Water witching…we once had a piece of property that we had just purchased with intent to develop a convenience store. The city had covered up the entrance way with black top. We went to city and asked if they had a way to find the water meter. One man in the office said they didn’t have the device we requested but he would be right down and find the meter. When he came he ask if we had 2 wire clothes hangers? We found 2 and he bent them in shape of a L. We said to ourselves with a chuckle “ Oh No” He held one in each hand, walked across the driveway and the wires closed, he drew a line with his heel and said is one pipe. Then he walked across the driveway in another direction, the wires crossed again. He said your water meter is below the X. He left and we felt stupid cutting through the black top. Son of a gun…we found the water meter!when we got back home 100 miles away my brother tried it and since he already knew where the water lines were it worked. He thought maybe he had influenced the outcome. But we saw it work for the city worker!😂
