Giving Pocholo all that money is great for him. However, when he took you to all these places, you were paying for his food and drinks. Also you needed to know that he more likely gets commissions from these places as he took you to them as a customer. I feel sorry for doctors, nurses, teachers etc. as they study for a long time and work really hard but their jobs are not relating to tourism so they don’t have any chance to get all that money that tourists give to people just because tourists feel sorry for them. But yet again there is no justice in the world; is there?. Some people burn in a very poor family starving but some others are as children to millionaire families. I guess having a job relating to tourism is better thing to do in Cuba.

Will a monthly $250 earning do something for you in the States? Cubans have a decent quality of life. That was AWESOME! $100 U.S. is like 2,400 Cu' Pesos. That is like 5 MONTHS of pay for a minimum wage earner in Cuba. He deserved that. You made his year! It says $100 U.S. in the video title, but then you said you gave him 30,000 Cuban pesos, which would be $1250 U.S. dollars, and if you gave him 30k pasos that is like 5 years of pay to a minimum wage earner there. lol. So if it was 30k pesos you gave him, you just left him standing back there wondering what to do with all that money. lol. Either way, it was awesome!

Actually... (I just learned about this)... the online exchange rate is 24 CUP to $1 USD... then if you change your money at the bank in Cuba, bank's exchange rate is about 125 CUP to $1 USD... then there is this "black market" exchange rate of 300-320 CUP to $1 USD that you can get on the street. So 30,000 CUP is about $100... still, a very generous gesture on Czech in Effect's part

@zhdrums3872

@Emilio26 doesn't matter what doctors or engineers earn. The percentage of engineers/doctors compared to everyone else in Cuba is probably like 1%. That's like saying what do politicians make in America? Only a Select few will Ever get that position. So asking what the highest paying career earns means nothing when these people dont have a chance for school and college etc.

@@cmk55norway Yes, blame the ungrateful Cuban community in Miami. They are the ones keeping the US government hostage from lifting the embargo on the island. Imagine you let somebody stay in your house and give them everything, and in a few months they tell you who you can and cannot talk to. The US does not have any embargo on China and Vietnam, there is absolutely no reason to have one on Cuba.

Hey Bro Czech, you doing global work. You are showing our Brotha and Sistahs in the diaspora truth about our people. Keep doing what you do...I dont praise too many social media people, but you are educating those of us who at one time only could see the hood that we were in...now we are GLOBAL..... You are also Blessing those people who should be Blessed. The USA and European power has created poverty all around us....mainly Black and Latin America people are suffering, but with more dignity that the greedy oligarchs in USA and EU. The USA and EU evil sanctions and embargo has crippled their economy. I pray for global victims of USA and EU economic torture.

Seeing the myriad of iridescent ornate splendid vintage Cuban architecture, old automobiles, and poverty puts me into a 1950 nostalgic epoch. Cerch In Effects allows the camera in Old and New Habana to tell of the intriguing culture: folks dancing, playing the drums, hustlers, inside of the Cuban homes, local drinks, and conversing with the locals. Besutiful culture and informative content.
