Irene Martinho pros: never truly bored, someone to help zip hard to reach places, assistance in any help needed, great buddy to go to events with or eat with, sharing things, someone to make sure you're home safely. Cons: always in your space, can be nosy, could be loud when you need quietness, may have expectations, can be picky with certain things such as keeping the place clean a certain way, but also could be a very messy person. I lived with a roommate for two years! And now I am once again next year, you can ask me anything about it if you'd like! But of course it's different for everyone :)

I really really like my personal space and have a problem falling asleep so I'm afraid my roommate might snore or go to bed a lot later.... but at the same time I think it would be a good way to have someone to go places with you and you already know someone! what do you think?

Sarah 808 well it all depends on where you're going to live. Obviously in a traditional dorm room, you're kind of stuck with how the person or people sleeps at night. But I mean I'm an apartment, you won't be stuck sleeping in the same space, so it might not be as a big of a problem, you'll just have to give them a heads up about how you have a hard time falling asleep. I am happy that I did have a roommate, I lived with the same one for 2 school years, but this next year I'm going to live with other roommates because my old one never cleaned up after herself. Plus, she was always home so I knew I could ask her to go to places with me. You might also get a roommate that is never home too, it all depends on who your roommate will be. I do like my personal space too, so I would recommend living in an apartment if you're able to! Otherwise, living on your own is fine too, you can try being friends with neighbors because usually in places near a college campus, a lot of the people living in those apartments are students. Don't worry about it too much, you're going to be fine :)

Btw, the "power strip" is called a surge protector. While it does provide you with more outlets, the point is the keep your devices safe in case of a blackout or "surge". Otherwise everything will be fried.

Know this is hella late but you are only partially correct. Power strips and surge protectors are different. Not all power strips have surge protection, they simply give you more outlets. They look the same so you just need to read the product details to ensure you're getting a surge protector. (:

Mr Nice Guy If I can offer advice, take the SATs twice. My score improved so much the second time around just because I knew what to expect and how to handle the test. PSATs don't prepare you the same as the real deal.

99centcult It depends on your school. Most schools do have "singles" for freshmen. Mine does not, but pretty much every school I toured does, though it's worth noting that these are significantly more expensive than regular rooms in most cases.
