Good job done by ZigWheels. Appreciate your concern about the vehicle owners. Simplified neat presentation by Kamath Bhai. People are little crazy in reducing the IDV to pay lesser premium and most of the tes, insure only third party. In such cases naturally the claim will be less. On the other hand, insurers offer deductibles which amount is to be borne by the vehicle owner. If the claim is less than deductibles the it's better not to go for insurance claim. Companies charge you for frequent claims........

Had met with an accident few years back was rear ended, went to register a complain and the police in the end was asking me to pay a rash driving fine😂, they just wanted to me to bribe them and the report was useless as it wasn't required.

1. What to do with bike/scooty after accident happen at road, and bike scooty totally broken unable to ride, what to do at that particular situation if health ok, bike broken ? left there to rot side of the road and took taxi home ? if yes then who will take care of broken bike ? Are tow also available for Bikes ? or only for car ? do all bike service center in city have tow service ? 2. Bike insurance cheapest one are of 1k for 1 year, are they good ? or which type of insurance should be taken on better side ? under 1 lakh bike/scooter really need costly insurance or Rs 1k insurance in enough

Anil, This process is also similar to the car accident case. I assume that all the healthcare and trauma is taken care of first and now the concern is solely about the vehicle. Please note that once a bike gets involved in an accident and if the damage is only to the vehicle, then the primary thing needed to be done is to call the insurance company and they will most likely arrange a towing service. However, you must be able to specify clearly about the description of your vehicle so that they bring suitable truck accordingly. If the insurance company doesn't provide towing service, they may be able to provide the phone number of the towing service provider. You may also find it online, or always keep it in person in your wallet or phone. Once the bike has been towed, there are generally two options- One being bringing the bike to home and sending it to service at a later date and the second being taking the bike directly to the service centre. If the accident took place at night, you can still tow the bike to the service centre. There will most likely be a security guard who will accept the custody of the vehicle and provide a custody challan. At this point, you will also require the towing receipt from the towing company. This helps in claiming the amount under insurance, if permissible under the terms. Generally, most bike service centres will not have towing services at night and they won't pick your call. Therefore, it would be wiser to call Road Side Assistance, if provided by the manufacturer of your vehicle or directly call the insurance company to seek further guidance. If nothing works, you may call the emergency number and request police unit at your location to help you. As per my personal experience, the Road Side Assistance (RSA) provided by the manufacturer is of poor quality, whereas the insurance guys have better quality service. Of course, if there is some technical or mechanical issue like battery, engine, fuel etc., and you think the bike can start, then you can try the RSA.
