Your supposed to do light coats every few hours. You did heavy coating and the garage looks cold so that’ll mess with the drying time as well. Light mist around the tree and maybe one coat a day for 2 or 3 days should do the trick

The spray snow is really good for windows. You can also take a water hose and spray the snow off of your tree if you would like to start over with something else.
@Kyle_Hubbard Жыл бұрын
A few things. Spray snow isn't designed to stay in place when it's being moved. Typically people use it while in place or near it's place of stay and accept that you'll have to suck the stuff that falls from the floor. That said there are two options. I've been told that 1) You can use hair spray and let it cure and that'll keep it in place but not permanently so this is good if you want to remove the snow. I cannot confirm this works as I've not tried. 2) You can use a non yellowing spray glue to permanently keep the snow locked in place. It is key that you buy a non yellowing spray glue because there are glues that will yellow over time and that'll leave a nasty look on the tree. Secondly, it is advisable that you flock and glue spray each part of the tree individually. I don't know how the trees go together in the US but I would assume the same as here in EU? What I mean by this is that each branch is an individual piece that connects onto the main pole "stem" that then goes into the support. Take each branch and open the 'twigs'. Once you've done this to all of them, take them outside on a day without a breeze and place cardboard on the floor or table and spray them one at a time. You'll get a better effect if you don't lay it on all in one go. Build the layers up to give a more even realistic look, build the layers up to a point that you are happy with and you should have some nice even looking snow. Remember, snow in most setting will land evenly rather than unevenly. Once you've done all the branches it'll be time to apply the spray glue. On this part I would advise reading the can properly and following what it says as I don't want to give wrong directions because each brand might suggest how to apply it best differently. In general you just want to spray it 'lightly' in a steady passing motion trying to get even coverage. Watching some spray painting tutorials might help get you the gist. Spraying individual branches will not only help you get better coverage it'll help you avoid spraying the branches in place meaning you probably won't be able to deconstruct it after the fact, haha. Disclaimer, I would HIGHLY advise that you flock and/or spray glue OUTDOORS. You might think that the room you did it in is an enclosed space and is properly ventilated and while this may be true to an extent as opposed to a small air tight box you should remember that you're moving around in a room filling with aerosol and fine particulate matter. I personally really wouldn't want to be breathing that stuff in. This is also true for spray glue. Personally I value my health and our lungs aren't designed to breath these chemicals and particles in. I'll tell you for free, COPD (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease ) isn't fun and watching people who have it suffer is a stark reminder in why we should protect our lungs because the years of your life left is lived in a horrible struggle both literally and figuratively.

Those fumes aren't good for pets, either. Most have little lungs. 😊 Be careful with hairspray since it might be flammable. Make sure to check.

It worked for me! I have a flocked tree which has lost a lot of its flock over the years and the snow spray made her nice and snowy again. I find that the outside cold doesn’t allow it to try cuz I sprayed my tree inside and that dried overnight but garland I sprayed outside did not. So I have brought that inside to dry.

I just bought the same spray and IT IS A MESS, I guess it is just flour like in a can. I bought it to use it for some ornaments and it never dried. I bet other brands like krylon or from Design masters would do better. Greetings ❤

The spray that comes in a can is thin and looks like spray paint when you apply it. Buy snoflock instead, the one that comes in a powder form. Spray the tree with water as you’re sifting the powder on the tree. I did it like that this year and the tree looks amazing!
@ankurlohiya1435 Жыл бұрын
Were you able to remove it from the tree after, or is it permanently stuck?
@Anndkfjrosldm123 Жыл бұрын
@@ankurlohiya1435 the flock is permanent. You do get some flakes off as any other flocked tree would when you set it up or put it away

If its not a lighted tree, you can wash the snow with water and a little bit of detergent, I've done it for years. Also I use the exact same brand of canned snow

I did mine inside and let it dry over night. I used two bottles and just used another two. I felt like it wasn’t enough coverage for my 9ft tree

I did laugh but I feel your pain. I want a flocked tree too but I don't want to spend the money. I love how you like to change it up every year too. Some people decorate their tree the same way every year. No, I can't do that.

Paint will not dry in the cold..well it will but it can take multiple days to dry... That is why you should never do any DYI's in the winter unless they are done in the basement or a heated garage. This would have dried sooner if you used a little electric space heater. Far away it doesn't look bad.
