Fun fact: jellyfish stings are are venomous that electric due to the stinger in the tentacles injecting the venom. Although the way the venom f*cks with your nerves has been described as an electric shock

I'm so glad you brought up hammerhead sharks! The position of their eyes not only means they have no blind spots; they also have binocular vision (where both eyes can focus on the same thing) both ahead of and behind themselves. All that space between their eyes isn't wasted, either - it's packed with electroreceptors, sensory organs that help them detect movement. Most if not all sharks have them, but the sheer number of them that hammerheads have means they can find pretty much anything that has a pulse. They can use it to hunt rays and other fish that bury themselves in sand to hide.

Humans are actually "disgusting" to sharks, you'll get gently bit (compared to a usual bite) if they don't know what you are out of curiosity. But they'll be put off by the taste and move on unless they're absolutely starving and haven't eaten in days. So basically keep the oceans flourished and you'll be fine.
@jansonshrock2859
@jansonshrock2859 Ай бұрын
except for the two species of shark that have the most attacks to their names, tiger sharks because they are scavangers they eat anything no matter the taste and bull sharks they will take multiple bites just because they attack you just for being near them, bull sharks have not only the most testosterone to weight ratio of any animal, but also the flat out highest level of testosterone of any animal, including ones that are much much bigger than them.

@@jansonshrock2859 this requires more context Firstly, the great white still holds the greatest number of fatalities but tiger shark attacks are more frequent though less fatal due to teeth size and jaw strength. Bull sharks more more complex as attacks have only been recorded during mating seasons when they're territorial and thus more aggressive to most large creatures. Though across all 3 species combined over the last 120 years, there has been less than 100 deaths as a result of shark-related attacks.

Fun facts: shark attacks fall under 5 categories 1. A lot of shark attacks happen during dusk or dawn this cause its harder for potential prey to spot them also during times when beaches are murky so dont go swimming in murky water or during those times thats when you invite such risks. 2. Normally shark attacks are one bite this is unlike humans who have hands to investigate things sharks only have the mouth n teeth so it usually a investigatory bite to see if you prey or not but we have lil wimp bodies that one bite could still kill. 3. Mainly holiday or tourist destinations do illegal feeding to sharks for attractions causing sharks to pick up the habitat that when people swimming stick out the legs or arms its time for them to receive food and ends up taking the persons arm or leg which this happens a lot this is on us not them. 4. It happens sometimes not a lot of the time but the occasional shark when growing from pup still learning whats food or not might attack a person n decide we are a easy mealdn then grows to full adult thinking we are a prey item these are Normally called rogue sharks that go off the normal habits 5. food source, some sharks attack people or other animals when they encroach on something they are eating from, this is just them defending what they might not get a chance to have in a long time after.

Regarding dolphins, like Casual Geographics say, they have pretty privilige. That's why people willfully ignore that they're sadistic rape whales and line up to swim with them. Sharks can look scary but considering how much humans flock to the sea, there's really not many shark incidents. It's kinda like with bears. Attacks are rare but when they DO happen, it can be straight up nightmare fuel.

17:50 - Discussion of what could be down past "no man's land" depths of the ocean, it can be scary unless you remember the pressure laws. What can survive under that much pressure down there, much like the Blobfish, cannot survive in the less amount of pressure we have on the top of the ocean. Their bodies would gel out and they would die from too much oxygen.

20:11 so think of it in reverse to how we breathe; there's small amounts of water in the air we breathe in that actually helps keep the walls of the lung from drying out, but if we accidentally breathe in a mouthful of water then we're gonna choke and it's going to be hella uncomfortable... It's the same for sharks, their gills are designed to filter small amounts of oxygen out of the water so when there's more air than water going through it's gotta be really uncomfortable

17:31 Well, not exactly. We have actually sent 2 manned missions to the deepest known point in the ocean, the challenger deep, which is located in the Marianas trench. It's deeper underwater than the cruising flight of a Boeing 747 airliner. The first expedition down there was in the 60s and they sent 2 guys down there. The real challenge is that we haven't figured out a way to accurately map the ocean since there isn't exactly a ton of landmarks. It's also wayyyyyyyyyyyyy more vast than a lot of people realize. We've only mapped about 5% of the ocean floor as of now.

Also they did discover a layer of the earth that is pretty much an ocean . Though I don’t know how accurate that article was . 20:15 (I keep editing because I’m high) but maybe it’s because it fucked up the magnetic field in the water . Sharks can feel the magnetic field in the water and can use that to hunt and know where they are going . Maybe it disrupts their ‘sight’

Australia is the no man’s land of the world. I think there’s an island there that’s just literally backwards from every other place on earth. It’s not somewhere you would want to be stranded. July is winter and December is summer. 17:00 also by the way, if something is down there, it literally would probably die due to the sudden change in pressure, light, temperature and many more, because if it is that deep it’s adapted to the cold and would either die to the heat, it would be blinded, or it would just be too light for anything to work. There are better explanations out there but this is just my speculation. 19:56 Orcas do in fact have blowholes, I’m pretty sure they are porpoises, which dolphins are too, meaning they are marine mammals that move really really fast basically, so, it could be that, or they just fear suffocating from the bubbles since it is technically air/carbon dioxide assuming that scuba gear expels carbon dioxide.

17:22 what Aaron just said is the dumbest shit I have ever heard of, you lot are acting like there's a hole ass horror movie down there like a kraken is down there or something krakens were based of dead giant squid rising up to the top of the ocean when they die. Aaron just said when global warming happens it might allow a monster to come up to us as if the change of temperature would allow it to come up to us😮‍💨 even if the world got a whole degree warmer its not gona change the pressure of the ocean deapths. For an example if a blob fish comes up to the surface of the ocean it will disform and get distorted because the pressure holds it together at the deapths it lives in when that pressure goes it will disform. So he is right in the way he said if a monster is down there it wouldn't be able to come up to us, but most likely there is a bunch of worms starfish and small boring fish down there. There are no monsters in the ocean and there are no melodeons down there either because melodeon would not be able to survive at ALL if they were alive today because all the things they used to pray on are gone. DONT BELIEVE STUPID LITTLE TICTOCS AND MOVIES FOR INFORMATION IF THERE ARE UNABLE TO BACK IT UP

You do understand dolphins commit horrible acts against their own kind right females of their own kind killed their own kids of their own kind dolphins are 3,000 times worse than a shark are sharks basically a overgrown pacifist once you compared to a dolphin and dolphins cause more injuries to humans and kill more humans in sharks ever do whenever someone does get attacked by a shark is very very gruesome but a dolphin attacks just if a dolphin attacks you it was not because of its own instincts it's because a dolphin wanted to attack you are dolphins intelligent enough like that so if they want to attack you they'll just attack you a shark will only bite a human because of a mistake for his favorite food sea sometimes seals actually make sharks into dinner
