As someone who was forced to leave school young, Kevin at 17 feeling like he threw away his chance really hits hard. Alot of people don't realise how expensive and time consuming it is just to get an equivalent of what u get from finishing school when your young, and even then its looked down on as a lesser form of education.

No wonder Gwen's in college by 17. Knowing her, and the fact that she's only moonlighting as Lucky girl during college, she'll probably graduate before her 19th birthday. I think Gwen and Emily is what happens when you have a supportive friend with way too much on their plate, while Benn and Julie is when that same person isn't supportive. Because they did get along during the Highbreed arc, before Ben's ego got inflated.

This is one of my favorite episodes. It was nice to see what Gwen’s life is like outside of saving the world. The plot also reminds me of Code Lyoko and how the team was trying to balance school and save the world. Their actions also had repercussions. One example is that in one episode, they got detention for skipping class to fight Xana.

Animo did Ultimate first if you think about it. He's "evolving" animals into things that they would or could be with evolution. Except for resurrecting a dinosaur and a mammoth. He can quite literally bring things to life that have been dead for years.

I actually love the idea of Emily or Gwen having a best friend in general introduced in this episode and I’m a bit sad it wasn’t brought back given the potential it could have. Depending on the episode, Gwen is played up as more or less of a workaholic, but a lot of the time it seems like her academic studies, magic studies and villain research are huge facets of her character and how she feels useful to the trio. I think it would be really interesting to highlight Gwen’s workaholism more, having her basically neglect self-care and relaxation in any capacity and needing to have a friend who looks out for her in that department, someone who she relates to but has a more laidback attitude towards it. It’s such a small detail but Emily bringing Gwen food this episode knowing she’d missed meals, and the implication that this is a trend, was really sweet. I’m always down for a supporting character like that who helps better characterize our leads and I think for all its good qualities UAF is sometimes lacking in that department, tho we absolutely have a great supporting cast. Also, not especially relevant, but I really like that they made Emily a wheelchair user. Always nice to get disability representation

Here, I would argue that Animo was increasing the Mind Controller's signal strength/range to get a Mutant Frog to him as soon as possible. It might not have been on that setting due to it requiring more energy or because it may have still been in an experimental stage. This is, however, just what I think is going on. For all we know, this instance had Animo think that he could use the device on a lower setting and still easily win.

I had actually forgotten a lot of the Ben and Kevin stuff because I was so engrossed with the Gwen stuff, before watching this I only remembered the Wildmutt tease and that's it. Also, for those wondering, the math problem doesn't seem to be solvable. At first glance, it seems to be one long part of an equation that needs to be simplified and then divided by the second part of the equation. Order of Operations could be used, but the problem with the first part of the equation cuts off with a multiplication symbol. At first, I though it was the variable, "x", but with the way Gwen writes out the rest of the equation, it looks to be a multiplication operation symbol.

Like, I would assume that he sees those things as one of the best things to strive for and whatnot and thus he made his frogs stronger. I think the school uniform is mandatory, but flexible. Like, the teachers understand that some students gets comfortable without the red top, and they simply let it be. Since stereotipically , in America, male students are the ones who mostly care about things like school rivalries, in the episode all the boys wear the complete uniform, while the girls only wear the shirt and the skirt (with of course the exception of Gwen being Gwen). I dunno, i just think it makes sense.

I would have loved to have an episode that is focused on a Tennyson Family Reunion of sorts, or even a big dinner night, just something that had many of them hanging around. Bring back returning characters like Camille, Joel, Aunt Vera and so on, delve into some of the family problems, like Verdona's history with her kids and their wives, Camille and Lucy struggling with adapting to earth cultures, Ken maybe being overshadowed by his little sister and cousin, Kevin and Julie brought along to be introduced, and maybe even bring in the Baby Chills as a surprise and to showcase how Ben stands out a lot due to all his alien connections. A story about family, that comes in many shapes and sizes, would have been fun to explore, and feel like a more grounded episode, even with the alien stuff. Cause I imagine many fans would be able to relate to at least one member in the family.

I used to not like this episode due to it not having much hero time but I think this is one my favorite episodes because of that. I love seeing the heroes doing normal things and dealing with juggling hero time, me time and their other responsibilities. This episode is one of the best

I love this whole episode. And I know it's heretical to bring up a Ben moment in this Gwen episode, but I gotta say that ultimate canonbolt spin where he wrapped the frogs tongue around himself was super cool. One of the best canonbolt sequences I've seen

Speaking of Ben getting a pass to leave school, I've always wondered something. I'm pretty sure this is the last time Ben going to school is ever brought up so I've always wondered if Ben wound up dropping out of school to be a hero/plumber full time once Gwen and Kevin left in OV. We never see him go back, it's never brought up again and OV has him officially being given a partner with Rook, so him dropping out makes sense in the context of the show since we know he didn't graduate early like Gwen or that wouldn't have been treated like a big deal.

I am impressed by how the frog in this episode did not have red eyes. At this point in the franchise, unless you came from the Aunor system and you are a bad person, your eyes must be red, so it is a nice change.

Amazing episode honestly, incredibly refreshing and great to see their normal lives again! As you said it would’ve been cool if we got a day in the life episode for Kevin too, but alas. I think if this episode was placed before the start of the Dagon arc that it would’ve been received better during its initial airing. Nowadays we can just binge all the episodes though (or just watch them in whatever order you want)

I think it could have been neat to see an episode like that for each member of the trio. Yes, you can argue that Ben has one with "Grounded." But, to me it's not quite like it. Like, by that time his identity was still a secret, so it could have been interesting to see how he deals with fame, people knowing where he studies, where he lives, him and his parents dealing with All that attention. Even personal relationships like, dudes doesn't have friends, just coworkers. Gwen at least has Emily Wame with Kevin, how he tries to get a diploma, his side hustles, etc.

This was a very different episode from the usual, it showed our characters, well, one, living their normal life away from the super antics, it's refreshing Was surprised though to see this get a full breakdown, still enjoyable though On god, I was not expecting a maths lesson with Kuro... But low key, that would be fun as hell And yes, it's very stupid that they couldn't do this without Gwen, I feel it was only put in so show how busy she could be Really wish there were more Gwen centred episodes, I know it's ironic, but it's not all about Ben

I like to imagine there’s a story behind her and Emily having mis colored uniforms and it adds to their friendship. Like maybe Gwen with her luck got a discolored uninform and Emily puts on a red shirt to make her feel less odd one out
