problem.

@robjorrosmar8 жыл бұрын

My wife works in a hospital, scouts would go to Mexico scouting out nurses, looking for nurses to work and live in the U.S. and had a hard time finding people, who where willing to leave Mexico and their families, even offering bonuses, cars, homes and still had a hard time, becouse Mexicans did not want to leave their families and Mexico, I'm not kidding, just the fact they offered thats shows there trying to offers of incentives to go to the U.S.

@fernandome.8288 жыл бұрын
@pedrouribe3028 жыл бұрын
@fernandome.8288 жыл бұрын
@pedrouribe3028 жыл бұрын

In 8 out of 10 jobs I've had in the U.S. - I was lucky enough to have worked with professionals that are Mexican or from Mexican descent. They've all been Accountants and have specialty in Global Finance/Taxation. I look up to them because they are respected by our clients. Their strong work ethic is inspiring to me and I can say they've helped me shape the person I am today. Thank you Carina, Hector, Prisco and everyone that who's name I can't remember right now...oh and Marco (Puerto Rican/German descent).
